Soloing Razergore

Am I doing something wrong?

The fight is simple enough… I kill the first three orcs, control Razergore, and start killing eggs from one side of the room (I start next to my character) towards the other. When the MC is almost done I run to the farthest corner, kill the adds on my character, and control Razergore again. But every time, he gets killed by the adds when I have four or five eggs left. How can I get aggro off of him?

Sad to hear that fight bugged for you.

As for aggro, all aggro that Razorgore has when mind control breaks is transferred to target who was controlling him (unless it has changed recently). What I did was that when mind control had around 3-5 seconds remaining, I shot that fireball barrage of his (notice that it has 2 seconds cast time). This caused all adds to come to me, which made boss really easy when I did it that way. If that isn't just enough, you can also put dragon adds to sleep.

I had trouble at first because I didn't realize you couldn't mind control him with a pet out. I'm use to doing the dungeon on my Shaman because I wanted the set on her, not my Hunter.

Once I realized that, I just tried to mind control through the whole thing and ended up dieing to the adds on me. After the first mind control broke, they ALL came for me and I just clicked the orb again thinking I could finish the eggs in time.

Next try I dropped one of the AoE fire traps by the orb before my first control. That way any that ran up to me would slowly die and stay on me, not Razgore. I worked my way to the farther side of the room so that when mind control ended, he'd be the farthest away from me as possible. Once it dropped I AoE'd the ones on my down, then went back to controlling Razgore and finished up the eggs with both him and I around 20% health. I didn't really use the sleep move on Razgore, maybe once. I wanted to generate as little hate on him as possible. For the most part they'd come up and hit him a few times then run to me at the orb.

Thank you for the tip! That helped quite a bit. I also got a tip from Magna that Exhilaration works on Razorgore, and those two things together made the fight easy. Thanks much.

Seilahyn, oddly enough, my character was at almost full health the entire time- it was just that the mobs would run to Razor and then stay on him. Sleeping the dragons and using Exhilaration were musts.

That's odd that Exhilaration worked on Razgore. I wouldn't have even thought of that. Now do you mean you were able to use it on Raz while controlling him? I'm a little confused on that. I guess, now that I think of it... it does make you dismiss your pet as he technically becomes your "pet" and the ability heals your pet to 100%. I wonder if that will get hotfixed.

Now that I'm thinking of it, maybe the 20% was the first attempt where I went and tried to recontroll him to finish the eggs off. All I know is my second attempt went much better and worked.

Because he's considered your pet, it will work and heal him up to full health, but it'll also break Mind Control. But then you can just click the orb again and he'll be nice and refreshed.

I don't have Exhiliration, but you can still solo it without.

How I did it was I killed the three guys by orb, then dropped traps right on top of myself. Started the MC, and had Razogore destroy eggs on my platform first, then work his way around the room. I slept any dragonkin I could which really helped. By the time MC ended Razorgore was on the far platform.

I then dropped traps again and re-MCed (if your health is low you should use a healing potion before re-MCing). By the time this round of MC ended, most of the eggs were gone and there were sleeping dragonkin everywhere. I used a healing potion since I was around 30, 35% health, dropped more traps, re-MCed and finished off the last eggs.

Razorgore finished with 40% of his health and I had about 70%.

Odd enough this was the only boss I had some trouble with rest of the bosses went without a hitch

AQ40,Naxx,MC (LOL),and the rest of bwl where easier then razorgore combined -_-

Next reset I am going to try the Exhiliration methode. if it makes it easier why do it the hard way XD.

Oh, right. I did the Exhilaration thing this week. It makes it loleasy to do on Hunter. Got 2/3 pets now for BWL. Just missing Chrominius. ; ;

Ditto that here; first time soloing and got the hatchling. <3 The big key tip that I pulled from this thread was not breaking the MC early in order to frequently kill adds. Only needed one exhilaration to keep him up. Barrage helped a TON for the adds I took out.

Thanks XD I just looked at what I got for Cow and I got the hawk one. Still I will try this sometime! I got lucky on my DK in AQ40 today so I hope I've still got that luck.

One thing i noticed when i was controlling Razorgore, i was literally down to 4-5 eggs and was about 64% health on Razorgore himself.... i dont remember how much damage he was taking at that point in time cause i wasnt really paying attention and also really wanted to test out the Exhilaration talent, but i think i could of very well done it without the talent o.o i'll try next week since my lvl 85's are particularly squishy and actually died loooooooong before razorgore did ._.

I was able to solo it last week without knowing about Exhilaration working on him, so it's definitely possible. Exhilaration just makes it so incredibly worry free, though. You can let him get pretty low and just pop the ability and.. oh hey, he's back at full life. I think I finished at about 90% health and Raz was barely dented after healing him with Exhilaration and a second MC to finish off the few eggs left.

The adds die really fast for me. One Glaive Toss and a Multishot to get any stragglers Glaive missed is enough to clear them all off me when I lose control of Raz the first time.

I've only managed it on one 85 - my Blood DK.

I can heal more damage than they can deal to me, and for some reason, they all ignore him and go straight for me. I think Vengeance is proccing their threat or something.

But as for hunters, how do you guys go about him? Adds will still attack him after you drop Mind Control, it's always been like that. So AoEing them after you drop it typically ends up hurting him quite a bit. Does Exhilaration do enough healing to pull them off him?

I found this solo technique on youtube, works like a breeze. The only requisite is some sort of ability like Disengage to get your toon from the ledge to the top of the alcove in order to bug out the npcs twice (which is what stops the adds from respawning at all and leaves you free to break all the eggs in peace)

The strat:

Kill the two melee orcs, leave summoner alive, taunt boss, get up onto the ledge next to the ramp, use w/e special ability you have to get over to the top of the alcove (Disengage or Engineers can use nitro boost), run right up to the wall and hide untill the summoner yells and sends the adds away. Jump down, rinse and repeat killing the two melee orcs, leave summoner up, Grab Razer's attn, jump the ledge, wait for despawn, now jump down, kill adds, MC razer, clear the room of eggs in peace and collect loot.
