For letting my dream mount drop. *w* Took 32 runs on multiple toons but...It finally dropped...
I was stunned and trying not to scream while my parents were around. Also proving both mounts can still drop off of 10 man...Though I got my blue drake back in wrath so sadly that extra mount is sitting in my bags...
I am never getting off of this drake...Ever...
Happy Holidays everyone! May that one dream mount finally drop for you these comming weeks! <3
Snowy- If I could give you the blue drake I would! D| Though I have gotten at least 2 people in my guild the blue drake while I was trying for the Azure...So that's something. I'm hoping that one day Blizz will make these mounts tradable...So I will be hanging onto it. Plus I could never just...Delete it...I'd feel SO bad. D;
Junrei- at 90 Maly is very easy as a hunter. I don't even put my pet into Tenacity. Now here are my tips.
-Run BM and have a spirit beast. Having something with Spirit Mend is another heal for you just in case. After he tosses you up in the air you will have aggro, not your pet so be careful. He tends to like your face after that part for a bit and even with growl and feign.
-MAKE SURE YOU KILL THE SPARKS! They don't have to be on top of each other just don't let them get to Maly...He hurts when he gets them. Not enough to kill your pet but enough for you to spam your heal pet button.
-The hardest part of the fight is phase 3. The most important part of this is your drake rotation. When you get on your drake, spam your 3(heal) button until you are at the max stacks, when the fight starts up again your rotation is 1-1-2-3. DO NOT skip a step in your rotation. It will always be 1-1-2-3. Just move left or right out of the static fields. Oh, when you first go up on your drake make sure to move back since you will be in melee range. Keep this in mind. ;3
And that's it. It's pretty simple once you get it. I've been teaching people in my guild how to do it. XD He's really easy and you have a chance at two beautiful mounts. Why shouldn't you do it? =3
I've been soloing this every week on my Hunter and Shaman ever since they made it so you can enter solo. My 85 Hunter is still a little too weak to do it and my Druid gets her face chewed off.
Anywho, as Twitchapher said, it's a pretty easy fight for Hunters at 90. I actually don't even bother to kill the sparks. I normally have my max DPS line up for Stampede(worm, raptor, quilin, cat/sb, serpent), although I've done it with 5 cats as well. If you have the Misdirect Glyph I would suggest equipping it for the fight. I always forget to carry the dusts or whatever it is now that lets you swap Glyphs, so I just have to wait for Misdirect to come back up after the tornado, but he's normally about ready to fly away right after the tornado for me. Take total advantage of him talking at that point, too. Try and slap him down as much as you can for the drake phase.
For the drake phase, also as mentioned, 1-1-2-3 is your rotation once the fight starts. Now that I have a good idea how long it takes for Maly to become targetable, I space out the HoT(3) so I have the max time on the stack of 5 right before Maly becomes attackable. Then it's just 1-1-2-3 over and over. His basic roation will be focus twice then toss the AoE spark, so if you can multitask your 1-1-2-3 while counting his focuses, you shouldn't have to worry about ever getting hit by the spark cloud. As the second focus on you gets close to ending, just side strafe until the spark cloud pops up and you can stop. If you're moving while he tosses it, it shouldn't hit you when it appears. If it does it's normally a single tick of damage. Obviously keep moving if you're still getting hit. >>;
I will often accidentally hit 3 twice during my rotation. If I do that I just hit 1 once and then 2 3, then start the 1-1-2-3 over again. (Example: 1-1-2-3-3-1-2-3-1-1-2-3-1-1-2-3-) If I don't adjust the rotation the fire stack on Maly will drop off, which isn't bad, but sucks. Most important part is keeping stacks up.
My Shaman is a bit tougher and takes a little while longer, but can do it. I have to stop and heal up once and a while, specially if sparks get to him. Basically it's a whittle him down and keep myself alive until drake phase. It's cake once it gets to the drake phase, though.
All in all, if you can get him to drake phase you should have no issues.
