The Ultimate Aki Pet
It's official: I can now defeat Aki every single time with not three, not two, but *one* pet. The Anubisath Statue is so overpowered against this girl that it's funny. *And* thanks to it, I am able to bring even a level 1 pet into the battle and get full XP without having to worry about it being killed. I've been able to beat her with either of her pets leading, and actually *prefer* to have the dragon lead nowadays.
Here's the crux of it: the dragon's electrical storm is counterable with sandstorm, which changes the weather and lowers damage taken. Your statue can then destroy the dragon fairly easily because of its punching. Once the cricket comes out, keep the sandstorm up and it can't hurt you. At all. The swarm does 0 damage due to the damage reduction of the storm, and that's the only damage that Chirrup is able to do. At this point, you can bring out any creature who needs XP that you want, take a swing, and put it back in your lineup. The statue should be at full or close-to health when you get to the otter, having humanoid-healed everything that was thrown at it in the battle before. Then, when the otter dives, use Reflection (only *after* it's under the surface; it won't dive if you use it at the start of the attack) and you'll 'parry' the hit and deliver your own. All other attacks, it's just a matter of attrition: you'll do more damage than it, heal more, and by keeping the sandstorm up every cooldown you'll do massive damage because it's Flying vs Aquatic.

Re: The Ultimate Aki Pet
After a series of annoying misses, I'll have to reduce this to 'I can beat Aki 9 times out of 10'. But then again, bad luck can hit against any boss in the same way. Badly-timed misses can get you killed.
But! I'm definitely glad I can hopefully help a few people out with this one. And pray they don't nerf it!

Anubis! Anubis! I just love anubis stuff, so the fact that he is so awesome makes me a happy panda.

Re: The Ultimate Aki Pet
I read on warcraft pets yesterday about how op the little anubisath is. At that time I was leveling a different pet and thought crap now I have to level him instead. I started power leveling him and at level 9 i decided to see if he could survive a battle of his own just to see how op this little fella is. Well, no joke, he is super op, it took a while due to a lot of misses, but my little level 9 anubi killed two level 17s by himself lol. I love that little guy.

Re: The Ultimate Aki Pet
yeah, it does on the bright side the longer you spend on beating up chirrup, the more health you regenerate before taking on the otter
I have also found the anubisath idol working wonders against the whispering spirit, seeing how many dots and multi-hits are he and his pets using.

Re: The Ultimate Aki Pet
I don't deny that, depending on your luck against Chirrup, it can take quiiiiiite a while. But for me, 'quite a while' is still better than 'getting damaged'. I might be more patient (read: stubborn) than many, though.Quivering wrote:This pet does indeed work wonders against Aki...

Yep, the battle taking a long time is a small price to pay for how well this works. I just wish you could abandon the quest and keep battling lol.

Re: The Ultimate Aki Pet
I didn't see this mentioned in this thread, but be wary of using low level Elemental pets. Elementals ignore weather, so Chirrup will still dmg them through a sandstorm. This means they will likely take two waves of his attack (the first from the free turn Chirrup gets when you swap in a pet, and the next round of attacks).

Re: The Ultimate Aki Pet
Oooo. I actually hadn't thought of that. I guess I never tried to put an elemental in against Chirrup.Quivering wrote:I didn't see this mentioned in this thread, but be wary of using low level Elemental pets. Re: The Ultimate Aki Pet
With the change to Deflection, I don't think this can be done with just the idol unless Stormlash goes first.
And out of 30+ resets, I have never seen Stormlash first since 5.2 -_-
Good while it lasted I guess.
Its a shame they changed Reflection. It was one of the very few interesting abilities to me.

Re: The Ultimate Aki Pet
Still works for me, even if cherrup goes first, although it's usually very tight with her last pet. Still, he's a beast against her.

Re: The Ultimate Aki Pet
How much health does your idol have when you get to Whiskers? I was at ~200, using Deflection on the Lightning Storm.Tsuki wrote:Still works for me, even if cherrup goes first, although it's usually very tight with her last pet. Still, he's a beast against her.
Re: The Ultimate Aki Pet
Yeah, around 300-200. I usually end up getting lucky with Whiskers missing a lot due to sandstorm, and I always make sure I have sandstorm ready when Stormlash is about to die.

Re: The Ultimate Aki Pet
The order in which the pets are used does not change in 5.2. Before 5.2 you would reset, and she would use a different pet. Now it's the critter that goes first. I will try out the idol with the critter and see what happens.Quivering wrote:With the change to Deflection, I don't think this can be done with just the idol unless Stormlash goes first.

I believe if you can believe out of nothing an explosion (big bang) happened then how far fetched can god be?
