THIS. Holy crap, I don't get all the hate for the guy. I personally have only read Day of the Dragon and its sequel, but I never noticed anything wrong with the writing style.

Anyway, oh man am I excited for this! I've always adored the dragons of WoW, so this will be amazing. <3

It is a pretty dramatic image. I really like it. As for the wings... I assume the Titans had already been tampering with them so they're still like protos, but with bits that resemble their later forms. I assume the Titans were still around at this point? Maybe not.

They became the aspects because they were the ones capable of defeating Galakrond. That's why the Titan's chose them specifically to give the power.

Probably along the lines of "They already wield great power and know how to control it, so they know how to handle having power."

...and so they realise that even without their 'aspectship' they still have their power, Kalec regains his self-esteem and is no longer kicked puppy, and then all the dragons go out to rock it out I mean kick some sha/demon asses.

BTW, is it possible that TLPD is a Proto-Nozdormu himself, who's fast forwarded himself into his future/our present? After serving as a mount and having a look around the future, may he return to his times and become the Nozdormu we know in our time?

It could be or it could just be a normal one. I mean the Argent crusade use them as flying mounts so I think it's from the same place.

Yeah, I can just imagine in End Time him leaping onto to your back, smacking you about the head, and yelling, "See how you like it! See how you like it!"

I think people say that as they do look like nothing but beasts compared to their "more evolved" relatives but I think they are smart. I'm sure if someone went up to one and said "hi" they might say hi back before eating him

Ah this is why I thought differently:

The flavour text from your journal reads:

Proto-drakes are the primitive ancestors of modern dragons. By popular legend, the titans created the Aspects from Galakrond, a massive proto-drake whose remains can still be seen in the Dragonblight. Proto-drakes are generally bestial and display none of the great intelligence and wisdom of true dragons.

Of course, the "by popular legend" part means Blizzard has leeway to change the story. If it's now the case that the Titans didn't fiddle with the future Aspects until after they defeat Galakrond then maybe they have.

The "bestial" part of the text is probably still true, though. But maybe the proto-Aspects already were smarter and more powerful than regular proto-drakes, much like we see intelligent and/or demi-god-like beasts pop up in the game world now and then. Even turtles that can talk and have harpies for wives (figurative, not literal harpies ).

Hopefully this doesn't suck for people without portable e-readers of some sort. I'm not quite sure how all that works.
