Well my spectral tiger funds are back down to 120k. =/ I have been saving since the last few months of cata and had hit 238k this week. A friend saw a guy on his server who was selling the epic version for 240k and he was kind enough to talk to the seller for me. I was told that he was willing to transfer- I was so excited!
I have my friend give him my real id and I ask him if 238k would be ok. He says yes and we talk for a bit. He sounds like a pretty nice guy and says he will transfer over. A few minutes later he shows up on my realm.
That’s strange, I thought it took longer for a transfer to finalize.” *shrug* Never had to transfer though so I must have been wrong.
I ask if he has the mount, he says yes but he has to log off for the night so we meet up again the next day.
“Can you please fly me to bb so I can go redeem my code for you?” oh, it was a code, that explains how he got to my server so fast. I’m a little annoyed since he had made it sound like he already had the in-game item but I complied. It made sense really, it sounded like a nice way to cut back on the costs of transferring since he would only have to transfer back to his home server now.
“How about we go half and half? You pay 120k, I use my code and then you pay the other 120k when I trade the mount to you. I hope you understand. I just don’t know how much the mount sells for on this server and I don’t want to end up having it stuck here.”
I consider this for a moment and hesitantly agree, having done similar things when trading cross faction. “Ok one second let me get the code for you. You know how to redeem it right?”
“you should be the one to use it. I think it may be against the rules for me to buy an out of game code. I would rather you activate it and trade the in-game item to me when I give you the other 120k just to be safe.”
“That’s against my company’s policy.”
.....
......
wait...what?
Image
That was his last proper English sentence. It was kind of scary how quickly his English started falling apart after that. “I call boss now he by code you lyke get mount very cheap.”

A gold farmer? A GOLD FARMER?! What…how…why?! When did they learn to speak human and act like players? >.< Usually I can spot them from a zone away- usually because they are floating in the air and making big cheesy signs out of human priests! At this point I have to admit that I really let my guard down here. I had gotten used to just using the honor system with friends and guildies to be honest. I would even loan out rare pets to players free of charge so they could capture higher lvl battle pets or earn achievements… I had gotten soft.
It has been a good six months since I saw a gold farmer and well over a year since I ever had one try to talk to me. (My server is dead so they don’t bother) so yeah… I was rusty…and dumb.
I’m starting to panic and then he starts spitting out a spectral tiger code. “Ok that first fithteen numbers in code. Boss says give other half code wen u give another 120k. I make screenshots he on skype say yes.”
Great, not only did I just give 120k to a farmer, but he didn’t have the mount, he had someone out there buying codes and he didn’t even spit out enough code numbers to make this even remotely worth the risk. “Hold on, I thought you said you had the in game mount. Then you said you already had a code and would redeem it. I didn’t know you were going to go out there and buy a code in exchange for gold. I already gave you 120k and you said I would pay the rest when you gave me the mount.”
“I give you mount. But first pay boss. He give other part code u give gold first.”
“I don’t feel comfortable with this and I’m pretty sure that’s against game rules and I don’t want to get banned. I will give you the other 120k when you trade the in-game item to me. I’m not trusting you with more gold unless I know you really have the mount. You can redeem the code yourself and trade it to me here or you can use the COD mailing option in game.”
“That take too long! How I no you have gold you cheap and boss pay real money he lose money if you don’t pay!”
After that he just got stuck in a loop. I asked for a refund, he says no and that I should pay his boss blah blah blah. So I decide I would rather cut my losses and walk off with my remaining 120k. It didn’t sound like it was worth risking what I had left. Even if he was going to give me a mount I would feel like I had to look over my shoulder after buying it.
So I turn to blizzard for help and of course I get the same answer I get for every other ticket I send in: Tough shit. We can’t restore gold spent on items that don’t exist in the game yet. Go farm more.
It was frustrating knowing I tried to follow game rules and got double backstabbed by both parties for it. Makes me wonder if I should have just given him his damn gold but I doubt it. -.- This has set me back by months but hopefully I can make some of it back by xserver pet trading and ghost iron when the next patch hits. Poor friend is so embarrassed for pointing me towards him and I just feel dumb.

Oh well. >.<
To try and end on a lighter note: here are my latest mounts. I finally went back and did the TB quests in order to get this ugly sucker. Not a fan of algae green but at least he’s not so common now.
Image

I like the purple eyes on this one. =) Can’t wait to get the other mounts from here.
Image

And finally, I got my bone drake! All I needed was once bitten twice shy and my friend Deth was willing to come over on his alt to get bitten for me. I was drooling ovr this mount for years so its nice to finally have it. =)

Image

I should have most of my ICC25 achieves completed this Saturday along with the last achievement needed for my mount from DS! And now for your enjoyment: Flying Bears.
Image
and that has been my week. The End

IDK I'd keep opening tickets, its not fair because he SCAMMED you. Which is against the rules, he said he had the actual item which would mean it would have existed in game. He lied...idk. I'd keep going at it.

Id open more tickets and see if you can get the gold back. Hopefully you can get a gm that is actually.. nice. Blizzard really needs to actually do more about gold sellers and they dont. But never ever trust people unless they have the mount and even then becareful because of dupers. Id for sure report the guy as well. On the wow forums there are people who sell tcg mounts there maybe you will find someone willing to sell it to you.

Yeah... keep talking to GMs. :/ He should have his account have action taken against it, the gold returned... it's not unlike if you pay someone gold to not kill a rare and they kill it anyway. Cept it's with a mount. And obviously it's a gold farmer. I'm so sorry that happened, though.

I have put in two tickets so far but I guess it wouldnt hurt to try again. The waiting time is so long though that I am almost never online once they get around to talking to me.

EDIT: almost forgot to upload this. I got my last DS achiv done last night! ^.^ Purple is by farm my favorite skin for these guys so I am really enjoying this one. I also knocked out a few more ICC 25m achivs and hope to have that done by next week as well.

Grats Sylvi on the TB, ICC & DS mounts ;)

Sorry to hear about the scam.... that's not good at all. I'd definitely keep opening tickets about it until you get a GM that sounds like they are willing to help you. I get the feeling a lot of GM's just get 'sick of it' at some point during the day/week and then don't give a rats about things, where as getting a fresh GM will be more likely to help you.

Really is RNG luck of the draw with what kind of GM you get :( But keep trying.

IDK my friend got hacked by a gold farmer/seller and when her account was restored there was 30k sitting there from the hacker...the GM let her keep it.

This makes me think you should get your real gold back. @_@

Gratz on all your beatiful mounts and sucks about the scam. I wouldn't of even given the 120k to start with. A safer way is to show the money in a trade window and then cancel the trade till u saw the tiger there. That way you show you do have the gold but won't be trading without the mount. Keep trying with the gm's and fingers crossed for you :)

I will keep trying. @.@ I have kind of lost faith in the GMs though. I remember a time when it was a twenty minute wait and I would get a live gm every time. They would talk to me, spend time on even my smallest of problems. (Like a pet showing up as a cube and my poor noobish self not knowing why) and they would sometimes even leave with a joke. Now all I get are 1-3 day queues for a copy and paste answer that sometimes doesn’t even relate to my problem. >.< Makes me wonder if they care anymore.
I do recall a friend loaning her gold to a scammer once and a GM restored everything she lost and I think the player got banned. Not sure why my problem is different from that. Guess I will try another ticket tomorrow and hope for the best. I learned my lesson, that’s for sure. -.-

P.S I have decided to take a break from Aeonaxx again due to my sudden lack of gold. In hopes that ghost Iron will become worth farming again, I have started to hoard it and max out my farming perks. I got the goggles and (finally) got the gathering gloves. Then tonight I decided I was feeling a little lucky so I headed down to the mines and lookie what I found. =)
Image
It’s not a massive perk, but it is nice. I was getting about two gems for every lap I did around 4 winds. The very first & very last node gave me blue quality gems. So that was nice. ;)

They aren't serverbound, any gm can pick up any ticket from any server.

Well all the ones I've had to deal with have been nice. So I disagree when people say they don't care. But of course that's all my opinion on it.

There are a lot of GMs who give shitty tickets. I remember, I got a C/P answer from a GM completely unrelated to my problem. I submitted a complaint against that GM, and it turns out that dozens of people had the same problem I'd had from that GM. C/P answers unrelated to the question or problem at hand. No one who'd submitted a ticket with a response from this GM came into the thread to defend him. I think it got to 2 or 3 pages full of complaints. There are bad GMs. All you have to do is re-open the ticket if you get a bad GM response and say "That didn't help. Could someone else please help me?". At least, that's what I did after I'd submitted my complaint.

Also, grats on even more mounts! :D

I'm not saying there aren't. xD I often get the good ones. I had a... 20 minute convo with one once. Mostly about Mt. Dew and cookies... s/he was really entertaining to talk to and I really wish there were more GMs like that. But I'm saying that there is a process to get around the bad ones. And mostly, just re-submitting tickets and pushing through the increasingly common bad ones is the way to go about it.

Grats on the pick Sylv... I'm yet to find that one on my DK :/ Got the gloves on her, which is nice, as Soph already has the "tauren herb" perk.

Keep us updated with the status of the tickets... hopefully something 'ok' happens from it.

I’m not saying there are no good Gms left- but it has been a long time since I ran into one. I did have a reasonable one talk to me after a few failed tickets about Aeonaxx though. He didn’t help me, but he was polite and not getting a C/P response was nice.
I wish there was a button you could click, like a “preferred/recommended GM” option. That way if you had a really good experience with a GM, you had a higher chance of getting that GM again. But that’s just wishful thinking. =P

I put in another ticket. It started out at 14hrs and started gaining extra hours as time went on though, so I have a long wait ahead of me. Hope I luck out eventually.

@ Soph: It really is a nice pick. :3 I wouldn’t say it was *amazing* but it was worth hunting down. The drop rate on gems is low but not so low that it’s frustrating. It’s more like “Oh look at that, I got a gem off this one. What a nice surprise.” There’s profit to be made but only if you’re already planning on a solid farm.

EDIT: Got another C/P answer when I logged on so I clicked “need more help” and re-submitted my ticket. Lo and behold, the queue time was less than an hour! I eagerly awaited my talk to a real gm, putting off all other activates and waiting with baited breath. “Your ticket will be serviced soon.”
Waiting…
Waiting…
Waiting…
My tickets flashing! Ohmygoshtheyaretalkingtome!
…Oh look a C/P response >_> I guess I will just add ticket number five to my collection.
Anyone want to show me how they would word the ticket? Because I am obviously not speaking gm.

(aww yeah double post!)
Sorry I have been so Quiet. new patch has me runing all over the place. ;)
Well I managed to solo a few adult dierhorns and I got myself a primal egg. Cracked it open last night and got the red raptor! :D ohmygoshiloveraptorsomuch! Gottacatchemall! Now to go try and get another one. What a pain to farm! @.@
Image
Also been farming warbringers. Kind of fun to solo but some jerks keep taunting off of me and running around flagged. Haven’t seen the mount drop yet. The only one that dropped a mount got ninja tagged away from me. X( but here’s to hoping for better luck today! (also feel free to invite me to your dead servers. ;) Arygos is known for its farmers.)
