Finally admitted to myself that my Galvantula was nearly completely useless, which was a very hard thing to do. She was so dang cute, but died in one hit no matter what hit her. I replaced her with a Petilil (soon to be Lilligant) and there's a marked improvement.

Also holy crap, Samurott's Water Tail is the most aggravating move ever. It one-hits EVERYTHING.

I've seen/caught a few shinies. A carvanah, a magikarp (most useless shiny ever), a deerling that i gave to a friend, and a geodude that killed itself rather then be caught (wild pokemon should not have moves that can kill them). I also have a shiny female tepig, zubat, and dratini from trades. Still working on a shiny eevee and deino. I have yet to hatch a shiny from an egg.

Oh. And I caught a shiny male zigzagoon. Almost ran from that fight but it was one of the few times I had sound turned on, so I heard this weird noise and looked at the screen closer.

Since we are sharing shiny stories...

My brother had a cheat for Pokemon Colosseum that made all pokemon in that game shiny. He's got a ton of shinies that way and I'm still super jealous of that. The only legit shiny he ever found is his rapidash which he caught in soulsilver.

So far I've caught a shiny geodude (silver), rattata (crystal), camerupt (ruby), hariyama (ruby) and machoke (firered). I glitched a ton of shiny dittos using the trade the shiny gyarados to red/blue, teach it mimic and only that move and fight wild dittos. Also saw a shiny kakuna in silver but it was in the bug catching contest and my hoothoot killed it with a critical. I also have a haxed shiny dodrio. My boyfriend made it for me with max stats and named her Hahadori since shiny dodrios are green, hehe.

My shiny camerupt is my favorite though. He's black.

you have a higher chance of finding a shiny if you fight the same pokemon over and over. Audino is one of the easiest shinies to farm for since there are areas where it is the only thing you will find in shaking grass, so you know its all you'll encounter. (btw its purple instead of pink, hurray!!)

Random Shinies are the best though. i remember doing some EV training really late at night, fighting Buezels over and over, and at almost 2am I sorta fell asleep but my DS made a really funny sound so I looked at the screen and thought "thats an odd color...OH SHT Capture dont kill capture dont kill!!"

I use the repel trick to farm Vulpixes so that's all I do find in the grass. Stocked on 10 repels, level 14 Ditto as my main Pokemon so all that appear are level 15s in that area, and the only Pokemon that can be level 15 in that area are Vulpixes. It does mean that I have to rinse and repeat though, repel, run around, repel, run around, turn the DS off and on again when I run out of repels. There's also sometimes long periods of time that I don't run into a single thing but that rarely seems to happen. Oh, I also have to remember to change the time on my DS a lot because Vulpix is most common during the day. It's very tedious but I'm normally sat all cosy in bed watching Pokemon episodes when I do it so I don't have to concentrate so hard on just that. ^^

Ohhh, I didn't know that about ditto...is that a normal ability or a hidden one?

It's nothing to do with Ditto, it's the fact that I have a level 14 Pokemon at the start of the party. When you use repel, the only Pokemon that won't appear are Pokemon the same level or lower than the Pokemon at the start of your party. So because my Ditto is level 14, level 14s and below won't appear, and the only level 15s I can find in that one specific area I'm hunting in are Vulpixes.

Shiny stories, shiny stories.

Oh, there was the time I found a shiny geodude. I panicked and thought it was a virus or a bug in the game. (I didn't know about shinies.) so I freaked out and ran in case it tried to corrupt my game. Later found out from my dad that it was a goddamn shiny. I have never kicked myself so hard.

And then there was the time my brother wanted an army of gastlies, so he lived and breathed in Lavender Town on my fire red. And then he found a shiny gastly. We still have it--reminds me I need to trade the thing over to my Black copy.

... I found a shiny ninjask once in Sapphire. I miss that game. I think Sapphire and Emerald are up in my top favorites. I suspect I'm in the minority on that one. Also, I will probably spend weeks picking out a starter for X or Y...

This too as well. I was really interested in Tepig in Black/White, but the evolutions really put me off (Please don't be another fire/fighting!)

Oh and it looks like they added another evolution for Eevee! Looks like maybe it keeps the normal-typing, but not known for sure yet.

Well, I'm thinking Fennec or Froakie(The frog one? Can never spell it). But yeah. And that new eevee evolution!

I'm hoping Fennekin's evolutions arent horrible looking.... I havent had much feeling for any starter since 3rd Gen with Typhlosion and Meganium. I'm a sucker for foxes so I'll probably choose Fennekin regardless when I begin but hold off on advancing forward after I can trade with other games and store it with my bf while I reset and roll the one I like the evolutions to. If I end up not liking any of the evolutions, I'll be shelving the Fennekin at first chance and bring in my transferred team I've been breeding.

I am really hoping for more quadruped final evolution's for the starters (especially fennekin) Really hoping that the final evolutions will be well done.

Got a call today from EB, I can go pick up my copy of MD:Gates to infinity tomorrow morning :D. been squirelling away items in my demo version so I'll have a good footing on the full game! Haven't played a MD game since they initially came out so hoping I can play through to the end and find pokemon i really like to team up with.

This. My absolute adoration for fennec foxes will lead me to Fennekin most likely anyway. Chespin looks adorable though. Not too fond of the frog.

Thisthisthisthis. Kinda sick of the boring looking anthros we keep getting.
