Leveling A New Toon!

Unread post by Silivren »

Ok so heres the deal, I'm having a tremendously hard time deciding what class to level! I dont really want to level a hunter at the moment but I want a change.. My choices(personally) are as follows..

Druid - I've played a druid before but never a feral druid. What are their current strengths/weaknesses? How do they rank with other classes? Are they easy/and or fun?

Warrior - This one is one I've NEVER done but fury looks oh so tempting, I've got a little Pandaren I named Yen just sitting there staring at me currently.. Same deal as the druid with the questions and all that jazz.

Priest - I've never leveled one of these either, shadow looks fun but my friend told me its REALLY boring..

Rogue - Never leveled one of these either, they always have such cool armor.. Heres looking at you t15.

I could always look at monks too but I was thinking one of the older classes personally, just for some fun and to conquer something thats older that I havent done before.

I currently have a 88 holy/shadow priest, but I haven't been into her shadow much yet, but healing is way fun as a holy. Even as disc, it's still super fun.

I Also have a rogue in her 40's, and she's really good at PvP now, but I haven't played her since patch 5.2. The tiers do look amazing, and as a rogue, I think it's just button pressing. BUt then again, I really have no idea what I'm doing on her. both are still pretty fun.

As for the other two, my warrior is prot and in her 30's, and my druid is a healer, so can't help ya there

My monk just hit 90 and i tank on her. It's fun and totally different than being a hunter.

Have you tried warlocks?

Feral Druids: Personally, I find them quite fun. They get boring if you don't like cat form, though. Unlike a rogue, your character will always look exactly the same. No new weapons, armor, anything. So that can be a problem, especially for me, as I get bored quickly. Their playstyle is one I find fun, though; fairly tough and very powerful.

Fury Warrior: Can't say much. Only played fury pre-changes. Back then, I found it boring and underpowered.

Priest: I love my shadow/holy priest. Shadow is a lot of fun once you get past level 20 or so. It starts slow, but a point hits where you can just kill anything. Healing is really fun too, holy healing is definitely my favorite. Lots of direct heals, which I like, and a powerful enough HoT to keep people topped off.

Rogue: My rogue is only 50-something, but he's fun enough. VERY squishy. Pretty powerful, though! And stealth is my best friend.

That does help, I was debating Monk and Priest at the current moment. Its a tough decision. :(

I think you just have to try playing them, and see how it feels for you.
Before MoP I almost had one of each class at max level (minus death knight, he only got to 82), and they were all fun to play, so I kept switching between them, when I got bored with playing hunter all the time.

And some might not like the classes you suggest, and some may like them. It's all about what you like I think.
In classic WoW my second most played character was a rogue, and I enjoyed it very much. And after that it was my warrior.
But in Cataclysm I levelled a druid to max by mostly healing, and it was very fun. Same with a priest. And I really got into tanking on my warrior, which I had levelled as fury before.
But as I already said, it's all about which classes and specs you like to play. So again, I think you should just try them, and see how it feels.

Good luck! :)

I'll be waiting on the highland, with its wonderful serenity.
Where the stars glow and the brooks flow, that's my way of life.
When the mountains on the highland, and the nature is surrounding me, when the wind blows, that's all I need.

I'm curently deciding between a priest and a warlock to narrow it down. Both have shadowy awesome aspects to them.. My friend said warlocks are a bit easier to grasp but I'm not sure.. Any opinions on the two from anyone here?

Warlock by far.

I am loving my lock, I have leveled her from 1-89 (almost to 90!) in two months. She is way too much fun, and coming from a hunter she is a nice adjustment. I play demonology, and with glyph of the imp swarm, I have my minion then half a dozen little I,ps running around most times-it is so fun and I cackle when I get them all out at once. It is a great class with a lot of neat abilities. Drain life works well as a heal and aoe dps on really large pulls, so many minions... Loving it.

I have a level 66 shadow priest that I do not like nearly as much, can hardly get into her shadow spec. Some nice abilities but nothing that I enjoyed enought to keep leveling her.
