A new interesting wolf tame?
Today I was leveling in Kun-lai and I happened upon a miniboss for a quest, the Ordo Warbringer I think he was called. I noticed he summons 4 wolves when he's halfway and becomes immune... Guess what? I hovered over they were beast, my instincts said "Lore it!" So I did. "Tamable!"
They have a spectral-ish look, but look like white worgs with -faint- lavender highlights, they're about 5-10% translucent (not very translucent, hard to tell without looking close) and they have a special Portrait that resembles the icon for spirit wolves (the ability) I have dismissed and resummoned this wolf and it kept its faint translucency and its protrait!
http://www.wowhead.com/npc=60127 This is the boss that summons these wolves
I don't see any IDs for the NPCs he summons in WoWhead, but you'll know it when you hit 50% and cannot hurt him anymore.
I also noticed this 'skin' is NOT on petopia anywhere! The closest is 'white worg'
Maybe Ghostly White would work for this fellow? Also in my included screenshot please take note you can faintly see through him and see the floor.
EDIT: Upon checking more thoroughly, there is a note about a 'White Saber Worg' but nothing about this particular pet NPC, as well as no pictures of a 'ghostly' one.

Hey there and welcome
Thanks for the report.
Those wolves ("Spirit Worg") are actually on Petopia, under "Ghostly White Saber Worg": http://www.wow-petopia.com/look/worgwhite_ghost.html . There's so many wolves to list now it's easy to miss them.

Actually they've got the purple highlights of a regular white worg, and they're not that ghostly, they're barely ghostly at all... But yeah, I didn't read it, sorry for the false alarm T w T
It just looked DRAMATICALLY different from the icon used on petopia

Re: A new interesting wolf tame?
Don't have a special portrait on unit frames when summoned? I wonder if that portrait would carry on to the tamed pet.

Re: A new interesting wolf tame?
They changed the portrait for some of the sabre worgs in 5.0. Or maybe it was 5.1. I think only Pandaria ones were affected. This must be one of them.

There are wolves with that 'Blue Ghostly" portrait still. I saw one just yesterday morning and noted it as it was not something I'd seen before. It was on a tamed white Northrend worg named Ginger

Oh it could have been from pandaria, it was just on the “northrend” model, the skinny fanged version.
Sorry I just seem to still call them northrend worgs as that’s when they were introduced.

Yes the pandaria one is the only one with that 'ability-esque' appearing portrait (looks like it belongs on a tool bar, and has nothing to do with skins)
