I hate - HATE - being in a position where I have to be the reasonable authority figure and not retaliate while someone hurls insults at me. Even though if the insults had been directed at someone else, I would have acted appropriately in their defense.

Sigh.

It's a thankless job indeed.

Happily, I got an apology not long afterwards, so at least my actions ended up being justified. An apology after I had acted would have seemed terribly insincere.

Still....this is likely to happen again and I *will* have to do something and then there will undoubtedly be retaliation.....sigh.

Alas, it's a job that needs to be done. Hope for the best, prepare for the worst.

21ish, I think. If I hadn't been patient, then she would have already gotten herself into BOILING hot water. I'm at the end of my rope trying to reason with her because I do have faith in her getting it, but she fights me at every turn and claims I hate her (which I don't).

The personal insults were over the line, especially with me being in the position I am. I could have ended it right there and told her so. But I didn't. Not because I am weak, but because I have this ridiculous belief that this is a better way of getting through to her. Punishing her for mouthing off would only make her mouth off more in the long run.

So yeah. Patience is not the problem. Having too much patience might be. Rest assured, if she insults ANYONE again, she's getting her ass nailed to the wall. It's not my job to take a verbal beating so she doesn't get punished for stupidity. And besides, that'd be her third strike, since I was not the first. Her choosing to insult me saved me the trouble of potentially revealing the first victim.

True and true but keep it as a 'second strike' incase she gets out of line. She doesn't need to know it. But keep it in 'documentation'.

I'll for a minute assume this is a workplace situation and you have my sympathy! I have this kind of stuff go on ALL the time. Ppl just generally crossing line with rudeness and nothing ever changes.

Example: Making casual chat with a colleage in the area where the lifts are...she turns her back on me to ignore me!! Like towards the wall! The hell?? We're about to get in a lift together and go the SAME floor and you think thats a good idea? Btw she did this infront of two others...so i ignored her and talked to the other 2 ppl. But still rude much?

Her e-mails to a male colleage are even worse...bold red type "how many times have I told you to do...." cc'ed to managers and myself...on what planet is that appropiate behaviour? Her team leader thinks she's just missunderstood (yeah right) and when others catch her out on it we're all mean monsters....ffs....

Yep, that's the weird thing! I actually hold all the cards, but she is the one on the power trip, since I'm not acting on it.

But she's out of second chances, so that won't last.

This private RP I'm doing better not shove itself infront of my dearly coveted public one or I'm gonna flip tables. Sure the content is simple and easy cause it's not at all supposed to be formal but I can only RP to that theme so often. No RP will replace the one I pieced together from scratch for the first time ever. I just hope it doesn't die down to the point where it only gets a post or two a day. I know I'm in a crappy mood which is why I feel like this is what it is but meeeehhhhh I can't help it. Least it makes me feel better ranting about it. Maybe I'll feel better in a couple hours. Hopefully.

Most public RP's that I've seen end up at that point at some time... I pray that it will last a little while before that happens though.

Atm (well, this night thusfar) though, and still on topic of the private RP actually, my muse is dyyyying-ish. Maybe i'll get it back in the morning XD I can only post to the content so long before I get a little burnt out cause it's rather mood based and well, the partner im doing it with could frankly do it all night and day long so I feel bad if I leave it sitting in my inbox all day.... I need fanfics. I should find out Soch's tumblr. That'll help (probably ruin my mind though)

My opinion on this....she's used up her chances. Enough is enough. The next time she screws up, pull the lever/kick the chair out from under her and let her have it. You've got more than enough ammunition to use on her after all you've been through with her.

Absolutely zero motivation and so much work to do. I hate, hate, hate, hate stress. I can't handle it. As much as I love the idea of the course I'm on (even though the first year is full of bullshit, can't wait for next year.) it's just so stressful and I don't know if I'll be able to work in the industry like this. :/

You'll get used to the stress. The game industry is just like the animation one it's a very stressful job area but most people are used to it well untill deadlines show up that is! Damn deadlines >.>

RL friend person, I agree with almost all your opinions, but when it's a matter of personal preference (if I think certain body parts are pretty or not) then I'm allowed to have my own opinion. And seriously? I state my opinion and you tell me to "keep it down because that's what most people think"? This isn't a life-changing opinion! I don't think something is pretty! That's it! Just because lots of people happen to feel similar ways doesn't mean that my opinion is bad. I don't care if it was me against the world, I'd still feel the way I do!
