Profoundly moving video

Unread post by Sukurachi »

this was in the news this morning.
the video is worth watching for what spontaneously happens at around the one minute mark:

video

(it's a Maori long song)

A bit of palindromic wisdom:
"Step on no pets!"
Casual player.. don't raid, don't PvP. Suffer from extreme altitis
I love pets - combat or non.

I'll never understand how people can call themselves "Christian" and live in complete opposition to the very teachings of Christ. The hatred some of these people demonstrate is truly frightening.

I'm a Christian.
I was married in a church.

So obviously, not all Christians are bigots.

Anyway, the hatred of a few isn't the point of that video.
It's the beauty and love that humans are capable of that matters.

One of my favorite songs....

Pokarekare Ana....that song I learned was a traditional love song a very long time ago....very old, during the times when Latin wasn't dead.

And yet, here in Northern Ireland, a very similar bill was denied passing into law. Why?

Because of the religious views of the local government members who voted on the bill.

Words cannot describe the anger, disgust and shame I feel right now at my own country.

Odd cause my fiance just pointed out Ireland as a whole legalized gay marriage recently.

Northern Ireland is technically part of the UK and alot more "volatile" religiously historically so I guess unless the UK passes it.... Ireland (South) is abit different but i'd agree with 'odd' since its a Roman Catholic majority and that would be the last religion you'd expect to be for gay marriage.

Australia (states anyway) have bills before parliament atm but were interrupted by the state election (here in the west atleast - i've seen the bill) and 'caretaker' mode.

The Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland are not the same thing at all. Ireland is a sovereign state, whereas Northern Ireland is a part of the United Kingdom. Northern Ireland has been mainly self-governed since 1998, however.

So, while The Republic of Ireland has legalized gay marriage, it does not mean that Northern Ireland has.

It didn't say south or north. It just said "Ireland legalized gay marriage" in the image he showed me. So not like I'd know which part it meant. :P
