Well Boo! He is an amazing Doctor, ofcourse it took me a bit to warm up to him after David.......super sad face. This is where us fans get nervous on who will be next. But Im sure it will be the same as it always has, we are sad they are leaving, nervous on who might be the next one, and then will fall in love with the next Doctor.

I saw it coming since season 7 started, to be honest. No Doctor has lasted more than three seasons so far, and I wasn't expecting him to stay any longer than Tennent. I can't wait to see who gets the role next!

Lol 4 did if I remember correctly as he's the longest running doctor. He had quite a good number of seasons but then again I think everyone just genuinely loved him and didn't want him to leave. Tom Baker was charming! All hail the scarf.

Not too affected by this. While Smith had his good points, I really haven't been enjoying Doctor Who like I use to. Some of the newer episodes have just been very meh. The story writing and quality and complete redo of some of the things that Doctor Who is and has been didn't sit well with me. Smith wasn't bad at all, he had his own quirky way to the Doctor, Tennant will always be my Doctor. He was able to sell the most cheesey of lines or scenes given to him which is what I loved about him... and he was pretty good looking.

My only worry is that the new Doctor can respark that love I have for the series. I'd get so excited about Smith's seasons and would get so let down by them. =(

Agreed there Seil, the recent seasons haven't really struck me like the previous ones had. It's not the fault of the actors, I'm just not a huge fan of Moffat's writing, which is a shame. I hope the new Doctor can bring me back to the series, but I'm not sure exactly what can overcome a writer I don't like!

I hope the new stories are happier ones. Kinda getting a bit bored of the "super serious" Doctor who. I guess I'd like another fun adventure in space and time >.<

Matt Smith is unique. And Amazing.

He was entirely NOT the person they were looking for. They wanted someone older. And yet he completely wowed them and made the Doctor role his own. I didn't think anyone could follow on from David Tennant and yet he did.

They were lucky, though. I'm hoping that with the new casting they're lucky to get another Matt Smith show up. And by that I mean someone NOT like Matt Smith at all. Someone unique, with their own surprises and talents that will wow us all in unexpected ways.

We can hope, anyway. I don't envy the actor trying to follow on from those last two.

I wasn't really fond of Matt Smith as the Doctor, but as others have said... well, it's not his fault. I detest Moffet's writing. And I really do mean detest. Plot holes, consistency errors... Not to mention his incredible trouble writing women... I won't be sad to see Smith go, and that does make me sad. His seasons completely left me completely unaffected, and I truly hope they chose a new lead writer soon. I want to be able to enjoy Doctor Who again.
