Lame Excuse

Unread post by Falconer »

So some guys in my class found out I played WoW and were excited to play with me, but we were on different realms as well as factions, so I decided to roll a Tauren warrior on their realm. They decided to reroll as well so we could all lvl together, but one of them was not too happy about playing a Tauren. We told him he didn't have to, but he went along with us and rolled a Hunter. This was surprising because he had given me grief about my main being a hunter. We'll he has been lvling way slower than the rest of us and I could tell he just wasn't feeling it. Then I he tells me that he can't play his hunter anymore because he doesn't have a feed pet option..... I told him he must be mistaken and explained how to drag food to his pet and he say's he tried it and it doesn't work.
To each his own, but I thought that it was a pretty lame excuse.

With the boat from Org to TB now available, he could have rolled whatever race/class he wanted, and you guys could still level together.

my god!
sounds like the level 20-something hunter who was asking in trade chat "how do I get a pet?"
how on EARTH did he get to level 20 without ever doing the tame-pet quest line?

A bit of palindromic wisdom:
"Step on no pets!"

I love pets - combat or non.

Well im already to almost 16 and he apparently has a 20 somewhere, so I think he's just gonna meet up with us with that one.

I was mostly bummed because I love playing hunters, but opted out because I have never played a tank before and decided to try something new and then he rolls hunter and quits. They only have one hunter in their whole guild other than his. Im rethinking my decision, but im having a blast playing a warrior.

Some folks just don't hear the Hunter's call. It's not a class for everybody as evidenced by his slow leveling. As for playing a warrior, again it just doesn't touch everybody. I've played every class in the game and i have to say, for me trying to level a warrior was as exciting as watching paint dry. Amazingly, i didn't like my rogue either but loved my druid as feral cat spec. Go figure.

I've tried every class as well. I can't play a priest or a rogue for sure. And Dk's are sort of meh for me. I love my hunters. I really like my druid, warr, and pally. My mage is in serious trouble lol. Shes in a rut.

Ahhhhhhhh...exactly what i posted in the "worst level bracket" posts. Stick with it and you'll be happy you did. They seem to go into a slump twice during leveling, but it only lasts a couple levels.

My mage is in the 76-80 bracket. She's fire spec (I've tried them all, only spec I enjoy, though I might give arcane another shot), but when I do groups or even quest, I start to cast, go make lunch, clean the house, go to the grocery store, and by the time I get back she might be finished casting.

Actually you don't get the feed pet option until you completely finish your pet quest line. You can tame a pet before you can feed it, which I always thought was kind of odd. So it wasn't a lame excuse, he just hadn't finished his line. Which is kind of silly, the hunter class doesn't start until you get your pet.

Was just gonna say this. It's likely he started the pet-taming quest, but didn't head up to (in his case) Thunder Bluff to complete it. Which is sad actually because it takes all of five minutes, and then you're armed with the ability to feed your pet.

Ah, forgot those details regarding pet feeding. I guess I didn't skip any steps and had it from the get go.

I have played all classes and so far like them all although I've let one slide as he has watched his family members pass him by, lol. My priest is the lowest of my classes, holding at 17 for the moment.

My first toon was a warrior, followed by my hunter which I consider my main. I have 4 80's (hunter, 2 dk's and mage) and another 78 (rogue) toon. My warrior, sad to say has only made it to lvl 61 so far (I have only had Titan's Grip ability for a little bit now, and I may dual spec to have him tank also).

I am now working on leveling my first healer (Shaman, currently sitting at lvl 31). I would like to buy some more time (how about 72 hour days with work taking up 8 hours still) :D

I recently setup a dual spec on my hunter to pick up Survival, no way I'm cashing in on BM. It's funny how many times now I have tried to pull out my devilsaur or spirit beast while in Survival spec to do a random, oops!

I seem to be the jack-of-all-trades type of player, not that there is anything wrong with that :P

half the problem with a lot of people is they don't bother to read the quests, just accept them and off they go. 95% of the time the quest text gives you all the answers you need anyway. i really can't stand it when people ask stupid questions because they're too lazy to read the quests. they just load on quest helper and follow the arrow.

i never use quest helper, actually i dont' use mods at all outside of atlasloot or ratingsbuster. i wish they'd all just use their own damn brains for a change
