i was trying to explain to my mom why my spanish isn't done yet (we're leaving tomorrow for vacation, so it has to be done tonight) and that my professor hasn't put up the work yet/won't answer my emails. my dad, who was in the kitchen and not part of the conversation, just starts screaming at me that it doesn't matter and to get it done before i even finish my sentence. i told him to please not interrupt me (and did, in fact, use those exact words) and said i was trying to explain what was going on to mom. he said he didn't care, he was done with the conversation, and to go do it. every time i opened my mouth he would just scream and shout over me until i just left.

this is /exactly/ why, when something important happens in my family, we can't discuss it. he decides he doesn't want to talk about it, and that means no one can. his is the only voice and only opinion that matters.

To everyone who thinks " People who draw in their own style have more talent then people who draw in other peoples styles/ do fanart" Your all fucking idiots and I'm sick and tired of hearing your art snob bullshit.

Being able to draw in someone elses style is a very important skill in a lot of art based jobs and it is in fact a very hard skill to master.

Being an animator I find it insulting when I see someone say such shit as a animator NEEDS to be able to draw in other peoples styles, if they did not a show would change style every scene!

Same goes for concept art too. What if you get a job at a studio that has it's own style? Or you are asked to work on a game? You'd have to draw in that style. No point designing a character if they would not fit into the show/game its made for now is there?

Sorry I had to get that out. Sick of seeing that shit every time I go to a art site.

Once a long time ago someone put down my art this way. I liked drawing anime characters (usually w/e i was into at the time) I drew a picture of cardcaptor sakura i saw on a note book. The comment i got was "oh your not good at drawing, your just good at copying" this made me feel so bad. Like all the ppl who'd told me I had talent just didn't know id seen the image i drew elsewhere and it was all lies. I don't think i drew for a long time after that. I have never traced anything, i just drew what i saw.

I don't think people realise how much their words can hurt.

Seriously? Fuck off. Not only does that sound extremely sexist to me, it's just downright insulting. Your weight rarely has anything to do with your fucking personality. Skinny chicks get bullied just like heavy chicks do. Skinny chicks also get similar discrimination the heavier chicks do.

Omfg so much this. Back on WoW, I heard this happening a lot. Like... a lot. People would say that 'only fat chicks have nasty attitudes' and because I get angered very easily, especially on WoW for reasons I'm pretty sure everyone here can understand, everyone used to say 'I was probably just a jealous fat chick irl'. Wtf? How does that even make sense? I've had many overweight lady friends and all of them were as sweet as can be!

The worst discrimination I've ever received though was from my grandmother who just casually ASSUMED I had an eating disorder because I'm skinny and I've never gained much weight in my entire life. WAT. You... you can't assume things like that... just... WHAT.

It drives me INSANE. YES he eats. NO he doesn't have an eating disorder. YES he skinny. SO WHAT. It makes him feel so bad like he has to bulk up and gain weight because people ask about it ALL THE TIME. The first time they meet him THAT'S what they just go to. It's like that's a proper topic "Eh, why're you so skinny?". I've seen my boyfriend eat, he eats like a horse.(a joke between us I swear no offense meant it is my boyfriend ). He just has VERY high metabolism that burns it right off. I feel bad for all people who go through this. SHAMING OF ANY KIND ISNT RIGHT BE IT "FAT" OR "SKINNY" SHAMING.

Want to know another thing those dumbasses don't understand? Drawing in someones elses style is a good way of improveing your own drawing skills!

Trust me go on DA or something and find someone who is all "anti drawing in others style/fanart" and you will see those people hardly improve on their art. Hell I know a few and they all go on about how they want to improve!

A good rule of thumb is if you want to improve get out of your comfort zone! Try something new! Your comfort zone can make you go stagnate.

because i can't do diets bc i have to eat and snack (and have salty stuff) a lot and most diets want me to not eat much but then i can't work out almost at all or i can't breathe
