They're about as good as any other tank pet. Equalization and all that. Personally I like mine for DPS/Brez, and use a turtle (or beetle)/Spirit beast for tanking (shield's for turtle/beetle. self heals on the SB tank).

The only difference between ANY pet now is family ability(s) and looks, stats are equalized for all pets and only change based on spec and hunter gear.
