Derax, I do believe you have totally missed the point in order to defend your original post. The second video is a how do you like the shoe being on the other foot...see how dumb it is. It is not meant to be taken as a real situation, and I do not know of any female gamers who would watch and take this as a norm for most guys. I have never once had any of my female gamer friends make any of the comments or stereotypes about men that I see thrown around about women. That being said normally the comments don't bother me too much. It is my belief that real men, respectful men, do Not behave like this, and I would like to believe that those type of men are in the majority.

It started out as me wanting to clarify my original post but turned into more of my thoughts on the subject. It tends to happen, I spend forever typing something only to hit the delete key after and start again. But do I have to defend my post, I wasn't implying anything negative.

My original post: It seems that women can stereotype guys and have it be more acceptable then when a guy does it. Even though both are equally wrong.

My reply post: By making a video to combat stereotyping girl gamers have to put up with by in turn playing the stereotypical guy gamer is detrimental to the cause. Its like to show the bullies how it feels we are in turn going to bully them.

Girl gamers have to deal with a lot of crap, As everyone has stated but when guys make those comments you are not the only ones who have to deal with the effects of it. Guys have to end up dealing with the stigma it leaves on all guy gamers. And of course this is all comments toward the wow video not the comic con one.

lol and I do get a laugh out of think ash is all like wtf I didn't think linking one video who start this... :p

*Edit* And yea maybe I am missing what the wow video is trying to point out or maybe I just have a different view could be either idk, Either way discussion is good.

You are correct that other guys, good guys, have to deal with the stigma that the mouthy ones cause. If it makes you feel better I like to assume everyone is a good guy until proven other wise. :D

This video is great! I really feel sorry for all the girls who play WoW (let alone any other multiplayer videogames where their genders would be "discovered") and are treated rudely, harassed, white-knighted, obsessed over, etc..
I think it's just a result of:

1. Many of the guys playing WoW don't have experience with the opposite sex
2. Many of the guys playing WoW don't have a girlfriend in real life and go berserk at the opportunity to pick one up in their favorite game
3. There's always that one manipulative girl who uses her charms to her advantage. Maybe there's one per raidgroup, one per guild, or even one per realm. But those girls are the ones who give all other girl-gamers a bad name (just like the "get back in the kitchen" guys are the ones who give male players a bad name.)

I personally know way more women who play WoW than men, so when some little teenage douchebag starts on his whole "women don't game" bullshit I laugh at him. In public.

Aw man, when this first came out, oodles of the women in my raid group(s) mass spammed this on their respective forums, ventrilo chat boxes, and in-game. It was beautiful.

When I was in high school, being a geek/nerd wasn't "in" like it is now. At least the younger generation has that in its favor :) That said... I know high school sucks. But just remember - high school ENDS. At least, for those who have real lives waiting ahead of them - we all know there is a certain distinct population of people for whom high school remains the best days of their lives. That population consists almost entirely of the snobby girls and douchey guys who are making your lives hell right now. Hopefully that brings some comfort to someone :)
