'The Dark Below'
Why can I not stop thinking of some sort of reference to Mariana's Trench (the underwater trench in the pacific ocean)?
My brain first went 'N'zoth?', then to Azshara, which led to probably the scariest, most horrific in WoW zones of an underwater trench where the only light is made by the freakish creatures that live at such unimaginable depths and magic (biological and otherwise) produced by the naga as they live in whole cities, naga and night elf make at the bottom of the ocean and along trench and cliff walls. Pitch black terror with equally terrifying creatures and naga floating in an underwater abyss......
I'm going to probably have nightmares tonight now
Edit: Ok, so I clicked the link (I on't normally for these things cause it usually just shows that its been trademarked) and it seems like several of the comments had the same idea. Or at least, Azshara type theme

Re: Blizzard trademarks 'The Dark Below'
With that gamercon thing they recently did, I'm leaning more towards a D3 expansion as it's long overdue for one.
Buuuuuuut with that being said, I won't rule out an Azshara expansion. I highly doubt Naga will be playable since they hate everyone as per their lore and armor would be odd on them.

Re: Blizzard trademarks 'The Dark Below'
Armor works better than expected on their models (I've played around with them in WMV), leg/pants just turn into a sort of tail sleeve, and we already have races that don't display footwear so that wouldn't really be an issue.
The biggest one I could think of would be riding mounts, though I guess they could sit on them bridal style or something?
I'm not holding my breath for playable naga, but I sure would kill for them anyways.

I don't know.. Blizz has been known to 'evolve' the lore to make almost everything playable eg; Blood Elf as horde, retconning Draenei, heck when vanilla beta started, I was surprised you could play as Sylvanas' forsaken... Concerning the armor though, I would like to think that the aesthetic choices that Blizzard would make would not deter any game mechanic so I expect things like tail bracers replacing boots for in terms of look, though Naga would retain their boot slots.

I imagine one of these would happenVephriel wrote:Armor works better than expected on their models (I've played around with them in WMV), leg/pants just turn into a sort of tail sleeve, and we already have races that don't display footwear so that wouldn't really be an issue.

i) Side saddle
ii) Tail coiling the body
iii) special chariot that normal mounts would pull

Yeah the mounts I could see as an issue and the naga would need mounts more than any other race cause slithering everywhere would be a pain....XD
Chariots? Not likely. Worgen wanted those. We just got ponies.

on Twitter...Ghostcrawler has said that he wasn't a fan of how the neutral race thing worked. Not sure how this effects anything or if it dones effect anything...but figured I'd bring it up.

I don't know.. Chris Metzen once said he wanted for naga to be playable.cowmuflage wrote:I really don't think they will make Naga playable.

Having said, this is entire pure speculation if 'The Dark Below' is indeed a wow expansion about Azshara as Diablo's Stone fell into the abyss as well...

I do hope that is just GC's view instead of Blizzard's POV. IMHO, when I read that, it more about how the starting zone played out for Pandaren.. I don't know..Magnakilro wrote:on Twitter...Ghostcrawler has said that he wasn't a fan of how the neutral race thing worked. Still Adria to deal with and Diablo isn't dead....least not for good I don't think. Prime Evils can't be killed. It's the 'Eternal Conflict' for a reason.pop wrote:I don't know.. Re: Blizzard trademarks 'The Dark Below'
Like I said, I don't actually expect to get them, this is all just fun speculation.
Here's screenshots of Naga in armor. I chose my favourite set.
The pants and boots just wrap around the tail so it's feasible in my opinion. Helms don't work, but that wouldn't be too difficult I imagine, considering Blizzard can make them work on Tauren and Worgen.

Re: Blizzard trademarks 'The Dark Below'
My only worry, if naga were to ever be introduced..... well, we already know the raid was cancelled because players (or at least I think it was because of players) didn't want anymore sea themed zones. A lot of people are scared of underwater and open water and can mentally not enter Vashj'ir because of it :/
The idea of being a naga is awesome to me and I'm not afraid of being in Vashj'ir (though I can't go near the whale sharks or to cliff edges without being on the verge of a mini panic attack-- has gotten better though since Cata's release but still not great) but to give them and their zone full potential they'd need at least some of their start zone to be underwater moreso than beach side as naga don't exactly build entire cities or utopia's above the waves
I've never played the Diablo games aside from like 15min of D3 so I have absolutely no idea the storyline but I think Blizz is probably going to stretch out a few more patches in MoP before revealing the next expansion so it could definitely work as a name for the next Diablo game

I wan't a real pet class for diablo.. I like the witch doctor but I love my d2's necromancer better.. or at least in the next expansion there would be an option that we would be able to have and control more minions.Junrei wrote:Still Adria to deal with and Diablo isn't dead....least not for good I don't think. And we still have yet played any shape shifting class in d3.. I do hope a class like d2's druid makes a comeback.

Well what if the Kirin Tor or Rasta Khan's Zandalari that did not follow Zul raised the Naz' Jatar for preemptive attempt to stop the nagas? Or maybe Azshara is ready for Azeroth and decided to raise her sunken city to the surface?
