On the subject of suicide. People who use it to get attention. Like on Tumblr or something. Pretty hard to prove that they are not after all. :/ Very easy to lie on the internet (and judge by some of my friends on Tumblr very easy to fall for too sadly)

I kind of do think suicide is the ultimate form of cowardice. Yeah I know I'll get flak for it but I do kind of think that way I mean death is the ultimate way of running away from your problems :S

I have knowen people who have done it. Always over teenage things (things well all go thru at one point or another) Get help if you feel that way cus the shit you will make your friends and family go thru after the deed is done is not worth it! No parent should have to see their kid die before them!

There was a guy on MG a while back that told everyone he was going to kill himself. His guild and half the server got all worked out about it. Then he logged on acting like a family member or something, saying that he did kill himself.
After a long while of being offline, he came back on and was like "Hey guys, I didn't really do it "
Everyone was soooooooooooooo mad. Everyone who thought he did die had been mourning his loss and everything. It was terrible. Ugh.

But yeah. Seek help, I agree, if you or someone you know is thinking about doing it. *nod nod*

I agree, cow. It is the ultimate sign of cowardice. Taking the easy way out instead of actually facing your problems. And I've become very cold when people use it to get attention. It's happened one too many times that people fake it. I've lost two actual friends to suicide and one to murder. I don't need attention whores daring to use it just to become the center of attention. It pisses me off ROYALLY.

Bowno, I think I remember hearing about that. It was infuriating. I wanted to punch the dude in the face for that. What he did was wrong on SO many levels.

I'm not really angry at you or Cow per se, Junrei, but this sentiment absolutely disgusts me. If someone EVER says suicide is a form of cowardice to me, it will not end well. Hell, my mom once tried to argue this with me and I was pissed at her for days.

Do not ever call it cowardice. Ever. That is fucking disgusting. Hell, let's get real fucking personal right now. I have depression. I have been diagnosed with depression. I have hurt myself physically. I have gotten to the point where I have hated myself SO MUCH and was SO GODDAMN MISERABLE I wanted to die. Tell me again that's cowardice. Tell me how weak I am. Please do. Let me point out I was on medication. Let me point out I was in therapy. Let me point out that still isn't enough, I still will probably need a higher dosage or get back to therapy since we moved. And with all that, tell me how much of a coward I am because I wanted to die.

Yes, let's worry about what the survivors may feel. Let's feel grief for them. Let's not pay attention to the fact someone was so miserable they wanted to die. So miserable they ended their goddamn life. Yes, they are definitely a coward. Oh yeah. Totally. Totally blame the person who is dead and ended their lives. Not everyone can fucking get help. The first time I had an issue, before I got help or meds, the first time I ever hurt myself, I spent a good hour sitting there, clawing myself and trying to inflict as much pain as I could because I felt terrible and numb and hollow. It took my siblings to get help. I couldn't bring myself to get help. Tell me again how weak I am. Tell me again how much of a coward I am.

How dare you call suicide a form of cowardice? Don't anyone fucking DARE dismiss it over "teenage things" we all went through. Don't you DARE say it is taking the easy way out. Help is not always an option. I know many people who struggled to try and get help. I struggled to try and get help.

This is fucking disgusting. I have never been more furious about something in my life. And I apologize if people feel targeted. And I'm sorry for trying to bash opinions. But this is a topic very close to me and it is INSANELY infuriating to see people talk so casually about it and how it's an act of weakness and cowardice.

It's okay Azu. Not every suicide case is the same. Yours isn't the one we were talking about. You have a medical issue that causes suicidal thoughts that isn't always in your control.

The ones we speak of are the ones that do it for attention(or claim they're gonna but don't actually do it) or for 'teen reasons' like their boyfriend broke up with them(not even cheated. Just a normal break up) or something along those lines. I believe those were the types we were referring to. You don't fall into either category, far as I can tell from the information you gave. I was friends with many suicidal and cutter type people. I've had to talk people out of such more times than I'd like.

But that's assuming people who are committing suicide are in a totally normal state of mind? And no. That's not at all the case. Depression isn't something that you can just wave off. If you're depressed that seriously, it completely takes over your mind. Suicide isn't a way to go "ahaha I'll just escape!", it's what happens when someone is so ridiculously miserable and often thinks they're so worthless that they honestly think they're doing the world a favor by getting rid of themselves.

That's not cowardly. That's a disease that controls your mind to the point where people make horrible decisions like that.

Please, don't act like people commit suicide in a state of mind that's considered normal. Because that's a horrible misunderstanding of what people who are in a suicidal state of mind are going through.

(and I really really don't believe that people who are just going through "teen things" and actually kill themselves are just doing it for attention. Because they're dead. They knew they were going to die. You don't commit suicide like it's a game.)

See, but even that I'm not sure I really approve of. It is never okay to dismiss suicide. It is never okay to dismiss someone as a coward for it. Whether they go through or not, whether they're 'doing it for attention' or 'because of teen issues', it is still never okay to dismiss someone like that. Yes, it could be obnoxious. No, I don't approve of either methods. Believe me, if someone said they were going to commit suicide and it was some hoax, I would be as pissed as the next person. But it is still not cowardice or weakness. No matter the reason or the rationale, whether it is real or not, there is almost always SOME underlying problem that SOMEONE needs help with. Dismissing them like that will get them absolutely nowhere, and what could start out as a "minor teen problem" could eventually become something more dramatic.

tl;dr if the word suicide ever comes up, never ever dismiss it. Ever. It doesn't matter if it's fake. Doesn't matter if it's 'over some teen issue.' If someone says something along those lines, always take precaution and if it is fake, then there is generally a reason why and treating it like it is nothing or an act of cowardice is just as bad.

I try to take it seriously at first, even if on the inside it makes me really angry they'd consider suicide and not consider the consequences of their actions, especially over minor issues that don't need such a thought. I do my best to talk them out of it. However, if it's a hoax, they're not gonna like me.....at all. I guess I wouldn't say I 'dismiss it' so much as become 'skeptical', especially if the person threatened it multiple times just to get attention. Just depends on the situation and the reputation of the person, I suppose.

I've been on the receiving end of 'suicide threats'. Example: I was camping Arcturis and this one dude(he was kinda creepy, mind you) kept camping ontop of me. I had idle conversations with him but he kept begging me endlessly to let him have Arcturis or else he'd kill himself. It's that sort of thing that doesn't fly well with me and makes me go "WTF Really?" It's people like that that give serious suicide cases a bad rep.

Like I can understand that one case with Arcturis, and for me I'd probably tell him something along the lines that if he'd really 'kill himself' over a pixel bear he should seriously consider professional help and then pop him on ignore. So yeah, I suppose I can understand that degree of nonsense. I guess the way I see it is immediate dismissal over things like "teen horomones" or whatever stupid excuse is not okay (and calling suicide cowardice in any situation, I don't care even if it's creepy camping dude, is just not okay. Ever. Do not. Do not do. Abort. Bad.) but on the other hand I can understand the skepticism and the desire to distance yourself from that and now want to deal with it.

Man now I'm just not making sense. I think now is the time I play Animal Crossing or Pokemon or something and just unwind for a bit.

Nah. You make perfect sense and it's interesting to actually hear the point of a view from a suicide survivor, whereas my point of view is the other side. It helps to assess the facts and come to understandings. :3

OCD has enough of a stigma as it is with out people using it as a joke or as a reason behind being tidy or wanting things to be even. Yeah you may have a urge to keep things tidy or something a "qurik" if you will but it's not anything like being in mental pain seeing a ballpoint pen unclicked or a keyboard and mouse pad not being in the same line or making sure both sides of my hair is even. >.> Those are some of the less embarrassing things I do.

I don't know why lately these things people say are getting me worked up but they are. That with people saying they have Asbergers when they have not been tested.

A friend got me Saints Row 4 as a gift (and cause they wanted someone to play with). It's fun gut holy cray i get motion sick from it so easy. We both agreed we need to take breaks more often.
Mom and gramma will be home in a few days. Really not happy with how my uncle suddenly started bringing some stranger woman over every night as soon as they were gone. I don't even know her name and I flat out hate her. Doesn't help that she agrees with his stance that once a PET snake gets too big, you should "Kill it. Skin it. And (if you really, really like snakes) get a new one."
She also doesn't know how to freaking knock before walking into the bathroom with the door closed >:|

WoW is now down to install the patch (RIP Vale of Eternal Blossoms, I regret forgetting that today was patch day, I never got to see you one last time before the Sha corrupts you ) and FR is under its maintenance and my RP partners are at work/school, being on the other side of the world. Not much better than them being asleep as its 12:12am atm for me but still, their day is my night so when I wake up in the morning its late evening for them. Nothing to doooo now.

I hate facebook, I hate going on it, I hate sorting through the piles of bullshit posts that people seem intent on making...IDGAF that you picked tomatoes from your garden today, or another person cooked a meal and took a picture, or that person that posts 20+ pictures of their kid at the playground in 20+ SLIGHTLY different poses...I DON"T LIKE FACEBOOK...People seem intent on posting the most trivial of things every 5-10min...

And I HATE when I ask someone a question they respond with "oh its on facebook, go read the info there." FFS...is telling me the day, time. place so fucking hard?? I spent 10min sorting through all the shit you post just to find the fucking one with the info I needed...something YOU could have fucking told me in less then 10sec...FUCK FACEBOOK!!!!!! FUCK lazy shits that can't bother talking to someone beyond a general post on some website...

I actually deleted my facebook a couple years ago, and it's been such a weight off my shoulders.

I hadn't realized how much stress was caused just by having an account until it was gone. Mostly it was thanks to relatives and such always wanting to pry into my life, and the pressure of keeping in touch with people, and the feeling of never being...away from everything. I don't know, this is largely due to the anxiety I get when it comes to overly social things like that, but I just couldn't deal with those types of sites. I'd always try to keep my friends list trimmed down, but there's always the inevitability of someone being angry or hurt if you remove them, and I didn't like how you'd get sucked into adding acquaintances so you wouldn't be rude and then you're stuck with them even though you'd prefer not being linked to everyone.

I dunno, it just makes me uncomfortable, I haven't missed it or looked back since I got rid of it.
