I agree with cow on Jaina, I really dislike the way Blizz is going with her. They turn her into one-dimensional Miss Vengeance, I'd even say blue Sylvanas if it wasn't dissing S, which is a wonderful char (even if I hate her). I really hope Kalec will make her get her mind back soon and she doesn't just turn into another villain.

On the other hand, the construction of Varian with a devil (Jaina) and an angel (Anduin) on his shoulders is kind of crafty. Bit the prolem in this case only is - if Varian is a good boy and listens to the angel, won't the devil get frustrated and start causing mischiev on its own accord? /shudders

I love that Horde ending, loved the Alliance one too but I'm a wee biased being mostly Horde-sided with my characters. Really loved Vol'jin in this expansion and it was awesome to see him made Warchief but as that was apparently the Alliance version to the cinematic that I had previously seen, it was a little bit of a *plop* 'alright, new warchief' and that was it. There was just too little there to really make the change of leadership exciting for me.

But then seeing the Horde version and knowing an actual two minute, on the spot meeting that actually had all the racial leaders agree in tandem to the decision happened while the Alliance were watching from afar, that made it awesome. Vol'jin has rarely acted on impulse and he's always been on the modest side, seeing others closest to him as better candidates but never shying away when asked of him. He understands Thrall's choice and honors it, honors what it means, the request, not command to become the new warchief. I could probably go on and on about him like seriously While some characters have fallen from grace, others are rising taller and prouder.

I'm REALLY wondering what Sylvanas is gonna get up to now..... All she did was pretty much do a long nod motion. Even Gallywix took his hat off and showed his respects but all she did was droop her head. Vol'jin won't take shit I'm sure so she's really gotta watch her back and not abuse his leniency, if he has any for her. And if the Alliance want to cleanse Hillsbrad and Gilneas, well, that's Forsaken territory. How's she going to react to that? How is Ivar and Crowly going to respond to returning to their home with the Forsaken literally free to wander just on the other side of the wall? She's just supposed to lie down and roll over (no ironic pun intended) while they do that and let unrest between Gilneans/Alliance and Forsaken boil over? I think we might see her getting up to some in-incognito plotting to keep that from happening...

Even Gallywix took his hat off and showed his respects but all she did was droop her head. Vol'jin won't take shit I'm sure so she's really gotta watch her back and not abuse his leniency, if he has any for her. And if the Alliance want to cleanse Hillsbrad and Gilneas, well, that's Forsaken territory. How's she going to react to that? How is Ivar and Crowly going to respond to returning to their home with the Forsaken literally free to wander just on the other side of the wall? She's just supposed to lie down and roll over (no ironic pun intended) while they do that and let unrest between Gilneans/Alliance and Forsaken boil over? I think we might see her getting up to some in-incognito plotting to keep that from happening...

From an Alliance perspective I hope she gets her ass handed to her. And what? Sorry that isn't her territory, she invaded it and if she's sent packing...well GOOD! I hope we see some Horde ass wooping in the next xpac even if its just the foresaken. They've done so much damage since the wrathgate and now Gilneas...she needs to be put back in her box. But then I never was a sylvannas fan girl...I actually dislike her the most out of all the horde leaders.

I think she's the best faction leader XD I've never found anything good about the Alliance leaders. Story wise or design wise. They just seem so generic to me.

that was my impression as well. I found it quite terrifying to hear her as she walked around Dalaran slaughtering people left right and center. she sounded like she took a swan dive off the deep end.

The appointment fragment - the one Allies don't see - gave me some goosebumps In a good meaning. Like crowning in the Lion King, in miniature.

I think she's stabilized since then. Actually it was Blood Elves that were some of the worst accomplices in all this. It was the blood elf faction of the Kirin Tor (or at least some of them) that was responsible for smuggling out the iris that was used to destroy Theramore. That was why she went so bat crazy in Dalaran as she felt she'd just been very deeply betrayed by half of her own people. Whether they were all complicit or just a few, I have no idea. She clearly decided it was all of them and it was time for them to leave Dalaran by gravity. Lor'themar stood up for his race, but from little scenes on the Isle of Thunder it's apparent he doesn't know what happened.

Yeah, Horde get a MUCH better ending. A lot more weight is added to that decision. Gives Vol'jin a lot more power; all of the Horde is shown to honor him. Love it!

Edit- though I play Ally mostly, I'm really, really glad Horde got that extra bit added to their ending. Poor hordies have had their entire faction ripped apart by this expansion and deserve a bit of extra on the end cinematic to make up for it.

I really wish they would delve more into the Blood Elves and their tenuous relationship to the Horde.

I've played WoW since vanilla, and as soon as B.Elves became available as a playable race, I changed almost all of my toons for that race. (of the 30 toons on my main server, 1 is Tauren, 2 are Orcs, 2 Pandarian, the rest - B.Elves)

I feel very strongly for that particular race. I don't know why. That quest where you burn incense in Pandaria (one of the early quests, in Jade Forest, I think with Lorewalker Cho) had me all teared up. But I think there's a LOT of "story" to explore surrounding that particular race and their relationship with their chosen faction. For years, I've always felt a bit... "left out" from the horde. Almost as if we're there, but the other races would rather we weren't. I want Blizzard to deal with that. Work out that relationship once and for all.

That's mostly cause of a few things.

1) Lor'themar has kept the elves out of unneeded bloodshed.
2) Garrosh saw the Blood Elves as weak and worthless(which is showed that when you made a Horde Pandaren).
3) Lor'themar has been pretty much drinking his life away because he didn't want to be leader, thus didn't do much of anything. This is information from the short story.

With how Lor'themar has finally gotten off his booty and taken the reins for once, I think the elves will become more involved, especially since Vol'jin and Lor are pretty good friends after all this.

as I said, I'm 100% Blood Elf, through and through... there are a number of quests that bring up our actions in the past, or our part in the grand scheme of things, but I'd love for that to be fleshed out more. I feel we're just not getting enough justification.
