dark-eye Raven...Bug?

Unread post by Firstborn Dragon »

So in the past I know we could find rare 'super enraged' pets. But this is a new one on me.

I was curious if I could pull off a tame on the Dark Eye Raven. What I got was well... Confusion.

Can you tell who's who in this picture? One is a newly tamed raven, the other is the Gillain raven pet.

I can't tell what is going on The picture is too small.
Is it a size issue or something?

Siggy under construction!

Yeah I'm afraid I can't see what's going on either. Can you please attach a big screenshot? You don't need to display it inline if you don't want to, but it'd be nice to see the issue.

Ah I see! He doesn't look too bad, but yes, maybe a bit small.

I have one of these as my AOE Tanking Pet, (the AOE debuff they have being in the carrion family is great) I specifically tamed one of the "Upland" ones for the smaller model and also have the Glyph to make it smaller again. He's now just a little larger than my Minipet now, maybe by a 3rd?

However if there is a smaller version again, I'll have to go check these out. As for taming the Dark-eye Ravens, I've read one just needs to throw a trap on them prior to taming to stop them flying off. :)

**Edit**

According to WOWhead, there is a screen shot of a hunter with one and it looks pretty small tbh. There is no way to know if that was truly a tamed dark-eye Raven or if they have the “sizing” Glyph, but it’s certainly enough to make me interested in taming one to see. :D

They;re basically teh same size. I don't have that glyph in the SS I took, and it's the Gilain raven, and the Black Eye Raven hunter pet.

Heck I've had people ask me how I have two non combat pets out at once.

I did testing and screen shots, but I'm to tired to post atm. The Dark eye is actually smaller, but by only a little. Due to that it actually fly's quite close to the ground which is not ideal imo, but it is the smallest bird model. That said you have found a somewhat unique raven pet.
This one is actually not in the Carrion family, but thinks they are birds of prey, making them the only raven model to do so.

I probably won't be logging in until Sunday but my orc huntress has this guy. I'll look and pull out the rave mini and see how close in size they are. I don't and have never used the glyph so it should tell me. :D

A small sized raven? neat. I love how tiny my sea gull is. I know many people a few years back wanted giant pets in the WoW Forums. But I like the little ones as they do not obscure my vision as much.

Thanks for this topic! My carrion bird and bird of prey now match. And I successfully resisted naming them Huginn and Muninn :)
