New Emerald Hippogryph Model Preview.

I really like the new gryphons so I think I'll love this new hippo!! The colours are lovely and i like how they used a different model like they did with the new gryphon/wyvern for the pvp area. Maybe this is a new pvp event award or storyline award like the previous two? Would fit the use of the different model for sure!

edit: Just saw a reference that this may be the 9th anniversary award for wow! that would be awesome!!!

That would be awesome. I hope it's true. The colors are pure Night Elf motif. I tried to make my signature represent the Night Elf colors as well. Think of the vegetation in Ashenvale for example.

Well, it's a mount, probably a free one, so I'm happy. The colors are nice, too.
Even though, I probably won't use it - it doesn't seem to fit any of my characters in particullar.

It would be amazing if it was free. Hmm, I must take a look at my grand armoured gryphon from behind; the one thing that bothered me about hippogryphs
was the 2D effect of the wings when they are on the ground.

It's the second Night Elvish themed mount that's surfaced, after the fae dragon, and I'm all for it! I'm looking forward to learning where they come from.

The back hooves and the wings are kinda off-putting, but the rest of it is fabulous. I do like those colors too.

And I doubt it's free...when's the last time we've had a free mount?

I saw the reward, just...reward for what? New achi reward, perhaps a mount one (finally might get a decent one again after the dragonhawks?)

Not RAF cause as you can see...it's not a double person mount(they steered away from single person mounts after the Zhevra).

As for free mount, lots of my achievement mounts cost me nothing and was a reward.

Yeah, I was trying to see if there might be a second saddle hidden behind the first, but I don't think so. I'd be very surprised if they made a single-person RAF mount again. Unless the owner turns into the hippogryph, but the novelty of that has probably worn off now.

I'm with this logic. 9yrs is a massive acheivement for a subscription game, I think a mount is a good reward! Might be a catch to it maybe? Account active x amount of years to get it? Hmm who knows.

There has been recent talk of a new RAF system, it was discussed in the developer round table.

New Recruit-A-Friend system

A new in-game interface instead of web-based.
Rewards a token instead of a set mount.
Token can be redeemed for a "myriad" of rewards including mounts and pets.
Retired RAF mounts may become available through this system such as the X-53 Touring Rocket or Zhevra, but details are still sketchy.

Maybe it could have something to do with that?

I was personally guilty of assuming it would not be a RAF mount as the last couple where 2 seaters.... but then forgot the original RAF mount (Zhevra Mount) was not. So really it could go anyway, especially if there is going to new a new system in play.

Agreed Wain. :3 We've already got the vial and the panther mount. I'm still convinced it's not a RAF mount cause they've not done a 1-seater since the Zhevra. To me, that says they're steering from 1-seaters for RaF.

Might be but highly doubtful as if you said it was recently discussed, that means it's not even close to being in the game yet. They would've put out a preview for something like that unless it was ready to go or really close.

I still think it will somehow be a reward that is not as complicated to obtain as a RAF Mount (well that’s my hope). I just have a feeling that due to this being one of the "Updated" models of a previously existing mount, that the previously existing mounts are already available to both factions, it will be a fairly easy reward to obtain for any character.

I'm also wondering if they did any other colour variations that will end up in the files once they decide to add it in. There weren't any other variants to the Updated Gryphons and Wyverns, but there was for the Bloodseeker Bat. I guess time will tell.

Oh I hadn't seen that! I kinda like the idea that old RAF mounts might be available again. I already have them but I'd like to think others who missed out might now have a chance.

Plus it might also set a precedent for older mounts returning...

I'm in two minds about that...I defiantly think the naxx metas should be returned cause to be frank there was no reason to remove them since no other dungeon/raid mounts were ever retired since...but I kinda like some of the others being retired. its a "i was there and did that then" badge, kinda like some of the old titles and FoS.

As much as I like the old ZG tiger that I never got I like how its uber rare now, almost a treat to see it! And I like my Zhevra in a similuar way Not that i deny others special things but I think I'd be abit dissapointed if they did that.

Still hoping the hippo isn't a RAF mount tho, I can't afford another account
