Well as is stands right now; My disconnection issues have gotten worse.
(And I thought they were bad before)

I can't log into Zinagaro at all now without an instant disconnect and the same goes for my alt Vitata.
Even with no sound, lowest graphical setting, no addons, on this new lappy I am still suffering this disconnection issue.
I have contacted tech support, asked gms and scoured the forums for any help only to have them all tell me to do the same thing; that doesn't work.
One "solution" was to turn off game sound and lower graphic settings, that helped for about two weeks but the problem has since gotten worse.

I use a wireless laptop, but I have the router literally 3 feet away. I have also tried wired. Either way it does the same thing.

It used to be that I couldn't open my professions or have any kind of game sound. If I did I would receive an instant disconnect.
I suffered through that because I love this game.

Unfortunately I will be unable to play until I get this issue solved.

Is this a brand new laptop?? Sounds like your wireless card may have some issues if not failing completely. Are you able to warranty the laptop?

Have you checked if there is some firewall blocking it? The firewalls in routers are infamous for blocking the games we geeks love.

If it's on a laptop then try playing wow on a different Connection. It could be your connection with your ISP. I know when I have a bad server connection I lagg pretty hardcore. I get these huge 25dps - 1.5 fps frame spikes in Daralan. I can go to a daily Herioc or logg out and logg back in and I'm fine.

This might sound bizzare, but for me and my laptop, sometimes my battery saver does it to me. It'll switch plans from high performence to battery saver, and it completely screws up all of my games.

Yes this is brand new; got it this January.
As far as firewalls go, it let's me play just fine on Wickebine. (level1 rogue I made so I could talk to a GM)
So I can't really see as to why my firewall would block me when I open up my profession tab rather cause me to disconnect.

And as for playing with a different connection; Don't know quite yet; unable to get into anyone else s interwebs.

And I don't have my battery in my laptop when I play WoW because I fear it might die and cause me major problems later on. etc etc.

It doesn't affect my entire internet connection though, I can do other stuff on the internet before, after and during the disconnection. It only affects WoW.

Try checking your router settings to see what band it's broadcasting it's signal on, I know there is an issue with 2wire routers broadcasting between b/g band and WoW only working well with one of them, was an issue I had with my wireless. Try setting it to one or the other to see what you get.

do you have a friend's laptop you can test on your network?

Also, have you tried cleaning your system? There might be a bunch of files or other things that are clogging your system processes. Is the fan running a lot? I've even seen dust on the fan cause overheating which triggers things to slow down.

Not very comp savy but all the issues I've been having were vid card related...sounds like that may be your problem. Just a thought.

Well I managed to semi-fix the problem ( Without tech support since they wont answer their phones -.-)
I took a shot in the dark and downloaded someone elses WDB folder and lo and behold it saved me from the instant disconnections in WG and Ratchet, and everywhere else my toons were.

So I'm Back!

But, I still cant use my professions lol. Ah well.
