Why would they change the posture, though? It suits them. They're hunched over because they're almost nothing but skin and bones and they're DEAD. xD I doubt I'd be able to stand up straight if I looked like that haha. That's why the undead males do a little stretch every now and then. I love the animations and pose of the undead females how they are, I won't whine if they change it up a little, but no big changes plz. D:Bangeall wrote:If they straighten up the Undead a little I will be so, so happy. Their posture is a pet peeve of mine, even though I love them. Oddly enough I actually like most of the faces for them, and they're one of the only race I can say that for.

Re: New Character Models confirmed as well as new Expansion!
If they do end up looking like this, if the softer feminine faces we currently have end up turning anything like that then I might end up retiring some of my trolls :X That's the exact picture I was talking about that I really didn't like, but I didn't realize it was blizzard made which makes me even more uncomfortable for what's in store for them. But it's only one face, and one shade of skin so I'm not gonna jump on the AWOL bandwagon.Smyelmdar wrote:I have to say that I hope not. I think that female trolls are already too 'cute' to be trolls. I know this discussion has been going on for ages, and I guess we will never agree on this.Shalyth wrote:I'm most anxious for the troll females. I have no worries now for the female Undead after seeing the males but we've already seen new upgrades to troll males in the form of Vol'jin and while he makes a great example of reskinned male trolls, I'm nervous if the same bestiality is given to the females. Orcs are pretty savage, both male and female (so far only female we've seen was in the trailer but she's pretty scary) and trolls are little different. I want the softer, more feminine faces of the female trolls to be exactly that. Same for their bodies, I don't want them to come out like most, if not all fan-made reskins.
Granted I haven't probably seen most of said fan-made reskins and I probably am remembering fewer than I have actually seen, but I definitely was not a fan of em I know that. I keep grimacing when I try to remember what they looked like so they probably ended up not sitting well with me. Female trolls, female draenei, female night elves, female undead, and female blood elves are my absolute and most played races and genders (I rarely play male in general despite being a fan of male trolls, tauren, and pandaren haha).
I'm not worried at all for night elves and undead and still not sure what's going on with draenei and blood elves but supposedly they'll get done probably around the time, or later after whatever expansion comes after Warlords of Draenor? They did really well on them imo when they were new, they were a step up from the original 8 races graphically (I remember flip flopping over them and going nuts over the fact blood elves had a couple faces with make up and the hair looked so much better and smoother. xD) and these new models are absolutely stunning so I have no worries about what they'll look like after, mostly just if they'll get done. They probably will but they'll be the very, very last so I don't expect to see them updated for a very, very long time. But yeah, worried for troll females :X They'll more than likely come out really well after seeing Blizz is doing their absolute best to keep features intact, but I can't help but get anxious.
I loved the old alpha female trolls, and I think it would be awesome if there were two different female troll models; one like the old alpha and one like the current one.
And don't get me wrong, I like them as they are now. One of my most played characters is a female troll.
But I think you might have to brace yourself, cause I have a feeling they will be going with something along the lines of this one for the female trolls:

I like the Human females too, but I do hope that female Night Elves and trolls aren't 'humanised'. I like the races to have their own physique, rather than just being taller humans with blue and purple skin.

Definitely agreed here.Wain wrote:Personally I think a lot of the problems with (and hence avoidance of) the "uglier" face options for some races comes down to the lower textures. I've noticed the creepier options are often more exaggerated by stronger light contrast, which makes them a bit more disturbing and demonic, rather than organic. I don't think this will be such an issue with the new models. I'm sure plenty of people will still gravitate towards the prettier looks, and that's fine if they do, but hopefully the less "pretty" ones will start to look cooler but also something you can better identify with and less "alien".

You're not the only one. I only have one character with the cute face, and that one was made by my brother.pawprintedheart wrote:Am I the only person who finds the one 'cute' face for trolls ugly? I hate that look on them. I love the more vicious/savage edge to the faces, so the possibility that this could be the model just makes me squee. Even my more 'feminine' troll doesn't use that look, just a less 'savage' hair style. So I don't mind the idea of the trolls moving towards the look of High Priestess Mar'li. Though, seeing how popular that wide-eyed stoner face seems to be I wouldn't be surprised if they tried to make the player model softer. -sigh- That would be a huge bummer to me.

And if I could chose, I'd much more like it if the female trolls looked like they did in the alpha.
But I'm actually like that with other races too. I have human and dwarf females with the 'old' look. And most my male humans use the old look, or have the balding haircut. Some of my undead males has the missing jaw. It goes on. To me it feels weird playing cute/pretty looking characters that has to kill monsters. I don't know. I'm probably just weird myself. lol

Re: New Character Models confirmed as well as new Expansion!
Not liking the giant spine or giant shoulder bones on the new model, I hope those get worked better though I doubt it. Especially the shoulders.
Lordy those shoulders.
The Tauren look a little too cartoony but I'd want to see the other faces before passing judgement.
It is nice to see the Gnomes are not sucking. They don't look as ridiculous now, a very good thing.
Loving the Orc, wish they'd lessened the stupid hunch though. Look forward to seeing my main converted over.
I just really hope they don't go on the same path as the Pandaren and give them all one face with lots of different markings-options. That would be a fricken disaster. Hopefully they won't, the Goblins function fine after all, so there's no reason for them to take that path.

Re: New Character Models confirmed as well as new Expansion!
I'm a troll person too and the original troll I had that I shared petopian name with once had one of the cunning, hawklike featured faces, but when I remade her (she was race changed to worgen) I went with a softer look because in the end it just wasn't her :3 I wanted the soft look (as you called it, which gave me a lol, the wide-eye'd stoner face) for her because she's not like most trolls. She broke away from troll culture because there was so much of it that didn't sit well with her. She's a kind soul who wants to be unaffiliated to anything. She just wants to be herself, alone, with only her bear and help those she finds still alive that are found strewn and abandoned or lost throughout Dragonblight, her home and bring them back to their respective faction bases.pawprintedheart wrote:Am I the only person who finds the one 'cute' face for trolls ugly? My druid on the other hand has said cunning, hawklike face because she's exactly that. A cunning, devious woman who prides herself in her peoples culture and lore and beliefs. Even though the Gurubashi (which is what tribe I pretend she's from) were enemies to troll-kind, she still openly worships Hir'eek but is no longer associated with the Gurubashi tribe. She left the Gurubashi and joined the Horde through the Darkspear because she was against Hakkar and his ways. She didn't want to be corrupt but she prides herself on being a troll none the less, even if others see her as being corrupt for her beliefs. She knows she's not evil, and that's all she cares about and won't let anyone push her around (wheras my 'ice' troll who has the soft face is shamed by her peoples barbaric ways).
Facial and body features are extremely important to me and really -make- the character. If they don't feel right, it's near impossible for me to build up the motivation to play them. The picture posted of the model Blizz has already made seems to be using the face that my druid has, the cunning hawklike one. She has the same hair too as my druid, in color and the hairstyle (skin color is too blue for my druid though so its not like... a replica) and as that troll stands now, I really can't see her being my druid. It doesn't look right. Once they go live though, if this is what troll females will look like, the change of skin color and her mog armor can definitely completely change that and really nail it.
They've done amazing things for the other races thusfar that they've released, and this troll is way, way too heavily detailed in comparison to the models we've seen thusfar. She definitely looks the part of an NPC and not a player, but it's so hard to judge something without animation and lighting. This is a still frame in a non-existent environment so it's soooooo hard to actually feel it in the first place. For all we know this really could be what female trolls look like. Also, the models revealed, there's pics of them in just their undies while she only has pics with armor so it could be making her even darker than she really is. Plus the other races have much lighter skin color. As Wain said, lighting can do a lot to something's appearance.
One thing I'm reeeeally hoping to see for these new models is...
FACE PAAAAAINT
I want face paint options for orcs and female trolls, and more options for tauren ;A; It would be so awesome omg. But I'd like to see face paint on its own tab. I don't like that they're connected to faces cause theres faces I reeeeally do not like that have face paint colors/patterns that I do like. That's like, the whole reason I do not have a male troll xD
And tattoo options. Have them as their own tab as well. Even if they're all just one color, it would be so epic to have a tattoo option.

Re: New Character Models confirmed as well as new Expansion!
And I agree, I love having different faces. I think they did the goblins very well, so I'm holding out hope that these new models won't just be one face with different 'markings'. -crosses fingers- Because yes, different faces make different characters. While *I* may not like the wide-eyed one and find it ugly, others obviously do. *And* Khai my main who is a bit on the softer edge of the 'savage' looking faces (she's more of a troll 'house wife' turned hunter), is differently made then some of my others who are more feral in nature, so go for an even more savage look. (Probably similar to your druid). So I would really like them to maintain having different faces. Because that is something I LOVE about the goblin faces. But if they do just one and make it soft, that would be a bummer. Especially since I don't feel most trolls are soft/cuddly. xD
And YESSS tattoos on blood elves would be awesome.

I also fall into the category of loathing their unnaturally rigid and erect posture... the males are lanky and feral and the girls look like they were sent to Lady Chatterly's School for Finishing Women and then given spinal fusion surgery.
I love the troll lady done for the recent Zandalari stuff and am entirely happy if that's the new look, though I'd like her posture to be looser and more like the males. That won't happen though because all the girls in WoW have to be fap-fodder.

someday I'll find someplace to host a sig that isn't stupid money-grubbing photobucket

I'm kinda sad that goblin males don't have any grinning faces D: The old models did, but these guys are all grumpy and bummed like they were hosting a scam and it just backfired on them xDpawprintedheart wrote:Oh, face paint would be awesome!!!

If we were to get tattoo's... how would blizz make em? I have absolutely no idea how they'd design tattoo's for races that don't seem like it's a thing they'd partake in, or for ones where the meaning is a little less marking what clan/tribe your from and moreso a pledge, reminder, memorial, etc. with more personalized meaning. If one race gets tattoo's, I'm sure people will be pushing blizz to give em to everyone and trying to design ones that would make the majority who want them happy which could be problematic.
And is Blizzcon still going on? Did they like, reveal all that they have/willing to show of new character models? I'm still kinda sitting here wondering what's going on xD

Edit: And Night Elf face tattoos, and I often visualise those Grimtotem Tauren as having facial tattoos, as it doesn't look like paint to me (although it probably is).
