Updating Pet Models and Pet Mechanics

Rumors are abound that while our character models are being updated, that there are also a few updates to pet models being handed out. Not that they replace the old ones, but I would like to applaud this if it's true. Beasts should be updated at some point as well. I want some glorious looking creatures to hack and slash with my glorious new character.

I also want some badass revamped hunter pets of old.

I'd like to see what warpstalkers looked like, uncorrupted. New sporebats, manarays, and chimeras? Yes please! Bring those polygons in by the truckload! Relating to the topic beforehand, it would only be appropriate if my pet looked as high-quality as I did. It's not something one would expect to be done right away but the new devilsaur models look quite spiffy and if that trend could be followed a lot of people would likely approve of that.

Also, there was an argument once upon a time that a pet needed to be maintained in order to deal better damage. More responsibility attached to our killing machines. It also gave more flavor, back when we had to feed our pets to keep them loyal and happy. I don't know about other hunters but it was a blast NOT having something akin to a warlock pet following you around. Feeding my companion added to the depth of my class for me. Perhaps that could be added back in a manner of speaking? More choice over pet talents would be appreciated as well. I'm still a sucker for warp-stalkers getting their signature ability back, even if it means that they can't use blink-strike. I for one was NOT for having all of our pets be carbon copies of one another with different buffs. You might as well give us slimes of different colors for different buffs if one really wants pets to all be the same as they can possibly be to insure hunters mix and match a bit, because that's what it feels like.

Our main use to the raid and/or PvP matches was utility and damage. I think dumbing down pets was a bad idea, but that's just my opinion. People will still min/max to the best of their ability and there will always be "the best pet" to have (for the most part) depending on the content.
