Strangest/Oddest/Stupidest things you have heard in Dungeons

I decided to try out Ovak's boomkin spec. So after a long wait, I finally get a dungeon. Another boomkin as healer. "Fine", I thought. "He probably has dualspec".

I ended up healing, as he just zerged ahead in boomkinform and pulled everything.

SPEAKING OF THIS.

You know the perfume bosses? Well we had discovered an easy fool proof strategy, as well with all the fools on hellscream it was better to do it the easy and simple way. IE everyone deals with Perfume Boss XX and Crackman, I OT Perfume Boss X and Crackman when he zergs to me.

So we get a group who one dude flat out ignores us and tries to tank all, he screeches about heals and all that when he dies as Aria can heal it fine with her boomkin specc. But anyways, this fool who was better geared than us, leaves all nilly willy- when I managed on Caim to TANK EVERYTHING ONCE HE LEFT. It was ohgod but yeah.

Before this tho, before this well geared tank had a QQ fit worthy of a screechy little child, he basically told me, on Caim, to go get carried in raids and dungeons. No don't learn to tank, go get carried, because I was still gloating about my Lucky Old Sun dropping on Caim's first run. And he was like; You're to undergeared/not prepared for FoS [norm and hc and the following dungeons], go do some raids. Say can't. He tells me to get my guild to carry me or go get some paid runs, basically.

It's the first and last time anyone has told me I was undergeared for anything and that I should be carried by a raid.

Reminds me of a pally who turned up in HoR with us recently. He queued as dps in prot spec and a good deal of healing gear. He apologized and said he needed to get carried for the gear. We refused to budge from the doorway and kicked him the moment we were able.

It's one thing to roll on offspec gear if no one else needs it, but another thing entirely to turn up WITHOUT CONTRIBUTING and want to roll as main spec. People seem to think that they are entitled to this gear because they want it. That is ABSOLUTELY not how it works and it bothers me that some players condone this sort of thinking by not kicking these people.

Was in a Heroic Halls of Reflection. I joined in apparently right after they wiped on the LK gauntlet phase. I inspect the warlock. She has this equipped as her weapon.

I ask her about it.

And she assures me she has a level 70, item level 132 dagger in the bank.

How the hell this was relevant to her using a tank sword, I have no idea.

That's not only stupid, that's, dare I say it? Retarded. Seriously. As a Tank or Healer you can get into groups faster than fail DPS, you can have better odds for more chances for gear drops. Mean hell half of Caim's upgrades come from his tanking runs. Like PoS, he didn't get any tank kit, but the dps kit dropped and no one needed it! mien suckas!

Not to mention her DPS was barely 1k...

And the other DK doing DPS, was in ALL tank gear/gems/chants, saying they had no DPS gear (THEN WHY ARE YOU DPSING?!)...

DK also did barely 1k DPS...

Really geared hunter had to carry all the DPS, pulling from the tank several times...

Even just my healing pulled off the tank several times...

UGH. Just not a good group. The hunter was whispering me though "i got this" so I stayed, and got it we did... but still...

I mean, if you have t10 dps gear and are building up a healing/tanking set, that's one thing. But if you're going to turn up in healing or tanking gear, you might as well heal or tank. If your gear isn't good enough for, say, Halls of Reflection, then DON'T QUEUE FOR IT. Run it on normal until you get the hang of it and get some upgrades/welfare t9. I tanked HoR normal on my paladin with maybe 2-3 epics and a bunch of level 80 blues and it was fine. (Given, paladin tank....but still.) Pay your friggin' dues as a tank/healer if that's what you want to do with your character. About the only exception I can think of is if you're dual-speccing healing/tanking, since you can't exactly do both at the same time. But even then, the person filling the role you're not currently in should get priority.

The good tanks aren't the ones with the pretty epics; they're the ones who actually KNOW HOW TO TANK regardless of their gear level. I know some VERY excellent tanks and have seen them work their way through different LK raids in order to get geared up later in the expansion (one had quit and came back in Uld; another took a break from his tank, then geared up in ToC; a third finally leveled his old main and has been picking up gear in the ICC era). When they got better gear, it only made what they were already doing easier.

Healing is a bit harder to gauge, since it's completely possible to have no one die on a run and still be a bad healer. With my new unit frames, I can see when a druid healer isn't rolling rejuvs on the entire party in a 5m. Unless you have a 19k hp tank in dps gear or something extreme like that, there's absolutely no reason not to HoT everyone in the party. You can even shift out to dps and still have rejuvs rolling. I'm not talking about rejuvs that fall off; I'm talking about ones that were never put up in the first place. It's a little harder to spot in the other classes, since they're not as HoT reliant, but rest assured, there are in fact ways of healing improperly (or at least less efficiently) for all healing classes, so it's good to learn how to do so by actually playing as a healer.

So yeah I try to heal dps but when it comes down to it, tank takes priorty, sometimes so much I nearly kill myself trying to keep him alive.

@Ryai: If you're undergeared, you have to heal differently; you can't just throw out rejuvs constantly. xD (And I forget to heal myself too sometimes, even now.) So don't worry about that; that would have been an extreme case. I just mean in normal random heroics, you might as well toss out rejuvs (or at least a WG every now and then), just to keep everyone topped at all times. After all, why not?

Oh oh oh I totally forgot about this one! I went into Heroic Violet Hold the other day on my hunter. The first boss was the corehound. He went down alright; it took a little longer than usual because I was the top dps and I wasn't doing huge amounts (I only had 2 tier pieces at the time and Sil doesn't still have tons of epic items yet, but I know my rotations well enough). That's fine, whatever; DPS isn't fantastic but at least everyone's trying. I can live with that.

Then the ethereal boss was our second boss in the dungeon. I happen to hate this guy, but whatever; it's pretty routine by now, annoying as he is. So I'm getting ready to run ahead of the tank so I can gain some distance and get a few of my non-moving shots in, save my movable shots for when he kites too close and...

The..tank isn't kiting him. Actually he seems to be parked right in front of the ethereal's prison and is just...tanking him there.

We're yelling at this guy in chat while trying to dps him down, and me and the other two did an alright job of attempting to burn him down despite, y'know, getting arcane'd to death. Naturally we wipe. When all of us question the tank, he basically goes, "We should've had enough dps to burn him down," and then leaves party.

Expecting people to be geared enough to faceroll dungeons is no excuse to disregard the normal strategies and whine when it didn't work.

Oh I know but mean had to throw something as I spammed everything on tank to keep him alive; wilg growths and regrowths went out as fast as I could do them, but just yeah Garfrost kept overwhelming meeee...


Tho Saturo's dance comment reminds me of a Gundrak run. I'm doing it a few hours after a fail Botanica run that only got finished thanks to Aria [Coal needed the damned alch quest in there]. So just before moorabi I comment;

Bounces around as tank and DPS kill the trash before Moorabi, the brutes and all

We didn't wipe or anything and it was pretty funny :c I'd forgotten about the trolls on the other side but well guess they didn't forget me.

Yeah, it's rough as a druid to do stuff like that. You're undergeared, the tank is getting cuffed HARD, and the dps may or may not be clearing their debuffs. Ugh.

It sounds like you did fine under the circumstances, but might want to consider nourish on the dps instead of regrowth in future high-pressure situations, since the cast time is much shorter. Took me ages to get used to that and to really trust nourish, but it does work. (It's one of those tips that will make your life slightly easier; just passing forward the friendly druid karma!)

This happened to me tonight:

I"m leveling my Horde hunter and we're in SM Cathedral- the tank (a warrior)is level 37, the Resto Shammy, my cow and the lock are all 38 and then the Ret pally is level 39. So, we're doin our thing and the Pally keeps pulling aggro off the tank...every time! The tank is saying "Hey, let me get aggro before you attack" and the rest of us are trying to help the tank out but the Ret Pally just keeps blowing up the mobs and pulling aggro. At the end of the instance he says "Hey, learn how to actually tank next time" I told him to learn to watch his aggro.
