Bulletdance:

The reason the zone buff is there is simply this:

It's Arthas we're talking about here. The big bad guy of the Warcraft franchise for nigh on the last ten years. And we're killing him. And Blizzard wants as many people as possible to be able to experience that fight and to see the fall of the Lich King. And since some raids are more casual and more permissive in regards to things like talent specs, they might have some trouble getting to see that fight without the buff.

I mean, it's certainly been helpful to my raid. We do well enough, but Hellscream's buff has certainly made some fights a lot easier, and that extra 5% damage may help us finishing the learning process on Sindragosa.

That's why they're making it "easier." Because this is Big Story Stuff, and Blizzard wants people to see it. They're not trying to run anyone off, they're trying to include more people in a major turning point in Azeroth.

Saturo: No problem, was mostly my fault for making it sound like I reported GS spammers for just saying GS [and not that I reported when they start spamming trade/general with it or the arguments that come from it >.>]

Though anyways. I think this post takes the cake from MMO.
I'm still waiting for the casual's argument to wanting to be special or differentiable in this game. Shouldn't effort and time invested be rewarded?

Imagine, if you will, you're at the Olympics. You can't win a gold medal because you have a life and can't train or practise as much as the gold medallists, it's completely fair the track gets made shorter and you get to run faster than everyone else because you need to see gold medals too!

And hey if that doesn't work, let the gold medallists get their gold first, but it's ok because everyone gets to have a gold medal later, yay now we're all number one! Or wait... doesn't that mean we're all last as well?

IMO, everyone should get the chance to see the Olympics, not everyone should get a gold medal.

<end metaphor>
Afaik the buff is removable is it not? And that even without it, if you've managed to down all bosses when it was 5% or even without the buff, wouldn't that negate any win a casual would do? Mean yeah I'd be all fist pump if I managed to ever, ever down the LK. But it would most likely be at lv 85, full geared as best I could manage with a buff of 30%. Ofc anyone who had downed him at 80 and with little to no buff would have more of a right to brag, not that I'd really brag about downing the LK seriously <_>

This whole thing MMO wise is turning into another sparklepony argument tbh. As honestly I don't think people are giving the dungeon good enough credit. Why? I've been in a few old world and tbc raids that have failed badly, with max level characters, with epic gear and some of these people had been to Ulda [the then raid at the time].

And let the Wiping commence as people thought they could dick about.

Now, if you can still fail on even C'THUN of all things, yes sadly you can, why are people acting as if a single damn buff is going to make or break an encounter that afaik is still very, very hard even with the buffs?

Something I've wondered about this buff for a while.
Is it before other buffs, or after?

Yeah because people get big heads thinking gear is everything.

Hell Ony killed me once cause I got distracted and lol deep breath death. This was before she was fixed, the day before, was trying to help a friend get the achieve on an alt but it just wasn't happening. I was still to green around the gills for solo taking Ony on, especially with worrying about a lowbie :|
