Yeah I've been thinking about that myself. I don't use my white lion anymore because he looks so out of place with everything in Pandaria.

I dont think it'd stop me. I do wish they'd update the older animal models like the white lion.

I'm sure the other models will be updated later on. Maybe not fort his expansion.. But it would be silly not to.

I don't think I could ever part with Nanaki, no mater how much they mangle the hyena model.
However there are some beast that I've wanted to use but just can't because I think the model is absolutely terrible (current bats/chimera's being at the top of my list)
But I would love to see the older models updated.

I really do wish they would update the Vanille and BC pets' models...
If you compare the "old" tigers to the new Pandarian tigers, they look really terrible...Even if they used to be my favorite WoW pets...You know what I mean?
Just addind some texture would make they look better already....
The same thing goes for the mounts...The new gryphon/wyvern models look so good compared to the old ones!! They should use the same models for them...just a simple re-color... :p

I agree. my three main cats, Phobos, Aris and Boyfriend (moonstalker runt, ghost saber and purple frostsaber) along with many other pets, did not thee the light of day once I tamed some of the new mop models. having an oldworld pet stand next to a mop pet gives you a really harsh reminder of just how old the game is getting.
I have heard plenty of hunters say that they love their "box kitten" and I know there would be a lot of hunters that would be sad to see the old look go but at this point the differences are starting to look more and more obvious and it would probably be better for the game if old world models started to get updated to match the rest of the world. the level of quality in the models is starting to make the world look like a Frankenstein monster where things are very inconsistent.
Of course updating everything would be a pretty big tasks so I can hardly blame them for not undertaking it yet.

And while I really like most of the new pet models, I actually prefer vanilla models to many of the Outland models or the extra fluffy models (Sambas and the WoD wolves).

I really don't see anything that bad about the older pet models and will continue to use them. My moonstalker Moonfire has been with me since level 14 back in Vanilla days and I still let him out frequently. The older cats are not tigers to me but are saber cats, hence the longer fangs. The Pandarian cats are true tigers so of course they look different, That's the way I'm playing it anyway. I still like the old lions too.
