I don't agree with you on the "Everyone who says uni are the best days of your life never really got it" because it depends person to person. I enjoyed my time at uni it was fun!

Yeah I think so too. It depends on what you study as well..my undergrad was multimedia and film so I spend 4 yrs poking cameras in ppls faces hehe! It got more serious when I did my post grad in teaching and library but I still had fun Maybe because I lived at home it wasnt as stressful? Who knows.

Everyone who says uni are the best days of your life never really got it. Maybe they studied back in the times with my parents when it was still fun but not anymore.

As much as I appreciate that you're trying to relate to me, it really does depend on the person, as those guys said. For some people, studying and doing the work is easy and they can enjoy it and get on with it much better than other people can. I know people that find my course a breeze. o.o And maybe they get to spend the entire time living in houses with their good friends who they get along with. A lot of people also stress out a lot easier than others, myself included. The minute I feel something going wrong, I stress. The further into uni I go, the more I think it might not be for me. But what else would I do? While I really do enjoy studying computer games art, it's undoubtedly stressful work. If only I had any chance working in animal care, sigh.

On the same topic but not at all a rant, we went house viewing today! Looks like we've picked our house too... which is just down the road from my current one. Like literally I can see it from my road-view bedroom window. xD Moving everything over will be eeeeasy rofl.

No. I'm not jealous. Those breasts look PAINFUL. And I already have big enough boobs, so I *know* they can make your back sore. Also I simply don't appreciate sexualising video game characters like this. I'm not jealous, I don't care if men drool over her. All I care about is that they're ruining a game character for me and/or making the rest of us 'serious gamer girls', for lack of a better term, look bad.

(also it was a final fantasy character. I've not played a single ff game and I STILL didn't appreciate it because 'gamer girl' whores piss me off.)

So uh Puella Magi Oriko Magica has a cool story (it's a spinoff of Madoka in a different timeline where Mami always remembers to keep her head screwed on!) but the art is ugh. It's not that good sadly :/ Story is good!

Oh god her. One of the reasons I really don't like her aside from her nonexistant personality other than to be the 'kickass girl with giant tits' is the fanboys and the slutty fanart of her. Bad enough she was created to look the way she does. The fandom makes it 10x worse. x.x;

EDIT: (Mind you, I speak of Tifa the character, not people who cosplay her. People are free to like what they like. She is a character I despise and I'm allowed to despise her and voice why. I'm in no way calling anyone who cosplays her a slut, just for clarification even though the post I quoted was talking about the character.)

No, I'm sorry, not cool. If this person was a boothbabe being employed to wear that attire, fine. It's in poor taste for companies to use sex appeal in that way to appeal to the stereotypical straight male gamer and I understand people not appreciating it. But if this is just a cosplayer who's doing this for fun, then what gives you the right to just label her as a slut and decry her as a "non-serious gamer"?

Yes, games as a media are woefully plagued by male gaze. There are practically no non-conventionally attractive female protagonists out there as of this post, and many of them are created solely to titillate heterosexual male players in some way. And I agree that that fact is abhorrent. But that is not the same issue as this.
You don't like how Tifa-the-character dresses? That's cool, I understand. But this is a real damn person who took the time to assemble a costume together (of an admittedly pretty skimpy character, but we have to recognise that Tifa comes from an age where games were still in their infancy and gender recognition was not the hot topic it was today). And she was comfortable enough with her body to wear this out in public. That's a lot of time, dedication and bravery - and she does not need people slut shaming her because of it. Nor does any other woman out there who voluntarily chooses to dress as one of these sexualised characters, or chooses to dress in any damn way at all.

Uh, yeah, this, 100%. :-/ Guys, she put effort into her costume, too. If she liked it, let her. She probably has to put up with endless bullshit because she likes a character that other people don't like- I hate to know she's getting hated for just showing that she likes the character enough to cosplay.

My rant is not a focus point for you to tell me what's wrong and right, thank you very much. Plus, the rant was more or less meant to be about the fact I got tagged as 'jealous' for not liking her cosplay. If I don't like that sort of thing, I don't like it. And besides, I never posted the image, and according to one of the other people who commented, this lady is also a porn star. I am very much allowed to think that is wrong, thank you.

Also bare in mind, as I said, I know NOTHING of Final Fantasy except for a couple of character names. I'm not aware that Tifa is a disliked character.

I don't like over-sexualising video game characters. You think I enjoy seeing, for example, girls dressed up as Misty from Pokémon, one of my best childhood memories, with their shorts undone and posing in a very risque manner? Well, I don't. And I don't see why I should.

Haha, I thought so. My first thought when you spoke of a FF character was "oh must be 'Busty' " which is the nickname my BF always gives Tifa when we play FF7...incidently I cosplayed her one year at Anime Evolution, the Advent Children version, me and a friend spent months making the costume from scratch...Sadly I couldn't "fill" the roll fully, but I did have a lot of fun, even got "kidnapped" a few times...then Squall (from FF8) aka my BF had to come rescue me ^^.

Oh right rant thread...ummm...I haven't been to a convention in at least 5 years T.T I really miss them, had so much fun!!! Love Cosplaying and seeing others cosplay...though some variations on costumes are...questionable...

Don't argue. This is a thread for sharing frustrations, not for debate.

While I will admit to being slightly guilty of this myself sometimes, there is a rule against people debating against other people's rants. Even if other people think my views are 'wrong', I'm here to rant about the things I'm annoyed about, not to have someone tell me my opinion isn't right.

In other ranting news, why the crap would you seperate Lloyds TSB and make 'Lloyds' one bank and 'TSB' another, make me a TSB customer and then put two Lloyds banks in Middlesbrough less than 100 meters away from one another?? There are no TSB banks in Middlesbrough AT ALL! Looks like I'm changing banks. :/

Also wtf my card shop has everything BUT boyfriend Christmas cards in it? They even had a PETS section but not a boyfriend/girlfriend one??
