Not to Shalyth but I've been thinking of changing it to Chimera for a while since everything else like my 3DS, pokemon, FB, magistream, etc. etc. all use that name but yeah I def plan to legally rename myself Chimera xD hopefully sometime soon at that if I can figure out the full extent of the costs and fees

Actually my full name is Lotta-Sofia, and I have always, always hated Lotta and never went by it. I was called Lulu by my family (and even at school) until I was about 7 or 8 and decided that I hate it (I still do, actually) and insisted that people start using my real name, Sofia. I really love my name actually, and although it's a very popular one for the generation of children being born now, it was quite unusual (and a bit posh) in my neck of the woods back in the 80s. Finns didn't usually name their children that, because it stank of upper-class Fenno-Swedish pretensions, which is still an iffy subject in Finland today. Now there are Sofias born left, right and center, but I only ever met one (an American) with that name in my age group despite living in several countries and going to International schools.

I guess what I'm trying to say here is that I like, and am proud of, my name and would definitely not change it to Mozag or any other internet name I go by.

Hmm not sure I've been Cas to several guilds and my other wow name Sakurie (Sak to my singapore guild/friends) but dunno. My RL name is Jodie-Ann but I went by Jodie most of my school days (or J-A/Jodes depending). I hate my full name and when ever someone uses it, I feel like im in trouble lol!!

Although in RL I answer to both my Real name and my Petopia/hunter name, I don't think changing my name to Makoes would be a good idea. See, for me, each of my 'main' toons takes on a different aspect of myself and although I really like who "Makoes" is, I don't think unleashing her on the world would be a good thing ^^ At least not without Kweh's cheery patience and Charfire's steadfast focus. See, Makoes is the bold predator in my heart, the fierce, bold confident person I feel inside but don't have the nerve to be...Her motto is "Kill it, problem solved."

My parents, that's who.) but what with most of my friends/social interaction being online, I treat "Lupis" like a second name. I wouldn't change my name, but many of my real-life friends call me Lupis anyway, so I might as well have a second real name.

I love the name Finduilas. It's a name from the Tolkien universe. Finduilas was a human, the mother of Boromir and Faramir. I'm Findu or Finduilas in most online games and I even listen to Findu in RL. My real name is Katja. A name some other languages seem to have trouble with (French always pronounce it funny, and while I was living in Washington DC they called me Cat or Kate.
Finduilas is such a lovely name for me I'd even consider giving it as second name to my child if I would ever have one.

It's interesting that so many seem to be unhappy with their name. Of course, I can't talk, having actually changed (well, added to) my name quite some years ago. Having a bunch of very Swedish names when you're moving to an English-speaking country seemed like a less than stellar idea, so...

To address the question though, nope, I can't see myself changing my name to any of my characters, in many ways for similar reasons to Makoes'. Anyia is only one aspect of who I (think I) am, and Faiyth, my BE paladin is the self-righteous substance-dependent know-it-all I'm trying to not be/become, but know it wouldn't take much for me to fall into that role.

While I wouldn't change/add my name to Anyia, I do listen to it and certainly don't mind it. If I was to do anything in terms of RL name-change it would be to drop half my names and move my actually used one to the front - down here every institution assumes whatever happens to come first is the name you actually go by, which is soooo not the case in Sweden.

When I was first introduced to online worlds, back in like 1992 or 1993, the first one was a small, social MOO where people seemed to use their real names. "Wayne" was taken, so I used a different spelling. I kept it when I joined the next one, and then the one after that, and then it just kinda stuck...

So, yeah, that's why my main character name isn't very imaginative

That said, I'm really unhappy with my name, so if I decided to take the plunge, I'd definitely start using my middle name Maria. I'd also love to start using my mom's maiden name, as my family name has no literal meaning. The maiden name's meaning is something alike to "fire hill", which sounds pretty badass.
