And so it struck me.
The whole speed thing is a non-issue. Bulls are very fast and agile. Ever see the bull in a china shop episode from Mythbusters?
Thoughts? Opinions? Cow-pet names?

And pandas aren't bears at all, despite the misnomer "panda bear".

Ahem. Regardless. I'd kill for cow pets. Cows are great. There could be different spot patterns and shagginess levels, and some of them could have crazy Texas Longhorn horns.

and as I keep reminding him, if ever we find ourselves trapped in the wilderness with no means of return to civilization, I can always fire up the ol' barbecue and "having steak twice a week".

We also have humans, who are an 'ape race' yet hunters can tame gorillas and monkeys.Junrei wrote:Considering we have a 'cow race' and cows are used a livestock...cause we eat them....and they're very fearful creatures.....I think that can give you a pretty good idea to why we can't tame them.
One thing to keep in mind regarding bovines, specifically the bos bovines, is that wild cattle are rather different from their domesticated cousins. Humans have spent a lot of time breeding dairy and meat cattle that are easily managed and, for the most part, stupid. Seriously, compared to wild cattle, they're pretty much mentally handicapped. (The exception that comes to mind would be bucking bulls, who are bred to be intelligent and aggressive)
Wild cattle, both male and female, are not animals you want to mess with. They may look placid when they're standing around grazing and snoozing, but they're extremely dangerous when threatened or protecting herdmates. The assorted 'cape buffalo versus lions' videos on youtube will attest to that.
They're also *very* strong. I've personally seen a bull hook his head under a man and fling him in an arc about 10 feet high and 30 feet long. That was just done with the strength of his neck.
So there is something to be said for cattle as hunter pets.

Agreed. Werewolves aren't actual wolves. And no, the Twilight movie didn't make real werewolves, before someone says something.Sukurachi wrote:Technically, Worgen are not a race of wolves. they are cursed humans.
And pandas aren't bears at all, despite the misnomer "panda bear".
Also I'm not the type of hunter that says "Hey lets tame everything!" I'm happy with what we got and I personally don't see a cow as a vicious hunter pet that will hunt game. Have you ever tried to tell a cow what to do? It doesn't work very well.

Not to mention, we have quite a few pets that don't fit the "vicious" description (moths anyone?). Also, I'm pretty sure the first post was made in jest; no need to be taking it so seriously and killing the fun. It's an amusing idea, even if most of us know it'll never happen.

Well if you ask for opinions, you need to expect people to not agree with the idea as well, in jest or not.TygerDarkstorm wrote:I have told a cow what to do. It involved the use of a halter and a handy little stick in which I used to place its feet and raise or lower its back for showing. We don't exactly use verbal commands on our pets in WoW so "telling it what to do" isn't applicable.

I'm pretty sure I don't poke my pets to do things and animals do listen to verbal commands and gestures. So I feel that is applicable.
Also...moths? I point you to Mothra....

C'mon! Can't forget about Mothra! She's awesome and will kick peoples butt!

Ahhh yes they would be cute! Also some sort of bull perhaps, maybe they could all be added in with yaks, could be a neat family.LupisDarkmoon wrote:While I think the post was meant to be a little more in jest than it's being interpreted, I would like to argue that worgen are a race of wolves. Sort of. They're humans, yes, but they're- okay, let me get my worgen lore straight- cursed by angry dead wolf spirits. Or something like that. The spirits of wolf-spirit-blessed-elves? That somehow created a worgen curse??? that spreads????????????????

This... This would quite possibly make me come back to wow because I'd be a tauren with a cow pet and I would name it Mooregard. Simply because. No reason why.Vephriel wrote:Ahhh yes they would be cute!
