YAY, I got a response from Nintendo, and can now get my 'free' download!! *turns on DS, enters code* "Not enough space, you need to free up XXX blocks to download" ...lol even if I erase everything on the SD card there is still not enough blocks, takes SD card out and looks at the 2GB thing...Cheap arse default SD card...Guess I got to go get myself a 32GB from the store. At least my 3DS-XL came with a proper SD card. But eh, still cheaper then actually buying the game.

I was just about to come and post the exact same thing. Deleted *everything* I could delete and I'm 500 blocks short!

Hm, I happen to have a fair bit of money located on my eshop and I'm tempted to download Pokemon X, but I'm was in the same boat Makoes is in. XD That being said, I know you CAN transfer data between SD cards and I already have Animal Crossing on this one.


...Basically, anyone know where I can get a 32GB SD Card aside from amazon? Fairly cheap? I know they're not expensive, but still. XD

I love the berry field! And it's right next to the breeder and that battle mansion... pretty much that route is where I spend like 90% of my time.

BUT. SO. I'm starting up a new game of X, but I'm gathering a bunch of Pokemon from other games so I have them. I have a way to get all the starters, except for the R/S/E ones (although I do have the event Torchic). I was wondering if anybody had a Treecko or Mudkip available to trade? I have Charmander, Totodile, Turtwig, Chimchar, Piplup, Snivy, Froakie and Fennekin right now, and I'll also have Chikorita and Cyndaquil fairly soon. Oshawott and Tepig will be a bit harder for me to obtain because I'm rather far in my Black version and not too keen on starting over, but I was planning on nabbing Black 2 soon so I'll hopefully have those guys too. So yes, I'm willing to trade any of those starters. I also believe I have a few Pokemon that know their hidden ability. I know for a fact one is Vulpix, but I think I have a couple others.

Any electronic store should sell a 32GB SD card, and quite a few grocery stores that have a electronics section should have them, they are fairly common. Usually between $20-$30. You don't need a "top quality" one for a DS, the cheapest 32GB works just fine. And if your looking to save, a 16GB should work as well. I just picked a 32GB since that's the larges a 3DS can handle without having to reformat a larger SD card to work for a 3DS.

Hmmmm, I've been trying to think about what I could do for my New Y game, to make it interesting. I already have a wonderlocke challenge on my X-download game, so I went hunting for pokemon Challenges and thing I found one.

Solo Challenge
This challenge is simple yet challenging and exciting. Want to show the world you can take a single Pokémon all the way to the end? Then this challenge is for you~!

Rules:
1. Once you choose a Pokémon to use, you must use that Pokémon, and ONLY that Pokémon, in battle for the entire playthrough. It's the only Pokémon you can have on your team to train and battle. No switching Pokémon mid-game; You're using this one until the very end, including the Elite Four's Champion.
2. You must be able to obtain this Pokémon before the third badge. Until then, you can use your starter, but once your Pokémon is obtained you must release your starter and never speak of it again. Note: The Pokémon you use can be obtained through catching, receiving as a gift in-game, or trading from another game. (if you trade, it's preferable you trade it over as an egg ASAP.) You may not hack to obtain the Pokémon.

So now I just have to find out which pokemon are obtainable before the 3rd badge...Catch one in one of my games, breed a good natured one and send over the egg...Could be interesting!!

I kinda want to do this. I've been breeding Cubones to use as my nuzlocke starter (well, haven't decided yet if I'm willing to try nuzlocking or not) since you can't have manipulated games like the ROM's online. I really like the randomness of the hacked ROM's cause you never know what you'll see.

But since I can't have that, I at least want to decide what my starter is as long as it crosses over no higher than lvl 5 and an ordinary pokemon xD The idea of having it be my only pokemon the whole way sounds interesting :0 Specially cause Cuuuuuubooooneeee!

Or maybe I'll go with a Zangoose.... Or Noibat.... urgh many choices now in mah head D:

I still have to download Y cause no consistent wifi here but I want to attempt this as soon as the game will allow me to obtain pokemon from the pokebank. And when I decide on who to use

I am toying with maybe Skiddo/Gogoat...I am not sure if the rules mean only a pokemon obtainable IN the game before the 3rd gym, or just to HAVE the pokemon by the 3rd gym...

Maybe a move set like Horn leech, Milk drink, Earthquake and Aerial ace. Heals would be important for a solo challenge, and a versatile move set would be good. Gogoat can learn a surprising amount of different types of moves...which could be handy for certain battles.
With earthquake and Aerial ace being TM moves, it would be possible later on to switch moves via TM's depending on what the next encounter would be...An Adamant nature would probably be best to maximize damage as the majority of gogoats attacks are physical.

Any suggestions?

Ahhh I have normal 3DS, so I think I'll stick to the 16GB then. I already have animal crossing on the 2GB one and Nintendo has a nice little guide to transfering data between them. XD

I'm not sure either, can I has link to what you're reading? Cubone is from Glittering Cave so they're before the 3rd gym as well ^___^ I keep staring at Zangoose though. My first lvl 100 was a Zangoose and even though his nature cuts his attack in games after Gen 3, he still can rip a hole through anything before it can touch him xD Always did love his Immunity ability, his speed, attack, and the crazy hell movepool :0 Not even Fairies will be able to escape him (Poison Jab TM, can breed Metal Claw/Iron Tail into them >:D)

@ Skiddo/Gogoat choice
It can learn a lot of varied and powerful physical moves, I'd try to get any TM's you'd think would benefit him to learn at any point in time in the journey, and keep a bunch of heartscales on hand so you can re-teach ones it learns via level up incase you want those back. It can also learn a lot of required HM's but I don't remember where the move deleter is so those could bite you in the back later on if he's before the path you require the HM for (unless you decide to white out after so you go back to the last pokecenter you were at but that means you gotta visit the town's pokecenter you want to return to, and then backtrack without visiting another one all the way to the deleter).

Which brings me to a question I just realized and originally returned here to ask. If we need a certain HM to get to the next area and our pokemon can't learn it, are we allowed to temporarily use a fresh caught pokemon for that duration--and just faint it before actually trying to move forward so we're not making any progress with it still battle-ready and just release/re-faint if we need to heal our first pokemon? I'm not sure if this can be done, rule-wise with pokemon who can already learn the move so you can avoid that trip to the deleter, so I'm super curious to know what I can and can't do

Here's the link to some Challenge mode idea's/rules. As to your questions,

1. You are always allowed to catch up to two HM buddies if you need them to progress. Just don't let them battle if you caught them in a way that somehow broke the rules of the challenge!
When you don't need them to progress, you keep them in the PC box.

What do you mean by "white out?" the purpose of the challenge mode is to NOT let your team feint, else they are dead...for solo challenge this would mean the end of your challenge.
As to heat scales...I think I am going to add some more difficulty to my play through by not being able to capture pokemon (aside from HM purpose ones), which just leaves finding them on the beach as my only way to get them XD
You are allowed to combine rules and restrictions from other challenges, however, once you decide to follow a rule, you must follow that rule always.
For example: No healing items, only heal in centers. or the No centers only healing items allowed.

What you need to best understand about challenge modes is that they are completely up to YOU. No one governs or double checks that you are following the rules, they are completely self-imposed, and upheld. You can pick and choose whatever restrictions you want, but the core thing is that once you pick the rules, you stick to the rules you picked, no changing things part way through. And Have fun!

The only pokemon I should have difficulty with would be flying and ice types...with ice being the biggest threat.

Zangoose would be a fun pokemon to play through with. Cubone is so cute, and could be an interesting challenge.

I've never done a challenge run/nuzlocke before so I have absolutely no idea how they operate I don't really watch streams either except for Twitch Plays Pokemon but that's cause it's hundreds-thousands of people controlling one character and not one person progressing with certain guidelines (makes it more fun to watch xD) so I've never seen one in action.

Reading the solo challenge, it doesn't have the nuzlocke challenge rules like most of the other ones listed, so I don't think I'll feel guilty just resuming whenever I die I feel like I'm cheating if I'm not following the rules the person who made up the challenge presented cause it's like playing a hardmode challenge on easy mode xD I know a lot of people who would probably definitely toss rules onto easy runs to make them challenging but I think I'ma be quite happy with what's set

I just need the friggin game to download. I spent like half an hour in the stairwell in my apartment building only to download about 20% of the game and I spent another half-hour ish at McDonalds and only downloaded about 2%. I went back to hang in the stairwell at home and I managed to download another 2% in about 15min. I just can't get consistent wifi long enough to download the whole game which is extremely frustrating, argh!
