Hearthstone Mount Available Now I think

Think I finally found an acceptable combo for my mage deck until I manage to get some more advanced cards. sneaky blizz lured me in with a mount and now I'm here to stay. I wish I could help fellow petopians struggling to gain some wins though.
just curious, did everyone start out as a mage or is your class picked at random?

Everyone starts off as a mage, but you can unlock the other classes by beating them after the tutorials.

I didn't really know much about the game so I got my 3 wins (amidst MANY losses) with just the basic mage deck because I had no idea you could upgrade it, haha. Would have made my life easier, but oh well.

I admit I might go back and try some more HS now that I'm over the frustration of trying to win against other people.

Also note that if you haven't played before (or hadn't played much) the game will try to match you against people with like decks / win ratings. A new player won't get matched against a rank 1 with tons of legendaries, so that should make it easier to get your 3 wins.

I dunno, I ran up against someone with Malygos and High Tinker Mekkatorque so... I think the matching system may not be all that accurate...

either that or I'm better than I think I am. Eesh, that deck was brutal though.

Yeah, I went up against a few people with really insane decks during my struggles. I managed in the end though!

I didn't have any interest in Hearthstone before now, and my plan was to win enough games, get my mount, and then not come back. But now I've been sucked into it a bit. It took me quite a few defeats to get comfortable playing and build a decent hunter deck. I think a big part of the appeal is the nostalgia for the days when I used to play TCGs, so now that I've got my mount I'll go back and experiment with builds.

Good luck to everyone still working on it! Is it possible that the people with really strong decks (I was torn apart by one such deck) are people who bought expert packs and got very lucky with them, or got a good few? I've no idea where most cards come from yet, so that's purely speculation.

Yeah Veph I had the same problem for a while. it took me forever to discover a way to add new cards to my deck and even then I probably tried and discarded seven different builds before I found one that worked really well. there are some parts of the overall layout of the different menus and lobbies that make it a bit confusing at first. But I have everything figured out for the most part now.

I had a legendary but no pvp wins so I was being matched against all "newbies," so it is possible to run up against someone with no wins and a pretty good deck (if they were to buy card packs). I also had knowledge of some advanced combos/plays so even with a mostly basic deck it probably felt to some of my opponents like they were playing a seasoned player, even though I am not.
