Yeah no. They've got 10 levels of zones, basic endgame, and a ton of new models to do. They don't need the extra workload.

On the other hand they've been saying 'maybe subraces' for five years or more... so I'm not holding my breath. Also, just to point out, 'short-tailed draenei' (or even 'long-tailed draenei') is not a legit lore subrace. They aren't going to make an option for broad anatomy changes just because X number of people don't like the change. Hell, 99% of the world hates the female worgen chihuahua face and they still haven't fixed it.

Take the worgen example. Some people (probably insane) say they like the slutface chihuahua. If they make another one that isn't, and leave the other one an 'option', what next? Pug worgen? Bullmastiff worgen? Worgen that look like poodles?

It's more likely (by a mile) that the physical polygon model will remain fixed in one state, as they are now (save with the mentioned possibility of leaving the low-poly models in the game). And if they DO introduce subraces, they'll just be alternate skins. Like Dark Irons, which model-wise are the same as all other dwarves, just different colors. You won't get taunka but you might get Grimtotem. They've said that the pandaren model is the benchmark they're using. Presence of tail or not on the girl aside, it doesn't matter what face you pick, the polygon framework doesn't change, although shading on the face maps can give the illusion of it. (thank god. I'd hate to think they put in a skinny pandaren or something.)

By looking at how they have done the models they have showed off so far I think it's most likely going to be a more detailed model of what we have now with more improvements to the hands and face area. I don't think they are going to change the shape of the body. They have not changed the over all body shapes of the other models.

Yup. They're not just editing the skeleton. They're making it from scratch.

This is the art of the female draenei from the WoD page. Note the tail dimensions.

I really expect this is what we're likely to get.

Edit: I love the new horns and I only pray they look this good.

A lot of art has them with long tails, I don't think that means they will in game have long tails.

It's not 'over' hopefulness. I am -expecting- them to be true to their art. Look at the art of the orc warlords, then look at the orc model. You can see that they followed the art in the model. This is new art based on the new models and work done on the game. This isn't early concept art, like the draenei priestess with the whip-tail mentioned earlier, done in the creaking dawn of racial concept.

The same consistency is true in the dwarf, and the other races they've demo'd so far.

Why would draenei be any different?

Don't accuse me of being something I'm not. It's rude.

I'm going to side with cowmuflage in my guess. In-game models are often different than concept art, and changing the length of the tail is a significant change from the previous model, when all the other character revamps have been very conservative.

It's also rude to act like anyone who disagrees with you is ignorant or otherwise being dumb, too.

I hate stupid short, limp tails. Arguing back and forth is not going to make me like them. Nor, I suppose, are any arguments I put forth to say how much more sense they make to be longer will change your mind about it. So there's nothing either way to do except wait for Blizzard to finish the model.

I have not said anyone who disagrees with me is dumb. Please show me where I have and If I have I'm sorry. You also treat others like they are dumb/ignorant.

I agree with Nachtwulf.

Also.. Why do you feel the need to have to shoot down everyone's ideas and hopes constantly? Like.

Just... Tone it down? Maybe??? People can wish for what they want. If they hope for longer tails, let them hope. You don't need to keep cramming negativity down their throat.

Personally. I would LOVE to see them add in a new set of colour options for Worgen in WoD. White fur.
Will it happen..? Probably not. But I can still hope.

See what I'm sayin'.

You do. This whole thread has been one negativity after another.

Someone says 'boy, I hope they do X.' Your response is inevitably 'man I hope they never do 'x', I hate 'x', I'll quit/racechange/whatever if they do 'x'. Why would they ever do 'x' it's awful.'

That sounds pretty negative to me.

You like the short tails, fine. I don't. Lots of other people don't. You don't have to keep carping on the fact that we should all like short stumpy tails because you do. Everyone is entitled to feel how they feel about whatever and don't need someone telling them how awful their opinions are all the time.

I think the main issue is that everyone keeps trying to have the last word, leading to a lot of cyclical and repetitive debates! I'm sure we can all keep discussing thoughts and speculation on the new models without having to dispute every idea we don't personally agree with. :)
