Potential new hunter pets in WoD

I'm going to be the odd one out and say I kind of dislike the new Talbuks. They look less grace full then the old models to me. Bult more like a bull then a antelope. The new colouring is nice but that's all I can say really.

I'm just going to upload some small model shots for the OP that are SHAMELESSLY STOLEN AND RESIZED FROM THIS MMO-CHAMPION POST. I hope they won't be too upset.

Blizzard has implemented a new container file format, dubbed CASC. This replaces MPQ. It's apparently quite complex and only a couple of sites seem to have reverse-engineered it so far, and they're of course not going to share their toys Hopefully Wowmodelviewer will be updated to read it, or a new third party tool is released! Until then, I can't take any official site images

I like how the boars resemble the BC ones. It could of been very easy just to make up a whole new look for them seeing as this is a different timeline and you could brush the spines off as "fel taint" etc but nope they stuck to their guns and made them look like the old model (and that is a really cool model the old one!)

Hahaha just saw the "scaryplant" using the Hydra model.

Yeesh just notice the new Thrall modle. o.O Just how much time has passed for this guy? I think the pony tail doesn't fit him.
Also just doing a side by side of past, present and future Thrall made me kind of sad. it makes the graphics gap between old outlands and new outlands painful to look at.
its nice to see models getting updated but I think what I'm really craving is a polishing up of the old world terrain.

more on subject though, I like how they kept the boars close to the BC look too. I'm loving the color pallet on them. Also with the changes and updates to spore bats I may just go try out one of the purple ones.

Why do the new wolves have an artichoke on their neck? It looks horrible IMO, how to ruin an otherwise good model. Hopefully it's not so noticeable on the black model ingame...

I can attest to squealing like a little pig when I saw these models. I absolutely love everything. I am surprisingly very attached to the riverbeasts already, and can't wait to tame a few (read: all) of them.
And the wolves...and boars. Gorgeous, gorgeous work.

Perhaps it might be worth adding the plant hydra here. If dragon-parts zombie hydra is a possibility, then why can't a cool plant hydra be? We'll have to see about it, but it's not.. like.. the strangest thing that happened.

Eee, new models! This is so exciting. I love those talbuks. I'll have to take a closer look at everything when I have time later, about to head out now.

I'm so glad that the wolves seem to have the coyote run, hopefully it stays that way, I'd prefer that to the broken leg any day.

I wonder why everything seems to have the artichoke fur on the back of the neck though, not too sure about that...

Oh thank goodness, a wolf with the coyote run that doesn't have a model so old it makes me cry! Now if only they could do the same for Hyenas...

Super pumped about the boars, they really branched out color-wise this time. Loving the eye colors, too, very striking.

And the riverbeasts are, of course, glorious.

If this is the model quality we're to look forward to- consider me thoroughly excited!

Wolves look great, river beasts too...if they replaced those Draenei racial elekks with this, I'd finally ride a Draenei mount lol (coming from someone who has tons of Draenei toons, I never liked the elekks). Boars look sweet, I might actually use ones. Sporebats are super awesome...

I love those Talbuks!...except for those tails...wtf? Why do they have long, foofy tails?

I guess I must be the only person who isn't fond of the wolf pup. Growing up at a dog kennel (not IN one, just around one ), I look at that pup and automatically think it has distemper or severe worms. Pups are fat, rounded, healthy. That poor little thing makes me feel sad. I guess the artist chibified an adult wolf rather than designed it on what healthy pups usually look like. Either that or it's an adult chihuahua in a fur coat.

I wonder if they will mix n match the old and new Talbuk models. The new ones would make good "leader" types for the others in the herd. Just not so much a herd of them XD
