The big difference, re: tank swaps, is that MD is NOT a taunt. It doesn't force target change. It just funnels the aggro of your dps to a given place.

In a 25man or flex raid, you as an individual are going to be really unlikely to be able to singlehandedly override threat garnered by tanks even if you are pointing it in the wrong place. After the first 30s of engagement, that boss isn't going to come off where he's pointed by any means.

Also, currently, MD is on the hunter. I haven't seen anything to say they're changing that, so if you DO need to change targets, it should be a simple matter to click it off and replace it. You're not supposed to be unloading every DPS ever during the very moment of a tank swap either, so you should have ample time to reset it if you absolutely need to.

I really think this is just a 'make things less fussy' change, as they've said they're doing across all classes.
