of course not.

it's because we have such beautiful shoulders.. why hide them under ugly armour!

Yeah, I actually preferred them with that leaner look personally. If they ever did create some kind of size "sliders" for wow characters, I'd be slimming mine back down.

Oh, and some beautiful blonde lady from the "special" knight's quest in Un'Goro, I think, I'm almost sure one of the damsels is not an actual damsel there as well.

Yup, very much of a running joke. Nothing wrong with it, I think, unless someone actually uses it to offend.

I always assumed a big part of why the males were consider girly just had to do with how much magic has been engrained in their culture. they learned to enjoy the finer things in life since magic made life cleaner, easier and helped them advance faster. their building look more clean and sophisticated then say, an orc's common village. compare their towns and cities to something like Org, which is all raw wood and black iron, and they start to look garish. also they tend to have long ("girly")hair and as a people dependent on magic, most of them end of wearing robes.
I always liked the male belves and preferred their mussel build to all the other races. I don't mind the girly jokes though so long as no one is trying to insult someone with it.
as for the females, someone needs to feed the poor things. I think I would be happy with something as small as an upgrade to a runner's muscle build for them, or anything that makes them look like they can swing the weapons they hold. I have made several female belves and could never attach to any of them because they don't look like they can take a hit. >.<

I think it's just a general fantasy trope about lady-like male elves. There was a "that's not a lady" scene in Hobbit as well, if I remember right.

I like the belf male build much more than the beefy human, which I really hate, but the beefiness of orcs and draenei doesn't bother me at all. The orcs are big green savage hulks, and draenei remind me of that hugable djin from Disney's Alladin :P
The only thing that bother me in belfs, and prevents me from bonding with one, is their posture.

Also, they're such an elvish lot. Eww...

Are you sure you're not talking about Draenei? I know a lot of people like to say they have 'back problems' but I see nothing wrong with the way the female B'elf stands.

No, I mean belves. They can't stand any other way than with one shoulder higher than the other, males and females alike.

What fem draenei have is:

If they stood normally, they'd have a very boring silhouette. It's all in the silhouette. Each race needs to stand and look unique else they'd be boring.

I think the men are all right and would look weird any larger. If you take the semicanon view that elves stemmed from Dark Trolls... you can see the change in musculature go from the lanky trolls, to the still-lanky but upright nelfs, and then to the refined frame of the belfs/helfs. It makes logistic sense.

What bugs me about the girls, is their abject scrawniness, in addition to the size of their hands and feet. I mean, I know that's sort of the WoW aesthetic, but MY GOD those girls have disproportionately hugemongous pods for how waiflike the rest of their bodies are. And the slouch kind of bugs me too; it's just too much reinforcement of the 'snotty cheerleader you loathe' attitude the girls currently have.

My favorite characters in all these types of games are the Elven ones but I just don't care for the Blood Elves much because they are small and frail looking to me. The fact is though, that the Night Elves would probably look pretty much the same if they hadn't discovered the Well of Eternity and been strengthened and transformed by continued exposure to it's effects. They look like they do because of the Well, not because of any origin from Trolls which I do not accept.

The Night Elves are by far my favorite WoW race.

actually, even without the troll connection, you've got it backwards.

Night elves are the progenitor race and are not 'beefed out versions of high elves'. To the contrary, constant exposure to arcane energies made the regular (beefy) night elves grow more delicate and refined over time. High elves developed FROM the Highborne, through constant exposure/reliance on the Sunwell.

Nacht is right, it went like this:

Troll --> Well of Eternity --> Night Elves --> Sunwell --> High Elves / Blood Elves

Playable race of Chicken people please :D

*shrug*

Body shape in general doesn't bother me for the males, but its the dimorphism that bugs me the most of any of them. Bring back the alpha female troll as just one example. It's annoying that all the females have to be built in a way to keep hand crampers crampin happy.

Ahhh the alpha female trolls were some of my favourite, I really wish they'd stuck with some of those features, but I'm still pretty optimistic for the model revamps.

As for new playable characters, I just want a reptilian race. D:

Saurok would be ok, but they've not been given any sort of culture, their essentially just humanoid beasts. Not that that couldn't change of course.

What I really want playable, would be Ogres, Kobolds, Sporelings and Hozen for Horde.

Arrakoa, Jinyu, Broken (not as a subrace) for Alliance.

I actually did a write up for Sporelings and Kobolds a few years back. For Quilboar too, but after the events of Cata I just didn't think they'd work anymore. Maybe.

I'd love a reptilian race too...I'd also love some kind of sentient construct race but I don't have my hopes for anything even close lol.

For races already in game...I think only the nagas and ethereals appeal to me.

Same here. I didn't follow the game since alpha (didn't start playing 'til a few months after release), so I didn't see the alpha models until a couple years later. But when I saw them, I wished like crazy that they had kept them. I want to like female trolls, but I loathe their posture and their run. :( Slouchy female trolls would have been awesome IMO!
