I don't agree. I think that it should just make up for the damage our pets did if we dismiss them and have the talent active. That will make it alright for people who don't want a pet (Yes, there are a lot of them, we just don't see as many since we're PETopia), but also not a detriment for Marks/SV hunters who do like keeping a pet around and pick up one of the other talents instead.

It kinda sounds to me like this is a raid mechanic. Hunters want to min/max, they can roll without a pet and not be kept out of raids because of it. Hunters were already penalized in such situations for rolling WITH a pet; it would defeat the purpose to penalize them for running without one.

Yes the damage boost is fine but they should lose the buffs and rezzes the pet can provide and not get them in other ways like what was proposed in the post I responded to.

Because of the huge amount of pets, it could be generalized or just one or two options. Survival being magic-focused, get a shot that inflicts the magic vulnerability debuff, or decrease cooldowns on traps by a few seconds, and the MM buff from steady shot give a little bit more haste? Who knows!

I believe this is what Dan is talking about. But it does seem like Lone Wolf will get a special button going from the Uncategorized Spells on wowhead.

Lone Wolf: Grace of the Cat
Lone Wolf: Ferocity of the Raptor
Lone Wolf: Power of the Primates
Lone Wolf: Wisdom of the Serpent
Lone Wolf: Fortitude of the Bear
Lone Wolf: Haste of the Hyena

I'm guessing they will give us a fly out button like we have for call pets and traps and mage have for teleport spells.

New "Thunder Hydra" coming. It seems to have four legs. But the model isn't mapping the skin correctly at all, so there's not much more you can get from this.

I really like that new Hydra model it's amazing ^_^. I just can't help but wonder if there is a potential possibility that we could get a Cerberus like core hound out of the new Hydra Model, what do you guys think?

uhhh...YES PLEASE AND THANK YOU! this looks amazing- and its still only a blue blob! I think I found another almost-dragon for my stables. And thunder? Thunder goes well with lightning and I love lightning. *flails arms uncontrlibly.* cant wait to see the skin. Maybe we will see a spirit beast version of this, but either way I am so happy.
I et this new modle with have attack animations for all the heads, apposed to the old world hydras. and those running/walking animations? to die for!

EDIT I will post some pictures for you ^.^ one sec..

and here you go.

It's interesting with the four legs but I hope they improve it a lot. It looks blocky and where the heck are it's eyes?

That's what happens when the wrong skin is mapped over a model. Or perhaps just part of a right skin. Dragons require three skin files and it's quite possible the hydra might at least require two, but it hasn't been set correctly yet, or Wowhead's model viewer is just getting it wrong. You can see a kind of repeat tiling and stretching of textures over parts of the body.

Oooh that looks promising! I wonder if this will be a boss or a tameable.

I like how it runs and when it walks it reminds me of a silly cartoon bulldog,
Loving the chunky paws it has too.

The skin kind of looks like mouthparts stretched all over uwu

.. Waaah, I can't explain how happy I am about this. I expected there to be at least one new Hydra model, but to find out it's true is another thing altogether. It looks very cool already, and its swimming animation makes it look like a Kaiju!

And are those new animations? Seriously wicked. I approve so much and can't wait to see it properly textured!

(I'm not even a huge fan of Hydra.. well, I wasn't.. until now.)

Updated the OP with our own images for boars, riverbeasts and wolves, thanks to Spiritbinder. Still need to update sporebats, chimaeras and add the sandy wolf, but we just about have the core pets covered for now!

I like that one's design better than the previous one, but I still loathe their flying animations.

Honestly, I think that is the Chimera/Chimaera that we first saw in that pic with the Orc that mounted up on the Chimera/Chimaera. Especially given the colour in that video, as well as the things on the neck.
