How do people farm Warbringers? They hit so hard. I've been farming for ages with random people, only seen one mount drop and I lost the roll. :/

Congrats on the fancies. Those Triceratops look pretty cool. I like the blue coloring of some of them.

Personally, Snowy, I just found a Blood DK friend of mine (RP partner, we work together a lot making stories and stuff). Blood DKs, prot paladins, apparently any tank with the gear can solo these. I've got 2/3 and he has 3/3 because we just run around collecting them for our alt's reps.

Yeah for hard core farming I would bring a tank friend. But if you are ok with a lot of waiting, you can solo these in kun lai without much trouble.

How to solo in kun-lai
Spec for glaive toss and spirit bond
Glyph of liberation is good. So is mending and animal bond.
I recommend a spirit beast but any pet should do. Just turn off growl and keep it on passive at first.

Highly recommended: a pvp trinket to remove fears, bestial wrath and some healing pots/lock candy.
Clear all the hawks in the areas, put on aspect of the cheetah and kite him using jump shot. Once you have some aggro you can send your pet in to dps as long as growl is off. Pull him past the yack wash and kite him to the grumble bazaar. Just weave in and out of the town until one of his aoe attacks hits a guard. Then just fd and dps him down while the guards tank him.

If there are scarabs, use glaive toss and multi shot to keep their numbers low. But DO NOT AOE once you get to town or the guard will kill you and take your tag.

The race to 200 continues!
Snagged this one not too long ago. Four more argent tourney mounts to go before I am all done with them. =D
Image
I also decided to drag myself out to the isle of thunder to try and get another primal egg. I have had some horrible luck with these things. I keep getting nothing but rep raptors! (think its been 5 red two blacks by now? o.-) Anyway, I got another egg and I’m hoping for a lucky green dino this time. =)
It has taken a TON of farming to get these eggs. My friends farm for 20-30 min and get what they want and walk away but I have had some pretty nasty luck with these guys. I will be there for hours or even days and come up empty so here is to hoping that this was my last farming trip!
This last egg took 246 kills to obtain and by the time I got my egg, I checked my bag and realized I was only 1,365ish bones away from my white raptor. Seeing how I was almost out of bag space I decided to bite the bullet and just farm the bones hard core until I finally reached that magical number.
Image
Image
Image
Phew! What a horrible grind! Such a rewarding feeling though. I have only seen one on my server so far so I’m glad to have this beauty in my stables! thats 9,999 bones off my mind! :lol:

I think this brings me up to 193 mounts? Or as it 194? O.- hmmm.

Awesome tip and gratz on your lovely new mounts!!

We were trying to 2 man this as bear tank/priest duo but it took waaaaay too long! Totally trying this :D

The world: “Sylvi why have you been so quiet! We haven’t heard a peep from you in forever!”
Me: “I knnooow! D: I'm so bad. I blame math. Ever since I started gearing up for my math class I have had my play time cut in half and in all honesty math sucked the joy out of everything in life. /le sadface. :cry: I just logg in on wow and then spend the whole day tabbed out staring at numbers.
So yeah, between getting bored of the patch and just feeling too zombiefied to actually post anything…I have been quiet. Sorry! :? But I have returned with a quick update!
So I have been working on my argent tourney mounts like crazy in an attempt to hit 200 before the patch. I’m not going to bore you with all of the cheap look-alike faction mounts but know this- I have collected them all save for the brown and white hippogriff. :D I should have that one in about a week and then I am done with that place! Woohoo!
Also after getting my white raptor, my primal egg hatched and spat out yet another black raptor. It would seem that the wow gods took pity on me though (or the dinosaurs were just sick of seeing me) and I managed to get another egg in only three kills.
And that egg turned in to…
Image
Greed! My very own green raptor. Why name her Greed? She hatched shortly after I zoned in to ZG to help my friend kill the Blood Lord. This reminded me of the time I lost a certain rare drop green raptor to a former friend in this very place due to that persons…greed. (ba-dum-tish) >_> The name isn’t supposed to be bitter though since that happened years ago and I have my own raptor now. :) It is more like an amusing coincidence.
Anyway, I love her and I’m so glad that I can avoid that island now. x.X phew!
So, after going on a mount hunting spree I find out that the patch is about to hit and with my last argent mount needing 150 marks, I would not hit 200 in time. So there I was sitting at 199 until I poked around and finally decided to make a magic carpet on my tailor to bridge the gap. She was already at like 315 skill lvl so I figured it would be easy.
Yeah…turns out frostweave is expensive. I’m not sure how much I wasted trying to level her proff but it was probably about 5k. But after days of hard work and on-again-off-again farming, I had everything I needed to make my flying carpet.
And right after I make it I remember that my tailor doesn’t have epic flying. >_> Well there goes another 5k down the drain. But that is still 200! Woohoo I made it!
Image
So shortly after spending a gob of gold to hit 200 mounts I log on to my poor neglected death knight. It is at this point that I remember that death knights can by a cheap 850g 150% mount that would have easily brought me to 200! >.< /doublefacepalm. This is what I get for neglecting my dk! xD

Ah oh well. ;) Here is my new dragonhawk. Kind of underwhelmed by it to be honest. Still doesn’t have a mount special but at least I got it as soon as I logged in! ^.^
Image
Now I need to find something else to farm. :?
(P.S sorry for the big blank spots in the screenies. :roll: )

Re: Sylvi’s journal: 200 mounts just in time for the patch!

Unread post by SylviaDragon »

Hay guys! I came back to wow. I decided to try for some more mounts and so far I have been fairing quite well. I figured It was time to update.

So the first thing I do when I log on for the first time in nine months is check my mail and find my hearthsteed waiting for me. It’s fairly common but I like the wings and the running animation.
Image
I also hit timeless isle for the first time. I think the place is kind of fun! I wish there was more stuff like it. I had a blast collecting all the hidden chests, the tightrope one was my favorite. I am still trying to gather all the pets that drop off the rares. I like the fairly laid back feel to the place, although I wish I had more bag space for all the vanity items. :P
I kept seeing players asking about Huolon and after finding out that he drops a mount it should come as no surprise that my butt was glued to that spawn point on all three of my highest level characters. Three days and 62 kills later, I was ecstatic when my druid went to loot and ended up with a shiny new mount- in one of my favorite colors! :D
Image
I know this guy is a nightmare for some players. I feel really lucky and wish everyone luck on their farm. If you are fast enough on the log out you can tag him on 2-4 characters.

So huoln is mine, I need gear and I have a lot to catch up on. I have been back for three days and spent all that time camping a rare. So what do you think I do next? If you said spend the next three days making shaohao rep groups, you either know me too well or you were there.
The rep farm really isn’t that bad so long as your group is aware of what mobs they can and cannot handle. I have done far more soul crushing grinds, so this wasn’t too ad. At least there are always mobs to kill and players who want in on it. It was like a watered down version of a raid rep farm.
And now I have this lovely fellow to show for it! I really do love the heavenly serpents. A shame they didn’t ever make a spirit beast with the heavenly glow.
Image
So my rep farm left me with a fair amount of gear upgrades and lfr was good to me. I got OQ and have resumed my world boss mount farms. No luck so far (of course) but it’s nice to know I will get a kill every week. I am however, way behind in pvp gear. I left with some of the best gear conquest could buy, but now that stuff is about as useful as wearing silly putty and since most players out gear me pve wise, I will probably need some pvp gear for the bloody coin farm that is ahead of me.
While doing some random bgs to upgrade said gear I remembered just how close I was to my next hk achievement and managed to snag a screenshot just in time as I hit my 100,000th kill and got the “of the alliance” title.
Image
Image
I also returned to wow just in time to find my guild working on the cata glory achievements and managed to snag another title. I don’t wear it often though- for some reason being “Dragonslayer SylviaDragon makes me want to fight myself to the death. ;P
Image
Annnndd last of all there is this guy. I snagged him last night. I have been looking for an icc group to finish off my last three achievements since the end of cata. I found a drunk but incredibly organized group on OQ and managed to get the needed achievements for both me and a guildy. I nearly had a heart attack on the last boss since I got dc’d when I took the rez but lucky for me it still counted. I have ineed een waiting a long for this.
Image

Anndd I think that’s all for now in terms of things I recently obtained. but my list of things in progress is pretty big. If anyone has the opportunity to help, please let me know. :)

Working on:
Herald of the titans. My shammy should be geared and ready by next week! Woohoo!
Alysrazor. After hitting ilvl 539 I decided to give this boss another try. I died but not before dealing the final blow to this monstrosity of a boss. I am so excited! I can start soloing her now!
Bloody coins: 22/20000 I am mostly aiming for the mount but would like to get the title before everyone leaves the island for wod. I am on a pve server and 20 of those coins are from logging out really fast and killing my druid. >.< So if anyone can help me in anyway, I would appreciate it and return the favor if I can. I friend has been helping me gear up in arenas.
Glory of the cata raider: All I need is achive-a-tron! We messed up on the kill today. Maybe I can find my druid a group but I doubt it.
FL glory: I need like three meta achives and some heroic kills. I got do a barrel roll when I solod ^.^
Brawlers guild mount: soon….
CM SILVER! I see nothing but gold runs demanding experience. I don’t care about the xmog and would prefer a silver run, but If anyone has a gold group I can join I will do my best!
Soo garrosh kill: working on my gear. Ilvl 539 at the moment. Gotta get in before the patch!

Re: Sylvi’s journal: I'm back and its raining mounts!

So As I have prepared Ziri for herald I have also started giving her professions more love. While I was working on said task I realized that there was a flying carpet that I had not yet learned so I figured why not? I had all the mats for it.
Image
You really don’t see the flying carpets much anymore. They were popular in LK but now I just don’t see them. A shame.

Also the mount I have been saving for since cata has finally made its way into my stables. I had 350k when I came back to wow and nothing was selling anymore since it was the end of the xpack but I knew I was getting close to my goal.
Then while browsing for cheap pets on horde AH I glanced an epic spectral tiger for sale for only 400k. It was the first one I had seen in months. And at 400k it was a steal! I often see them go for 700k on my server. I scrambled and farmed until I had 400k and desperately tried to contact the owner since all my money was on my ally toon.
After two weeks of no reply’s and never catching him online, today I got a message telling me he moved the mount to the neutral AH if I still wanted it.

Fastest. Toon hop. Ever!
Image
At long last the tiger is mine! I have looked at this thing with googly eyes ever since I was 14. Nice to have one at long last. (now I can move on to obtaining much cheaper mounts.)
I wanted to get a rooster next but I think I better work on getting the mop crafted mounts since they will probably skyrocket in price like the sandstone drake did once the next xpack hits. There is much work to be done!

I was holding out for a glory run but I didn't think I would make it so I decided to give soloing Alysrazor another shot. the cloak made a big difference, as did my higher ilvl. I one shot her and gave myself a pat on the back and proceeded to loot my epic crap, only to find this pop up!
Image
I was obviously gobsmacked. I think this may be a new record for me. 8 kills total, two of them solos. I was expecting a long dreary farm- I did an eye of the tiger training montage and everything! So much work to learn how to kill her and then she decides to give me a break instead of a long farm. :)
Image
really love this one. ^.^ now if only I could get the hang of killing the lk...

Thanks! ^.^ the fight mechanics are really super easy, it just all boils down to your ilvl. I killed her for the first time as a 537 but I died about two seconds after she did. as for tips, do not do it as bm since your pet will be gone. I did it as surv since all the dots and LnL really help but I imagine MM will work if you glyph your shots so you can cast on the go. thrill of the hunt is a good ability to have at the start and murder of crows is a must.
as for the fight, pop everything at the start, grab your feathers and just unload. I think the biggest, most important part of the fight is to make sure your partial density is at least set to good or the rings are hard to see. Just grab as many rings as you can for the buff and stay close to her. if you need to you can skip the last ring that drops before she drops down, which she will do twice. you need to stay close to her or she despawns.
other than that, just don't ever touch the ground, keep rings up so you don't fall or fall behind as she flies around. after a few rings you should take steady shot out of your rotation.
once she says "these skies are mine" you have like 10 seconds to finish her off or you die. its basically a brawlers guild kind of dps race.

Congrats on the flame birdy :) :)

I also have a Herald of the Titans ele/resto Shammy available if you ever need one more. Its a greatly fun fight, though I think they may have changed a few things for using Cata/Panda gear and professions (I did it before Panda came out).

Its my personal favorite title, mainly since you don't see if too often.

your shammy is ally right? If so then I will be sure to tell my raid leader about you. we may need some dps and id rather do it with friends than a pug.

Edit: Solod al'akir today. If anyone has been thinking about soloing him but has been dragging their feet you should really give it a shot. I was kind of intimidated by the raid at first but the last boss is a total cakewalk. I had my alt tag along in a guild achievement run so I could get saved to a raid where the first three guys were dead and I extended the lockout so my main can just group up with my alt and go right to the last boss.

Obviously there was no mount this time but it was a very relaxed fight. I recommend spirit bond and a spirit beast just to keep you topped off but aside from avoiding tornados there is not too much to worry about. It may be a slight ilvl check (i'm 550) since I almost had to pop a potion right at the very end.
anyways, excited to have a new mount on farm (tried to solo lk and didn't do too well) and if anyone would like a shot at al'akir let me know and I can group you up with my (ally) alt so you can skip the first three bosses.

wall of text inc!

I am really, really happy about this one. I was working on my brawlers mount just before I left wow and had gotten to the GG engineering boss before giving up. This week I offered to run a friend through Maly 25 man and one shot the boss, which impressed her since she had ran with three 90s that couldn’t kill him. I figured my soloing skills must have improved and I certainly had better gear so I decided what the heck, may as well give brawlers another try. I did one test fight on GG then absolutely facerolled them and everything else up to hexos.
I will be honest, I can’t kill him on my own. I am a clicker and I simply can NOT navigate the maze and dps at the same time. So I had my sister mash dps keys for me. It was really, really fun playing with her. We had a blast and both felt great when we downed him.
After that I assumed the mount was a given. Nothing could be harder than hexos! I chewed through the rest of the bosses like they were nothing more than cotton candy. The only one giving me pause was the snake, which I had to go surv to kill. With one boss left in rank 9 I assumed I would grab my mount and log out early that night.
Then I met Ahoo'ru.
Ahoo'ru, spawn of Satan. I bet he was secretly a demon in disguise. I could get him as low as 80k before the enrage got me. The lights were annoying but the charge was a nightmare. I had to stay BM for hero since there was no way I could kill him otherwise but my pet often over dpsed a guardian and made him charge in the wrong direction. If I hit one too many orbs or failed to align a single charge I had to start over. there was absolute zero room for error. there wasn't even room for being sensibly competent. You had to be well above average the whole way through or you hit enrage.
Hours passed. Then days. Stacks of feasts, flasks and pots vanished and 2,500k in repairs started to pile up. I refused to leave. I saw Ahoo'ru get stuck inside of walls, angels fall through the floor and a few perfect fights ruined by tiny little mistakes like hitting counter shot a bit too soon. Worst of all I even killed him once only to have the fight bug and not count. Blizzards response? Try again.
So today I’m running out of gold, flasks and food. Most of all my patience is at an end. Some players have noticed my struggle and won’t stop trolling me about it. So I tell myself one last fight before I give up. One more try then I quit.
I dance around the orbs.
I dps all the guardians to 50% . A perfect sync with barrage.
His shield goes down. I glance at the enrage timer. That can’t be right. I have a whole minuet?
I don’t believe it. I hit ALL the buttons. Every cd, cc, haste buff and pot. I hit the buttons I never use. I hit the buttons you are afraid of; the ones your mom told you never to press. I hit those buttons so hard they vanish from my bar and show up in Asia.
At long last with just seconds before the flame wall shows up Ahoo'ru falls to the ground.
"You fought....with...valor"
I get Goosebumps as the arena goes still. I am at long last ported out to the cheers of npcs and new achievements. I stand there in shock. I did it. I won.
I run over to the mount vendor. Unsure if I unlocked it or not. No one could tell me if you had to defeat rank ten to get it.
it’s there. Waiting for me. It’s over.
Image
I am so much more attached to my core hound now. Couldn’t have done it without him. I am still in shock.
TL;DR version: Ahoo’ru is a bastard and it took me three days to kill him for the mount.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Phew.! So in other news, I am looking for a garrosh kill. No luck yet but I found a guild that wants me to raid with them. I also found an AMAZING silver cm leader on ally side. We 1-2 shot everything. I now only need 2 more achivs for the mount and she says she will reserve a spot for me in whatever group I sign up for. She is an amazing leader and if anyone on ally side is seeking a group then I HIGHLY recommend signing up for one of Lykenlova’s silver events on open raid. It is well worth the wait to get in and she does like three groups a week. We downed 6 dungeons in one night.
Also its bloody coin time! ;_; farming them makes me feel like such a scumbag. I have tried farming my alts or politely asking soon-to -be afk players for free kills only to be ignored so now I am playing dirty. My advice to other farmers is to check the beach full of turtles, the elite frogs and the non-elite shaohao rep farming locations for players. Stand on top of a mob they are fighting and kill it really fast and they may hit you by mistake.
If anyone can help me with this since I am aiming for the 2k title as well please let me know. I feel horrible killing pvers.
Oh! I am also farming lk with a guildy and have plans to work with him on ulduar after we finish herald so that’s cool too!
EDIT: the day just keeps getting better. with ahoo'ru ravaging my mount funds that had been ear marked for proffesion mounts, I thought it would take longer to get back on track. I want to try and latest get the eng mounts before the xpack incase they skyrocket in price like the sandstone drake did.
anyways, I log back on a bit later and a guildy says he has a surprise for me.
Image
a big thank you to dethkiller for the nice surprise! ^.^
