If they are SB, those wolves are really cool, but i agree we need different SB, not only cats...
like devilsaur, ravagers or even something phoenix-like. I've asked on twitter but nobody answer me lol

The ravagers models and hook wasp are fine to me, but personally i think they need to move their colour scheme to another level. All the beasts are always red-yellow-blue-black... i mean, all the recolour of the ravager done here are 100 times better than those. why they don't make a white and red ravager, for example? i don't understand that direction they have taken, hell we are in the outlands!

And when you compare them, it's pretty obvious that they are the hookwasps.....

See Wind Serpents, they got a lot of nice color combos

exactly, i was referring to the new models (starting from the direhorn) that have lost that colour-touch compared with old models like wind serpents, or old ravagers...IMHO

EDIT: i think the last models are too monochrome, i mean all blue, all red, there is no colour combo like red and white or purple and yellow etc. (exept for sporebats, as they are this way but we have for now only 3 new models).

And for the love of god can we have some NON transparant spirit beasts. (I am aware its just speculation atm but i think spirit binder pretty much nailed it with the edit)
I really miss the skoll and loque type of spirit beasts >_>

Gotta be honest. The fact that the Dragonfly uses the wasp skeleton just makes me think it should have been a tameable model in the wasp family, rather than a new - exotic family. I hope that, like with Quilen, this is just a WIP, and that there will be a new, custom skeleton for it, as it will drastically change the look of the model. It currently doesn't look like a dragonfly at all, while it still has the "dragonfly" family name.

Otherwise, I like it. The stinger-part looks a bit too fat, and not sharp enough from the pictures we've gotten, but those don't properly show it. I like the model a lot, and I guess this confirms the dragonfly-ravager connection. :P

Ooooo excellent, that’s good news :)

They certainly look like the hookwasps concept, apart from these ones being very vertical and the concept looking more horizontal
oh good! *sigh of relief* I will hold off judgment until the real model shows up then. they just look so bad on the wasp modle but if they get their own model I could get behind that.

I agree with everyone saying we could probably use some more creative color combinations. I wont get too iffy about it right now though since I'm just happy we get shiny new models. (also I love all things black so obsidian death bugs? hell yes!)
as for spirit beasts I hope we see some non-ghostly models out there. (seeing your cat watch you through its butt tends to get old.) it would be a perfect time to introduce a phoenix of some sort to the family as well since they fit the world and recently obtained new models in mop. I would also really, really love a warp stalker spirit beast. that would be my holy grail. since the elements play a heavy theme in outlands adding some elemental blessed spirits would be cool. a wind serpent with burning wings, a warp stalker with lightning that arcs across its spikes from time to time, an obsidian raptor ect, ect.

Out of curiosity, is that a guess or did a Blizzard employee tweet that somewhere? :)

I love both new models. I'm going to withhold further judgement on the hook wasps until I'm sure what the skeleton is and how it'll finally look. My concern is not the appearance but its status as a new and exotic family. It might be a cool new model and it might have nobbly bit on its head, but so far it's still a wasp to me :/ The new "ravager" seems to be visually more convincing for a new family than the hook wasp. But let's wait and see!

I'm still seeing two major differences between the dragonfly concept art, the parts of the dragonfly-modeled PvP bow, and the actual datamined beast model. Differences that (pun not intended), quite bug me.

Image

Self explanatory picture. If this is really the final Dragonfly model, I think it's pretty lame that the bow still is a lot more true to the concept art. Did they scrap that art? Then why does the bow have the correct "stinger-tail" and armor plating? It also looks a lot better, imo. Especially for a Dragonfly. It was slender and curved at the end, which looked dangerous. Now it just looks like a normal, fat wasp/silithid abdomen.

Yeah, I presume the bow was created before the "dragonfly" model diverged from the concept art.

The model is called "dragonfly" so it would have to be the right model. Unless we misunderstood JF's tweet about dragonflies becoming hook wasps.

As for the thorax, they did say the model was being considered for a mount, so the saddle-like shape may have been due to that.

I do like the old concept art with the coloured warty / coloured bits on it, like the throat of the second new chimaera model. More of a relationship with all the spore stuff.

Yeah, I asked Muffinus if it could be that this was an earlier iteration (because they are a lot further along, build-wise, than what we're seeing now.) of the model, before it was modified to be more true to the concept art, and before it had its own skeleton. Or if it is maybe a second dragonfly/hook wasp model, and a more true-to-concept model also exists. I want to hold out hope, really.

I'm fine with how it looks. Game art is never 100% same as concept art and so it does not concern me that much. I mean most of the time you draw many ideas and take the best bits and make a new one out of it.

Yeah it's extremely rare for the models to look so much like the concept art. I've actually been surprised how close they got some of them this time!

I'm really happy with the dragonfly model. I just don't (yet?) see it as a new family, but maybe it'll change more yet. As it stands, er flies, it would make an exciting new wasp, but not the most exciting of concepts for a brand new family. I just don't want to judge it too much too soon.

And, like the chimaeras, we can always hope there's not one but two new models and the other has the coloured warty bits etc. :)

Oooh, I see a green and purple hook wasp that I want. :) Especially if they really do get new skeletons later (agreed that right now they just look like spiky wasps). And that black ravager!! (they still just look like silithids to me, but I don't care what they're called because the models are awesome)

I don't have any feelings towards the spirit beast looking models. Meh, too much of the same.

Meh.. if they look that much like the current wasps, I'll pass.

Much more interested in the ravagers. (Stll think ravagers and Sillithids could be combined into one family).
