Pet skins that are still untameable

their is one look for a turtle not on your list that I was disappointed was untamable.

Their is a picture of one of these I found from cataclysm, but the one with this look I tried to tame was in Krassarang. I was so disappointed it was untamable.

If they ever introduced aquatic pets (exclusive to underwater areas) then they'd be awesome. But they have large front flippers and very degenerate hind limbs so it doesn't seem very likely to me that they'd be running after us on land. A bit like threshadons and seals

Not sure if I'll add this quilen or not...

I found a quilen statue skin elsewhere in the database. It's basically a brown stone quiilen. Almost looks like it's made from clay. Pretty cool.



The one issue is that grey mark on its neck. It's just due to the way the skin is mapped to the model. Some of the other stone quilen colours show this too, but are far less pronounced than this one. Interesting anyway!

This is now my favorite stone skin. I also like that it doesn't have glowing eyes.

I'm saddened that the icon for the Goat family pets is blatantly the old world Ram, and yet they're not in the family. Seems quite unfair to them.

When goats were introduced there wasn't actually a decent wild goat icon to use. There is now, they've just neglected to switch to using it Same with a few other families, including basilisks and dogs.

Since armoured wolves are allowed, I added the three new Kor'kron wolves from Siege of Orgrimmar:

Fire turtle skin on ancient sea turtle model. I had to add the alpha mask from the ancient sea turtle to get it to work right or all the dangly bits of hair/seaweed were hard shapes. Not sure if I'll bother adding it, though. It looks pretty nice except the border between the shell and the rim is very sharp and seems a bit off. In all other turtles it blends. Otherwise it'd make a cool rusty-brown turtle.

Interesting to see it on this model, anyway.

Updated the second and third posts for newer formatting and added Zandalari armoured devilsaurs and direhorns. Neither of these models is a mount, just armoured, and would be perfect for pets.

Jeremy added one of the fancy wolves (shadow) so there's a good chance he may add the other two in future patches. Who knows?

The fire kaliri would be pretty awesome. Failing that, the same skin but without fire is pretty good and is much like the old orange owl/kaliri.

I updated the list a bit. Nothing new and exciting added, really. Just added the red armoured clefthoof which has been removed from the game, and also added that quilen statue skin. Also (yay!) removed the things that had become available in 6.2.

The Hawkstrider was tamable in the PTR server, I dunno, could somebody confirm this?

When you're in the Cat "miiiight become a pet" section, it says only "armored" riding sabres.

Striped Dawnsaber (and for that matter, perhaps an unarmored Swift Dawnsaber, can't confirm because obviously I don't have one) doesn't have any tameable equivalents, either.

I understand it's being worked on, I just had to point that out.

Sw. Moonsaber and Sw. Frostsaber don't have tameable unarmored equivalents, either. They're not quite the right shade to be the White Saber (have some screencaps)

Thanks I do need to look at those again. I guess I can add all the armoured and riding cats in that section. I'd probably steer clear of displaying the riding skins on the non-mount model because they have weird patches on them. That's unfortunate because, as you say, they have unique colours to them.
