Woo, free mount! I did like the Horde one better, curious to see how it translates to an in-game model (if we'll just get a reskinned mechano-hog or trike).

Anyways, I can't say I'm too invested in either of the designs really, but at the end of the day it's a free mount so *shrug*. Maybe I'll use it, maybe not. :) At least it'll add to the count.

I mean it was a neat idea, I just wish they'd move away from the Orcs/Humans theme for anything faction related. I would have loved to see ideas for the other races. A vote for that would have been more interesting. Also the whole TV show thing...ehhhh. Couldn't even sit through the first episode, even though I would have liked to have watched the design process parts. The drama killed it for me.

Can't say I'm surprised, but I am a little disappointed. I wasn't a big fan of either of the bikes, but I did like the insect-like part of the Alliance one, even if it was unrelated to the faction. Now it remains to be seen if or how they will include the Alliance one. Personally I don't think it will end up in the Blizzard store, but we'll probably have to do something to earn it or buy it with gold.

Yeah, I wasn't surprised, either. The Alliance one felt just a little bit too "weird" to attract as many votes. A lot of people would have had an "er, hrmm" reaction on first seeing it, while the Horde one was played safe. Neither of them really surprised me (in a good way), but I favoured the Horde one, even though my true main is Alliance.

I have always suspected it, but they would never admit to it. I think the vote for the bike you like was good in it's own way, but very bad at the same time. It's causing nothing but drama. understandably the alliance players are ticked off, and the horde are gloating over this. I didn't like the horde bike, because it's horde and it was to plane looking. It's trike with horns for forks and some spikes. The amount of detail put into the alliance bike was amazing... I was drooling over how nice it looked.

I don't understand why they would waste all that money on the bikes, to only put one in the game. Why not just put both in.. Mostly only the horde will want the horde bike. I will delete the mail before I add it to my collection. If it's quest line, then that's even better. I wont do the quest.

While I applaud Blizzard for having a community contest, I don't applaud you guys for the manner it was done in. The bike should have gone to everyone so that everyone would vote on the best bike and no one would feel left out on their main characters and servers and the real winner would have been the best looking bike and the players. Instead we have players who feel like losers, who feel like they were once again second class citizens.

Uh I'm sure the Alliance people would be gloating over it too if they had one. I don't think it would of been any better quite frankly  people be people yo

Which is exactly the point. They basically divided the player population, and created quite abit of drama.

Yeah I don't know, the player divide certainly created drama, but when they lost the welding flux... yikes that certainly had me on the edge of my seat… the panic, the Intrigue, The Mystery, THE SUSPENSE of it all! ;)

Congratulations to the Horde that liked and will use their new bike, and better luck next time to the Alliance who missed out on theirs.

I doubt they created a lot of harmful drama. Forum posters are hardly representative of the average community. In any forum (probably even this one! nah), you're going to see a much higher proportion of people who are so involved and caught up in things that they lose perspective. At least with Petopia we just care about our pets, and it's all pretty relaxed :) But in other places, especially the official forum, you see a lot of people who act like in-game events are world shattering. I guess it IS shattering of their tiny little personal world, but if you make your life about a game and then start to forget there's another one where major stuff happens and people die, then that's bound to happen :P When someone acts like a game decision is a major issue, rather than simple a personal annoyance, I feel like posting something like "nearly 300 schoolgirls were kidnapped months ago and still haven't been found and are probably going through hell you couldn't imagine but, hey, your issue is important too :/ "

Really who cares. I think they both looked like shite but meh if the horde are happy with a catapillar trike all power to them :P ill add it to the book and probably never use it (unless i made a goblin...my what 17th alt? /flop)

NO! They can't be out of flux!!!!

Yeah, that bit got my attention primarily because it just seemed like they were really hard-up to find something to manufacture some drama over. I mean, a fabrication shop running out of flux would be like McDonalds running out of ketchup. Sure it could happen, but it's pretty uncommon. Also, in any real world scenario, it would've gone something like this:

Joe: I was going to start welding that fuel tank, but I can't find any flux
Bob: We're out of flux? Who the heck forgot to order more?
Joe: I dunno. I'm gonna run down to the supply store and get some. Need anything?
Bob: Nah. I'm good.

<<30 minutes later Joe returns with flux and welding resumes>>

The only ones of these I've ever watched have been Face-Off and Henson Creature Shop... because they're both topics directly pertinent to my interests and I spend a lot of time watching what the contestants are actually doing and pretty much totally ignoring the drama. (Also they tend to have somewhat less drama than others.)

someday I'll find someplace to host a sig that isn't stupid money-grubbing photobucket

So is it bad I recorded the whole Henson series and would fast forward past creation to the screen test to see the puppets in motion? lol
