Thanks Royi :D

Well, after a bit of a hassle concerning a failed shadow-pan attempt and the leader moving events around, I finally managed to get my last two silver cm achievements.
Image
I almost got the Ashen phoenix but at the last second the Crimson won my heart. I really love this mount and its certainly a rewarding feeling to have it in my stables now. Its got a really pretty sound and I love the details on the feathers. (And best of all it has feet!) Can't wait to have all four awarded to all my characters. this is one of my favorite flying mounts for sure. ^.^
Image
I couldn't have done it without Lykenlova. she got me six of my nine achievements and most runs were very smooth all things considered. If you manage to get into one of her groups she guarantees you a spot in the next one you sign up for. For any ally out there I highly recommend you look for Lyken's silver cms on open raid. (she isint doing any for the next few weeks however since she is moving.)

To those thinking of or trying to get silvers done for the mount, these are the things I learned.
1. your Ilvl will NOT matter. its not a hindrance or an excuse. if you really want to min/max for cms then just go find the gear with the most gem slots in it. aside from that there is nothing you can do since all your gear will be lowered to a certain level during the run.
2. you do NOT need to repair if you die. your armor will not take damage. you DO need to have flasks, pots, invis pots (lesser invis should be ok if you have speed buffs) and buff food. buffs should have 30+ min left before an attempt. Also bring the tomes needed to swap out talents on the go if need be.
3 cc and interrupts are a must. always spec and glyph for the max amount of cc. if you are not using your cc, you are wiping the group. (if you are a hunter this means using the frost arrow.)
4. use some kind of voice chat.
5. do not be intimidated by failure. everyone in the group caused some really hairy wipes at one point or the other. its a learning process and its normal to have to restart fairly often. especially if you are after gold.
6 DO NOT RELEACE OR USE YOUR POTS WITHOUT PERMISSION! this one can cost you the medal. if you release after death your body will disappear and you will be forced to run back. wait for the order to run back since sometimes you can pull a rabbit out of your hat. a hunter that survive with a brez (guild mass rez is disabled) a shammy with reincarnate or maybe just a druid that can run back faster than you and stealth past mobs can save what looks like a losing run. pots are also something you need to pay attention to since you can hold the whole group up by using say, a vermin's bite on the second boss in shadow pan just before you need to invis past trash. if you don't have a personal stealth the group will have to wait on you.
7. since there are a lot of hunters out there I would have to recommend BM spec if you can play it. hero is mandatory for all runs and if you can supply it, you will be chosen over those who can not supply it. quillen is another important pet to have as bm. Regardless of your spec, ask the leader what buff pets to bring. if you don't have the pet, go tame it.
8. bosses are more of a checkpoint than a challenge. they mark your progress but they are all fairly easy. the thing you have to worry about is trash. a single pack will put you through a meat grinder if you are not on top of it and don't rotate your cds right.
9.just get out and do it! time is ticking and the only time you can do it is right now. don't be intimidated, everyone starts somewhere. give it a go and don't give up!

thanks guys. best of luck to those still hunting it. I am not apposed to running them again with my nelf hunter in order to help out other petopians. I know its kind of a daunting task.

In other news, thanks to Wain and Lorina, I got into the aman'thil guild, Destruction, and leveld up to 85 in the blink of an eye. my fellow petopians made the grind quite enjoyable. we all enjoyed chatting with one another and I will continue to level this toon to 90 without a doubt. I may even do a bit of raiding on her.
Gaining the gold needed for both the guild pet and mount was a breeze. ^.^
Really like being on a server during the am hours. free ore and rares all the time. (so if you are hunting a rare let me know! although I am still only 85 atm.)

*the room darkens* of course... this means there are only two mounts left that I must have before wod. the wolf will join me soon. but the ashen mushan... he is tricky. not to mention I am aiming for the title, which requires TWO THOUSAND coins. Needless to say, as things are now this task will be impossible. on a low pop pve realm I average maybe 4 coins an hour and I have to do some pretty nasty things in order to get these poor guys to flag. I do not enjoy that.
so now I must request the aid of my fellow petopians one last time. I am in dire need of a pvp realm to farm on. my only requirement is that you be ally. I could use as much help with this as I can get. the more battle tag groups I can switch between, the better. I would be eternally grateful if I could farm someone's pvp realm during their non-raiding hours. I know most petopians are either playing horde or living on a pve server but if anyone out there could lend me a hand I would be grateful. I doubt this will be possible once the isle is no longer current content. :(

Hey Slyvi -

saw this on MMO - thought you would benefit from the random mount button (not needing an addon)

Also you can select your fav's to have them choose from

Oh that's nice! Glad they are adding filters now- at last. I have been using litemount to manage my mounts but sometimes its a bit buggy. I look forward to testing this out.

Another big milestone was reached last night. As some of you may know I came back to wow because I caught wind of the changes to cm silver mounts and also learned of the war wolf that would be removed in the wod patch. Despite being in a casual guild and not having done more than one or two of the earlier mop bosses, I was determined to get that wolf.
So as soon as I got back I started working on gear. I downloaded Oq and started using open raid. It was in OQ that thanks to what was one part luck one part skill that I met Ryuk's guild. I was impressed by the friendliness and coordination of his guild during our flex run and despite still having rather "meh" gear at the time I still somehow managed to impress him and his group. He invited me to add him to b.tag in case he needed an extra member for flex.
A week later I get another flex invite. I wasn't feeling too enthusiastic about it since i had been running raids all day but I got the feeling they were judging me so I agreed to go and we had another smooth run. shortly afterwards Ryuk invited me to fill a dps slot in his weekly regular soo progression raids that had just opened up! :D
Two weeks later we reach Thok, who they had been stuck on. At this point we have all had some pretty hardcore upgrades. I started out at about ilvl 547 and by the time we reached thok I was 562. After they recruited Nynaeve, a kickass druid who had some heroic kills under her belt, we proceeded to one shot thok after opening only one cage and then managed to down siegecrafter even though I was new on belts and one of the tanks struggeled with the adds at first. Paragons was a joke.
And then we realized all that was left was Garrosh. It was kind of late but we all just kind of shrugged and said "Well, may as well try." I was really impressed. After trying to kill garry some 40+ times with pugs I was gobsmacked when we managed to get hm down to about 6% on our first try. A few fumbles later and a couple tweaks to our plan and....
Image
We got him! It was great. A big thank you to Ryuk, Nynaeve and the rest of my group for working together so well and getting this sucker down! It was so cool to hear the collective gasps and shouts over vent when he went down. I had a blast and cant wait to do more next week. So glad to have this one out of the way. Now my ally can ride wolves too!

seriously though - i think i may have mentioned this a year or two ago - you should minimize you're UI - especially on that one photo of you getting your panda mount - it takes up 90% of the screen with your bags open :) :) :)

I'm just kidding with you - congrats on finally getting your wolfie!

I still don't know how you manage with those big buttons on the UI ~ (i havent used the blizzard UI in probably 4 years) ~ then again ADD works better with Bartender (so you can spread your buttons all over the place)

Too bad about he who shall not be named, what a wank

There's the quote :)

lol xD i have shrank my ui since then but it is still kind of big. I'm a clicker and a really messy one at that. >.< as things are now I often end up overshooting the buttons and clicking the wrong spell. :?

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh! i cant believe I didn't post this! this happened last Tuesday but my friend got me skyrim and I just forgot the world existed! >.<
I struck a deal with a guildy a while back and we now have lots of raid bosses on farm. ultrax, lk, deathwing and as soon as a fellow mage gets the last few embers for her staff we will be farming rag. we will be doing yogg soon as well.
So guess what decided to drop on week three of the farm?
Image
I won the roll with a solid 92. i think his jump animation looks a bit derpy and the cloth looks super glued onto him but i still love him. I love the sounds he makes and i go nuts over the leathery sound of his wings. I asked to do the run early on account of having a good feeling and i'm glad it paid off. This is one of those mounts you still dont see very often and is still kind of seen as unobtainial to a lot of players so i'm surprised at how lucky I got on this one.
Image
I am really glad i got this guy since out of all the mounts we are farming this is my favorite. guildy will get whatever mount drops next to maintain fairness but he already has the b-12 mount so if i luck out on that its a freebe.

In other news I should be getting my ashen mushan in the next few hours thanks to the buff. I cant wait forthat nightmare to end!
