That's your prerogative and all. However, it's less that they changed them, but more that they changed them and did a pretty bad job of it in the interest of finishing quickly. The female troll would be fine... if she wasn't spinally-fused, didn't have atrocious melee animations, and was actually capable of blinking. There's fewer axes of mobility in the female troll model than in Pandaren -belts-.

someday I'll find someplace to host a sig that isn't stupid money-grubbing photobucket

*Nodnod* That's my main issue with female trolls, too. I can deal with the fact that they look like a completely different subspecies of troll. But the lack of mobility really gets me- especially when compared to male trolls. Male trolls are slinky as heck and move all over the place in combat, crouching and stepping back and bouncing back and forth- and then the females just kind of... rotate at the hips a bit. I'd love to see the female troll animations buffed up so they can look like the forest natives they are, and not like they swallowed a bomb and they're afraid any movement might make it go off.

wasn't a fan of the alpha female tauren, but that was mostly due to the faces.

the alpha female troll? yes please! as soon as possible! female trolls should look like they are trolls, not blue humans with less toes.

Well I'm sure for one thing and that the updated will give them better animations. Well I hope anyway as I have not seen any animations for any of the new ones XD

I've seen some anims for the gnome, dwarf, and male orc... not sure if any of the others are done yet.

Anyway, they couldn't make them worse. @_@ (I shouldn't say that, haha). Still, they did a good job of un-stiffening the female dwarf, so hopefully they should be good. I do like the girltroll casting anim; it seems very exotic (and is why my femtroll is a warlock...) I had a warrior for about 5 levels before just going ARRARGH and deleting her.

I really loved trolls but the female animations eventually made me fall out of love with them. Once you realize they cant blink you just can't unsee all the little problems they have. I haven't touched my troll hunter/shammy in years. I used to have a feral druid too but even though cat form hid most of the problems I got her to 70 only to end up deleting her. I think that at this point thy can only improve on them

Yep, I could deal with the fact that they're completely upright and seem way different than their male counterparts; however, I have never been able to stick with a troll female because of the run. Gah, it just looks like she's totally uncomfortable. It just doesn't look or feel natural at all. :(

So yeah, my gripe isn't so much that they keep changing stuff, it's that they keep changing it last-minute and give us something that generally looks and feels rushed. If they want to change it, fine, but put some time into it! That's all I meant. :)

Yeah, I'm really pleased by the variety in faces of the undead females, from what we can see!

I hope there's another Artcraft soon. :)

I just saw this now and laughed to the point of tears. I think the fact that my brain read it in the voice of the priest from the Princess Bride added to the hilarity. :D

See, and just now I am thinking of that scene in Spaceballs when Yogurt is showing Lonestar all the movie merchandise and pulls the string on the back of the doll to make it talk. I swear I can hear that doll's voice say this very line now!

Before this, I was reading it as Gary Oldman's voice from Bram Stoker's Dracula.

This latest blue quote seems to be quite relevant to the discussion here:

Are we expected to be happy with these faces? Of course you can see they aren't identical, but is this really their idea of being "true to the original model" or claiming this isn't "same face" syndrome?
Posted by Bashiok
No, not at all. But I don't think we've said anywhere the face options currently present in Alpha are the intended final result of the updated character models. We'll probably do an Artcraft piece on facial options sometime soon, as it's actually a somewhat complex and interesting piece on how the original art was created, and the difficulties of translating that to higher resolution models and animations.

Thank you! I'll put that up on the first page. :3 I always figured they stuck with one face just to speed things along and would worry about the faces once the actual models were more complete.

even if they will do "x" different facial traits, the result - in my opinion - will be different (better of course) from the current expressions, so i wonder: will they give us , when they will realease the new models, a free "recustomization of our characters"? at least for facial traits ? because otherwise would be not totally cool have to pay to recustomize our character because they gave us a different face that we did not chose, right?
