Re: Worm Lovers.
There is a worm in Dragonblight (Northrend/Wotlk) named "Jormungar Tunneler" that shares the same model as Amber Parasite's from the Dread Wastes, but has a different color. It is not tame-able at this time but hopefully will be in the future.
'
I've been asking the Dev's on Twitter about making them tame-able. "Muffinus" seems to be the guy to ask when it comes to pets and tame-able's.

And lets not forget Gyreworm's!

Re: Worm Lovers.
When I started out, I picked up the yellow 'rare' worm. I don't even remember what I named him; he was my go-to worm for a very long time. I tried out a Jorm, but it just didn't work for me.
... until the color-changes.
When I saw that black worm, I knew I had to have one. And thus swapped out my old yellow worm for my black, Ebonlocke. And while he's not one of the pets I have with me 24/7, I *do* use him a heck of a lot. And I *do* absolutely adore him, and am very closely bonded with him. Even if it's a really weird bond, considering how often he gets released to pick up another pet, and after I've stabled it, I run back and pick him up yet again. It's become a tradition.

I Used one Sal back during wrath when burrowing didn't drop aggro. It was awsome round up a bunch of mobs get aggro and then just aoe them to death. Blizz had to go and change it. I also discovered I prefer to go Suv then BM when it comes to most thing.

Hey...All these worms but where's that derpyhead worm Slapperfish keeps around?
Re: Worm Lovers.
Which race looks best and lore-wise would fit best with a worm pet?
I'm guessing a caterpillar would suit a Pandaren. An undead might grow affinity to worm too I guess. Maybe a Dark Iron dwarf hunter would use worms to help her mine buried minerals?

Re: Worm Lovers.
I can see the maggots being pretty awesome-looking with the Undead, if they end up making them tameable (especially that black and blue, or the white, maggot). The more lanky, serpent-like worms or Jormungar would fit the dwarves, possibly, and I agree with the caterpillars suiting Pandaren. They're both so rolie-polie.
