Bloody coins update.

Unread post by SylviaDragon »

So as some of you may know, the censer of agony was given a rather nasty nerf last week. its cooldown was increased to one hour, up from 10 min. The pve community was happy but the mount farmers were not. So after listening to player feedback blizz just hotfixed the fire watchers oath to now work world wide and have a 100% chance to drop coins! This only works on the opposing faction (or on flagged players if you have both the oath and the censer working but then the coins have a 10min cd) the oath has NO COIN COOLDOWN! this means that if you like pvp you can now farm battle grounds to your hearts content. I do think its still awarded only on killing blows dealt to 90s however so unless someone can prove otherwise healers still get the short end of the stick.

EDIT: I forgot to mention that the fire watchers oath now cost 100 TIMELESS COINS! so you shouldn't really even need the censer at all anymore. you can just go buy an oath and be on your way. :)

I for one am very happy with this change since farming the isle was soul crushing. I hated ganking helpless lowbies, i hated betraying my own faction and i hated the angry mobs that would hunt me down even if i was only killing after gaining permission to do so. I'm sure those of you who pve and are working to gear low level toons are just as happy to hear this news. it will take time for the news to spread and there will always be a few hard core jerks sneaking around but this should be a big step in the right direction for a peaceful farm for you guys and a less stressful farm for mount collectors.
this also means that after wod you don't have to worry about about the mount becoming unobtainable because the isle is abandoned.

IMPORTANT EDIT! (I forgot that someone with a US server can not see someone from an ocean server so you guys will have to help each other out on that one. Maye once my aman'thul alt hits 90 i can be of more help over there :) )

DOUBLE IMPORTANT EDIT: the oath has been hotfixed one again. despite it being a very obvious method of farming used for farming halaa, it would seem that blizz did not intended for the oath to work on grave yard farming and have made it no longer possible to get coins from someone with rez sickness. They may ban players attempting to use this farming method so choose your farming strategy responsibly.

Oh, that's exciting news! I'd been attempting the BG farm when they'd first fixed the Fire-Watcher's Oath, and it was highly inefficient. (Four BGs, 1 coin, eesh!) I'd love to swap off and trade punching-bag status. I have both Horde and Alliance alts, but am interested in collecting coins on my Hordie.

While I can't always guarantee I'll be around (raid nights, etc.), folks can always poke me on my battletag, Lourain#1721. Recently I've also been lurking at Halaa on the RP-server-cluster on the very small off-chance for some world PVP and Halaa tokens -- killin' two birds with one bloody stone. :)

Oooh, this is exciting!

I remember back in the day I farmed Halaa tokens with a forum member here (I think it might have been Rhyela?). We just swapped kills and got our mounts in no time. I'd love to do that for the Mushan mount. I have Horde characters on Nesingwary and Emerald Dream if there's an Alliance that wants to sets something up. :3

hm, my reply didn't go through last time.

*ahem* so long as you can find a way to bring me to your server I would love to help everyone out! ^.^ I am also not opposed to helping with halaa. I am usually pretty busy on Tuesday reset and wed/sat nights are when my night owl raiding group gets going but other than that I am usually available. If you send me a friend request please let me know who you are and what you want as my friends list is kind of messy. My b.tag has been added to my first post.

And after I had gotten all the island goodies I needed to farm the opposition (I only killed my own faction with permission). I don't feel too bad, I would typically wait for them to finish their rights and sometimes even help them. At least the last 200 coins won't take long in IoC now.

If anyone is still doing the island for fun, remember to get a stack of helmets from the crabs, some feathers from the cranes, the meteor from Ember, a banish rock from Spelurk, and some black ash from altars on Ordon plateau (easily lootable with the crab helmet).

I just realized I have a guildy with a horde alt he never uses. I'm going to talk to him about letting us use his alt to pull you guys over to my server so you can farm me. You should stay on my server even when he is offline so it should all work out for everyone.

I also forgot to add the changes to the cost of buying an Oath so I have updated my first post.

EDIT: grats to veph on her new mount! ^.^ everything went just fine. Lourain I didn't see a message from you so I didn't notice you had accepted my friend invite. I can probably get you your coins tomorrow if you are free.

I might have to hitch you up for some farming sometime. Uh how many coins does it take for the mount?

Random question, when trading PVP kills with this, each time you die/rez, does the rez timer get longer and longer as per normal deaths?

I can't remember how many deaths you can have before its starts giving you a timer on rezing, and then what the rez timer maxes out at. (Dose it max out? or get infinitely longer?)

We just sat on the graveyards and used the Spirit Healer. :) Gives rez sickness, but in this case that doesn't matter. Without her there is a timer, yes, but if you keep telling her to rez you it's instant.

Oh awesome so you can just go anywhere and kill each other for coins then? Hmm might have to work something out with the other half over this weeks AL/R&R :D Would take a fair while with two ppl just killing each other you think?

SB & Wain: my horde is on Aman'thul perhaps we can get something started tonight? (if we're on at the same time)

it cost 500 coins for the mount, 100 for the pet. So far the numbers seem pretty solid and everyone is getting their mounts in about 50-55 min. maybe an hour if your gear is not too great.
I have a new alt that i am letting people farm since he has room for all his gear in the bank so i can just keep spirit rezzing him. it also helps speed thing up since rez sickness means you can two shot them. saves a bit of time. I have nothing going on tomorrow so i can try and help as many players as I can. I'm 828/2,000 on my title so I have lots of work to do as well.

Yes you can farm anyone of the opposing faction in any location in the game. I prefer the vale simply because the horde and ally graveyards are right next to each other and you can just tell your friend to meet up outside of soo.

Well I should be free this weekend if anyone wants to do this. I've got both a ally and horde 90s.
