All mounts viewable from the mount menu?
I noticed that after I went on my tauren and went back to my human hunter that my horde mounts that I collected are showing up on my alliance character too, but with a red icon that says I cant use them. I'm not sure if it's a bug or intended, but if it is normal then it would explain why Blizzard people have posted that we would have the horde chopper in our mount list but not be able to use it.
It would also mean that if someone who plays both factions and have just over 100 mounts on each side that it would jump up to over 200 and that person would receive the achievement mounts from 150 and 200 mounts. It would make collecting mounts a bit easier, but they would really need to add more than just one or two new mount achievements to make it worth it now.

Yeah, I was discussing that with SB last night. From a Warcraft Mounts perspective, we're hoping it means that we'll only have to query one toon on the Armory to get the mounts for the entire account. Currently you need to query a Horde and an Alliance separately, then also any additional characters that have special class mounts, single-player mounts, etc. It's all a pain. In contrast, Warcraft Pets just has to query one of your characters.

This is not what it means. The mount total only counts mounts the character could ever actually use. For example, the Profession restricted mounts (Carpets, Flying Machines) do count because a character could potentially learn tailoring or engineering, but an Alliance PvP mount would not count for a Horde character because that character will not become Alliance.Shinryu Masaki wrote:It would also mean that if someone who plays both factions and have just over 100 mounts on each side that it would jump up to over 200 and that person would receive the achievement mounts from 150 and 200 mounts. Essentially, when you faction transfer, you get a copy of your old character with the faction and/or race variables changed and the old version is deleted. You murderer.
But yeah, they'll only count so far as being "unlocked" on your account but not count for achievements or mount total on the opposing faction.

Except that right now the panel says that I have over 400 mounts, so they are changing it from how it currently works on live.Arcanimus wrote:But yeah, they'll only count so far as being "unlocked" on your account but not count for achievements or mount total on the opposing faction.

I wouldn't put much weight into the number of mounts it shows you having on the beta server. In beta, one appears to have access to all mounts whether they've gotten them or not. I've been rocking out on my baby Juggernaut mount that I'll probably never see in 'real life' WoW.

Is that for pre-mades? Cause none of my transfered characters have access to mounts I never owned before.

I think it's for everyone; my hunter had access to the two spectral tigers and the big love rocket and I don't THINK I've created any premades (until Mekkatorque went up last night, anyway). That said, it's not all mounts—I still only have the crimson pandaren phoenix from challenge modes, and don't have the other three yet. And I mean, you could always just make a premade and then log into it and bam, your transfers'll have access too, haha.

Interesting! Guess it's time to go make a pre-made then!

Re: All mounts viewable from the mount menu?
This new mount spell book allowed us to skim through and find some unused mounts that we hadn't been aware of before. To the WCM unimplemented mounts list we just added:
- Great Elite Elekk (we were aware of the unused colour, but didn't know there was an unavailable mount spell & item that used it)
- Brewfest Kodo (same skin as the in-game swift one, but on a base model... could well have been intended as a counterpart to the retired Brewfest Ram)
- Black Dragonhawk Mount (perhaps this was only ever intended as a spell for the mounts on Quel'Danas, not sure)
- Nether Drake (unlike other nether drakes this one has an electric pattern on the belly. There are actually more skins that have this but they don't look quite finished)
