Need advice on how to start mount collecting again....

Hey guys!

After my break ended I've been playing around on my alts and on my main but one thing I'm missing in doing is mount collecting! I looked at my achieves and I'm missing a lot of mounts and I've no clue on how to jump back "into the saddle" as they might say. I know there are a lot of mounts in the game but I don't know EXACTLY which ones I'm missing and that urge to get mounts before the new expansion is taking hold. I've started to farm Onyxia and EoE 10 for the Onyxian drake and the Blue drake, but are there maybe some that are easier to get now? I'm not sure if anyone has asked this before but much advice would be greatly appreciated!

Let's see.. I'll list the ones I farm/farmed!

Swift Razzashi Raptor: Heroic Zul'gurub, Bloodlord Mandokir
Swift Zulian Panther: Heroic Zul'gurub, High Priestess Kalinara

^Both easily solo'd, but be warned that Mandokir takes knowledge of his mechanics + good timing, if you're playing a hunter!

Ashes of Al'ar: Tempest Keep, Kael'thalas
Amani Battle Bear: Heroic Zul'Aman, speed run. I don't think it can be solo'd, but with help you can duo it!
Vitreous Stone Drake: Heroic or Normal Stonecore, Slabhide
Drake of the North Wind: Heroic or Normal Vortex Pinnacle, Altarius
Black Drake: 10M Obsidian Sanctum, with all twilight drakes alive. I believe this can be solo'd.
Primal Raptors: Primal Egg drops, from either the dinos on Isle of Giants or from the failbag from Throne of Thunder LFR bosses.

I highly suggest looking into Openraid or forming your own raids for the Firelands achievement mount, as it only takes two runs of Firelands to get! You can also fairly easily duo Uld10 for the Rustbound Proto, and you don't need a huge group to get the ICC10 meta mount, either.

Some people are able to solo Alysrazor in Firelands 10 for her Flametalon mount- this takes a lot of gear, though! I have not yet managed this, but with a well geared friend it can be duo'd.

Edit- D'oh, forgot! You can also get the Grand War Mammoth from VoA10.

Also you can visit your Armory page and go to the Mounts tab, it'll tell you which ones you have and which ones you don't!

i would pay attention to the mounts that will be gone/harder to get in the next xpack. Also go see what cata/lk/bc raids you can solo now. there are also lots of 5mans to look into.

go take a look at your armory and see what you have and what you are missing and just pick a few of your favorites to work on. once you get say, one of the five you are farming, go pick another mount to fill the farming gap.

you got both faction - horde,alliance mounts?
all the : Black war mounts ^ same for that - both side pvp ones.
Nagrand's Talbuks for both faction and Halaa.
Proffession - tailor,engi,jc,archaeology
Dungeons/Quest/rare spawns like timelost, phosphorescent stone
PvP, Arena
TCG
Blizzstore - Raf mounts
World events
Guild mounts - Scorpid/Lion, cloudserp and that purple version of ashes

Myself i have been joining groups on alts to get lockouts for Jogg saron 25man no lights for the Mimirons head (That i got after 5 runs xD) Lich king 25man hc. Theese bosses might need to be 2 manned as i do. Also got Al'akir lockout for the south wind drake, Ragnaros lockout for the pureblood firehawk and at last Ultraxion for the Experiment b12, but this boss is a hard egg to crack! Just wanted to say that theese bosses u can do with a friend or two
