Honestly, I kind of prefer for the wolf to be rare. In beta right now, almost every hunter has at least tamed the void wolf, if they did the quests in Tanaan. I think if the wolf was rarer, maybe not as rare as Loque and similar, but still on a decent spawn timer... they'd be much cooler to see around.

With a design like that they shouldn't be as common as your everyday wolf, imo. Especially if its fiery counterpart ends up being harder to get.

Edit:

Also, I found these guys in Talador. I saw the Ji-kun model earlier when using Eagle eye, but didn't come across these till this build.

Wouldn't it be amazing if they were tamable? :( Unlikely but thought I'd share them.

I wonder if that is going to be a new raptor model.

You mean that it is a PH currently? If so, I guess what is also a possibility is that these were raptors before they became.. well.. raptors.

Added the new kaliri (just one colour so far) and also all the Thunder Isle Birds (4 flying and one flightless) since they've been spotted around Draenor. Maybe this time they'll be tameable :)

The Thunder isle birds I posted above didn't have the PH label though like I've seen on other npcs around. Of course they still could be changed, and I wouldn't be surprised if they were... but they could be permanent. Their mama is also nearbly, Teroclaw.. a big bird using Ji'kuns model.

I sure hope though these guys become tamable, they're so cool and could easily be classed as Raptors.

I wouldn't mind a totally new raptor model one day either though.. :D

Wait! We might not be able to tame a void wolf straight away?! But...but...*whispers* my baby. I don't mind it being a rare, but if it's got a long spawn timer I might go have a little cry. Those void wolves are gorgeous! I know it'd be odd to see everyone with a shiny wolf model, but if loads of people use it then maybe the hype of it will die down, thus meaning not everyone and their brothers pet dog will have one.

Those lil chicks are adorable. Hard to see completely due to the lighting, but if they are tameable I might try one of these out :)

Yea sorry about that ^^; they're in the shade of a tree, plus it's difficult to get a good position when using eagle eye, but I believe Wain has a WMV image up on the first page, too.

Same model as the Raven lord, the grounded one. Very cute and I'd most likely tame one.

Since this is a 60 page thread, so instead of pouring through each post to see if any of these were mentioned, I will update these based on whats on the OP.

In Mogu'Shan Vaults, the Stone Guard quillen are all tameable. I was able to sneak in and tame them to confirm. They are still the adorned versions, so same as Portent. I can provide screenshots for proof if no one believes me :P

Beast of Jade in the Greenstone scenario still untameable, even when solo queued.

Wulon's solid green quillen adds are still tameable but still controlled. Wulon himself still turns gray when tamed. I don't remember the trick tame that retains buffs or if it still works anymore so couldn't try that.

Tested various kunchong, mushan, stag and yak just to see. Still no dice. The cloud serpents on Shan'ze Dao still have a diet and are still untameable.

Edit: Did some Eagle Eyeing in Talador for the beast list thread and found this beauty, man I hope it can be tamed: LINK

Alright, so I went and tamed 3 pets on live that I know some people are wondering how they'll be in WoD if changes actually happens to them. So far it seems like they're retaining their original models.

I also noticed that when the Shale Spider cast Embrace of the Shale Spider that it spreads an halo of some sort of pixie dust and then you get a visual effect on yourself that lasts a few seconds when you gain the buff. I haven't tested all the pet buffs to see if they got something similar, only the Spirit Beast Blessing, which only applied the same visual effect that Druids have when in Moonking form using the Astral Form glyph, and the effect is only displayed on the pet for a few seconds, nothing on the Hunter itself unfortunately.

Word on Twitter is that they are planning on leaving one of the wolves tameable. They're just trying to decide how to put it in. Or at last check they were.
Oh good! I'm impartial if they make it rare or not. Give it the longest spawn timer in the world and you'll still have everyone and their mother camping it--except there will be brutal competition. (See ANY spirit beast ever. Super common, and people become royal jerkfaces when those SBs get involved.)

So I mean, having it a common mob wandering around would be nice. They're already gonna be really common--it's a cool model, rare spawn or not everyone is gonna want it. Might as well prevent the whole grief fest before it ever happens.

Wasn't expecting that model to become birds of prey, but this is looking good for tamable status! (Actually, they ARE birds, just landbound ones...)

I knew tweeting him three times about this would pay off.
