Question:
Do we know which ones of these spawn when the server goes up, and which ones spawn [their spawntime] after server goes up?
I'm looking for Rak'Shiri at the moment, but it's still stuff I wanna know for future sleepless nights of camping. :)

well i can say this from my exp most of the timers rest ofc when severs do
now looking back at 'Arcturis: 10-12 hours'
i was sever first with him i got him 5 imns after the sever went up (flying and doing addons ftw -.-')
tbh i dont think there would be a set beast to spawn more like a random one
say first reset takk, kng mosh, dishu were up
secound reset dart, mazzranache, ravage were up

i doubt they would have the same ones up each reset as it would make finding them easy and blizz does want to make them 'rare' so a random id roll might be done

i still belive you have to kill a rare to see a rare in northenland ive never came across two rares in the same zone then again thats just mine and a few others notes

and for arcie since i heard he only spawns twice a day 12 hour seems suiting for him :)

Thanks so much. I was beginning to think that I had the worst luck ever. LOL. I know that the last person to answer me on when he was seen last is 3 or 4 days ago now. LOL UGH. But that does not account for the people that play after I log so there is a huge amount of time that I am missing as far as sightings. Again thanks so much. :o

Hey, I would just like to point out my own experiences with the Strider Clutchmother. I was running through Darkshore on my hunter and decided to hunt for her. I found her, tamed her, flew to Winterspring, stabled her, flew back.

I pressed my macro just to humour myself, and she was up again. Less than 10 minutes in between. So for some reason 1.5-2.5 hours doesn't seem accurate to me heh.
Rejoined the hunt after a lengthy break... feels good!

i started taming my Arcturis at 9 pm server time on twisting nether...i did NOT move form his spot at all..no bg's no qeues...i sat there with my hopes high and my npc scan on...and at 6:42 AM server time he spawned...only 1 ally messed with me but i asked him nicly to leave me alone or i would get my pvp geared rogue out there...he left....i have more pacence than anyone can possibly know...i sat there for nearly 10 hours straight waiting..and i acually played the "Test sound" to see what it would sound like...cause i was about to give up at 7...and as soon as i hit my button...there he was...

I've always heard that Skoll has closer to a 12-hour respawn timer. It may be pretty close to that, as I saw him once at something like 3 in the morning my time while having a bout of amnesia, noted the time (though I left him alive...I didn't want him on Tahlian as my Tauren Oakleigh already has him and I couldn't bear to kill a spirit beast) and left a message with that time adjusted to the server for a friend on Facebook that was looking for him. She went back 12 hours later from the time I sent her when she was awake and found him waiting for her.

Might I also suggest you put an asterisk by each pet that requires being a 51-point specced beast master to tame (in other words, exotic) and noting at the bottom or top of the post that that's what it means? It might be convenient just to have that reminder so someone doesn't camp Skoll or Loque only to realize when they try to tame that they're a Marksman or something. :D

Tahlian: Good idea, will do!

I think Mazz's respawn timer is longer than 5 minutes (at least 20, for him) but I'll change Timber and the Clutchmother's.

Make of this what you will in concerns of timers. On Ysera, we've been marking beasts with timers and I've been doing 'rare spawn math' in order to pinpoint the times in which they'll respawn. (Channel Petopians ) We have been fortunate that there was NO server restart this week, so it enabled a full 2 weeks of observations on these rare spawns. Server time (Tuesday) resets the respawn timers.

This is NOT saying they do not have a timer in between, but most reliably, without camping, what and when you can expect to see them again. The rares listed below have been seen more than 3 times (often, more if on the daily charge) this past week in order to get this reading, consistently day to day:

Terror Spinner:
23.5 - 24 hours.

Gondria:
23.5 - 24 hours.
(I've gotten roughly 8 of these kitties found and tamed for folks these past week)

Vigdis the War Maiden
23.5-24 hours

Skoll:
23.5-24 hrs.
NOTE: there was an off time where we did find him at a 12 point timer, BUT we can predictably find him SPAWNING at the 23.5-24 hour with no camping... the 12 hour mark seems 'iffy'.

Thought I'd pass on the observations in what we've found in rare spawn tracking. Again, not saying they don't have spawners that are more along the lines of 8-12 hours, but I try and find patterns in which require little to no camping. The methods work for me and folks on the Petopians channel on Ysera. They may work for you too. :)

If anyone on Ysera wants any of the rare spawns listed above, let me know and I'll help you locate their no-camping timer.

(EDIT)
I removed Arcturis... He just broke his own spawn pattern and I've no clue why. After 8 days of watching him spawn every other day at the same time... he broke it and spawned in the morning randomly, on the day he was due to spawn later on in the evening.

Color me bleeding confused.

Phyra.. you need to switch servers and come to mine! lol. Wow it makes you wonder what is up with all these spawn timers. Camped yesterday for 14 hours I believe for King Krush and never saw him once. The I left to do ICC10 for a few hours so I don't know if he spawned then. I must say this guy is enjoying hiding from me.

I saw Loque spawn yesterday at 7:17am he was up. Didnt see any other rare since.

Actually, I get on my priest and hold the spirit beast so folks can tame'em. We've recruited quite a few folks (hunters and non hunters) alike on the Petopians channel.

Up to my 22nd find of Gondria. O_o;

If helpful, Loque'nahak appears (like King Krush, but not Aotona. Never found Aotona more than once in a row so cannot confirm its timer) around 8 to 8.5 hours after it was last tamed/killed/despawned. At least that's the general math.

Example.. When looking for King Krush.. he was killed from under me. Took that time and then marked out the times for potential spawn times every 8.5 hours.

I predicted, two days later, a 10:30 spawn. He spawned at 10:15. :)

Hope that helps some!

I don't meant to offend anyone here, but I think predicting when a rare is going to spawn sort of takes the fun out of the rare spawn-camping experience. I mean, it's great that people have gotten rare pets out of it, but I personally like to do the camping myself. I like the searching and discovering that pet I've been looking for. It just feels kind of like cheapening the experience by knowing when it's going to be there (even if it's not exact, sounds like they're predicted within just a few minutes). Maybe I'm weird, but I just like that feeling of camping and discovery. I camped for about three days before getting Krush, and I wouldn't have had it any other way. It feels like more of an accomplishment when I know I put time into looking for him (plus the tame itself was a huge challenge). Not just..."Eh, he'll spawn at 10:00 so I'll go watch some TV til then".

But like I said, that's just my personal opinion and I'm sure most people appreciate knowing a spawn timer. I prefer to leave it up to dedication and chance.

Everyone has their own style.. and a good amount of camping has gone into the math. It still requires camping (or pure dumb luck) in finding that first time -- as it resets (normally) weekly.

After spending a week straight,( and really camping to the point of it being unhealthy) for my first Skoll, I wanted to do things smarter the second time around. Not everyone has the luxury of camping, and this is a good alternative to it. Work, family, or just real life in general all can dampen it. Couple that with doing other things in Warcraft like raiding, dailies, what have you, and I can think of better things to do with my time than sit endlessly hoping for something to spawn -- as that first spawn (or even second) won't guarantee the tame -- as others can be jerks and kill it from you while you're taming, they can find it first.. .some are achievements for Frostbitten. So there are a lot of factors.

I had to camp my own King Krush for a WEEK before I found the pattern and learned the spawn timers. Frankly, I was grateful I did as it made me not so paranoid to leave my computer and actually enjoy something other than the game. Luck or not, the method worked for me. Everyone is different and I don't expect everyone to like/use the methods of 'rare spawn math' as I do. :)

Everyone pays their $15 a month to play the game differently. I pay mine not to sit around and obsess.. (or at least try not to. Working on that Time-Lost Proto Drake and that's causing quite a few lost hours).

I think finding a pattern helps to kill time. Pointlessly staring at the screen for hours can really burn you out and make you feel frustrated. But if you can use that time to help pinpoint when the animal is going to spawn it will help in the long run so that you of course can do other things you need to do instead of nothing much at all.

But I was wondering if that 8.5 hours only worked for your server? I camped for king krush 14 hrs straight and never saw him once. Maybe I missed him but I dont know.

One thing I'm almost 100% certain is that the longer spawn time rares like the Spirit Beasts and KK have rather varying spawn timers within different realms. For example, I've heard of someone who watched for Arcturis for a week straight (On one of the many random WoW sources i use) and he had a consistent 10Hour or so timer, while I have seen him on Nordrassil spawn 3 times, 15 hours apart. So, this list is useful, but it may have varying effectiveness depending on realm.

@Sasrei .

I actually found a little spawn point I didn't expect. Also, unless you are patrolling the area consistently, it is easy for him to be killed and skinned rapidly. I remember one time, I witness Loque'nahak spawn at the point right near the Dredsabers and Longnecks, right near the Nessingway Camp (under a little palm tree), and no sooner did he spawn, was he killed. As soon as the body was looted, another person skinned it. He had been up for 23 seconds and not a scrap of him remained as indicator of him being there.

I'm not on other servers, so I've no clue if the timer would change depending on a server, but somehow I don't think it would. With 7 spots for him to spawn, most of them in populated mining/herbing paths, and him being part of the Frostbitten achievement, there's probably a good chance someone from your faction or the other side, killed and skinned'em. :/

Don't get discouraged, though. This may not be the most helpful piece of advice, but if you can help it, look for him on weekdays. :)

@Gimlion
That definitely would account for so many wide reports of various spawn times! :)
Didn't know that. Thank you kindly for sharin' that.

I agree with varying spawn timers. I was camped for almost 9 hours (8.75) for Loque in one of his more dominant spawn points and he's never appeared and no one has mentioned that he spawned in another location. Strangely enough during my long camping there were several others camping for Loque and mainly Krush who were on when I started and were still on when I left. I think it may vary greatly between severs from 10-12 hours.

Think of it as learning the ways of individual beasts.. learning how to track them, when they feed, and what paths they are likely to take. All the things real hunters do, so... ;)

I've seen Arcturis hold out for a maximum of 22 hours before, but can't 100% verify that, since I (obviously) didn't sit there the whole time.

Whenever I looked for King Krush, he ALWAYS spawned within 6 hours of the beginning of my search. This could be a coincidence, but I'd done it three days in a row.

According to Thottbot, King Mosh's timer is closer to a week. >_<

The Razza shares a spawn point with other rares in that arena, which should probably be noted.

Thanks for compiling this list!
