It's a shame the void wolves aren't tamable. I asked someone on twitter if they're making it a rare mob or a common one elsewhere. Hopefully it'll be a common one elsewhere. I did read on here, can't remember where, that they're planning on making a void wolf that hasn't been fully turned yet so it's still tamable. I'd rather they did a small area of this, void wolves being turned, instead of a rare. The concept of it being a rare scares me. Loads of people will want it. Even if my server is low pop, it's still gonna be frustrating to try and get one.

Don't get your hopes up *too* high. A lot of critters with diets are untameable and liable to stay that way, like the rockworms in BC Hellfire Penninsula and the Sand Reavers. I'd add in the serpents from all over, but if they're potentially making those pythons tameable, then they *may* get added to the 'tameable' list.

It just means that they've been given a family. Looks like Birds Of Prey. Fingers crossed that they go the whole way with tameability; I love how they look!

Well There was a tweet that said they'd likely be birds of prey, but that definitely isn't guaranteeing that we will get them as pets. But it's something at least.

I asked Jonathan LeCraft if there was a fully-modeled version, like Jormungar have two versions. He didn't know, but he did ask me for what purpose I wanted to know. I mentioned as hunter pets, battle pets, and general environment creatures. (give them lush colors, and they'd fit in Tanaan as much as anything is ever going to fit.)

And if there isn't a full-bodied version, then they can make one. All it pretty much needs is a tail. It's pretty damn long on its own. Perhaps they should make the swimming animations the walking animations? That would give them a sort of crawling stance when running/walking.

Great that you asked. At least they know there's interest! :)

While this guy uses a different skin format to the original Jormungar, it's at least reassuring that the originals shared exactly the same skin between the full-bodied and the "worm-in-a-hole" models. So, as you say, hopefully this one can be adapted too.

Then again, they could have done the same thing with the magma worm but never did :(

Yeah. Another person showed interest. It's, I think, as close as we're gonna get to a centipede. While it isn't really a centipede.. but better than nothing. At its worst, it's just an overall awesome worm model, that would be nice to get.

And yeah. I believe that, for jormungars, they could just switch skeletons. And given that the disembodied jormungar and this carrion worm seem to share skeletons, I'm sure the same can be done for the carrion worm for an eventual, full-bodied version. And unlike Magmaw and the bone worms (which I hope still get a full version sometime), this model pretty much misses only a back portion. As you can see, it's long, and the only part it lacks is a tail or behind. That too is reassuring. I believe they were planning to make a full-bodied model, but even if they weren't, they now know they can gain a lot from relatively little work. (again, adding that back portion and making multiple colours)

Just off the top of my head: hunter pets, battle pets, possibly even mounts. They can also be all-around awesome, savage and intimidating insects. As I mentioned before: they make a great fit for Tanaan Jungle in the right colours. They fit right in with the ravagers, wasps, deadly plants, and the overall hellish jungle vibe of the zone.

Though, Wain. I would like to ask you something, so I'm doing that in PMs.

In addition to the brown colour, two more colours were added to the new Kaliri model in this patch!

The black and red are both quite striking, but in different ways.

I went ahead and showed interest in that worm! It's pretty gorgeous. And savage. Those kaliri are amazing too! I'd love that black one, or even a spirit version. @_@

Oh wow. Those are gorgeous in game. Pictures simply don't do them justice! I'd love to have that brown one.
Those Kalari are gorgeous too! Blizzard have outdone themselves this time. I'd love to have a red one, simply for the unique look :D

Please Blizz, let these be tameable. I am drooling over the black one. ;A; I've wanted a dark bird for years but all we have are older models.

While I want to believe that the thunderisle birds (both versions) have a fair shot at becoming tameable, and perhaps Stormcrow model (so much potential if you strip away the armor, just need to cover up the tiny space that is occupied by the rings on the armor and that leaves two small, empty spaces in the legs) as well as, in the future, the Dread Raven..

I'd be genuinely surprised if, of all bird models in WoD, these won't be tameable. These are the only ones where I don't just have a feeling and good hope, but where I bluntly believe with 99% certainty that they will. Not trying to get your hopes up -- just saying. Plus, old kaliri were tameable as well. They used the owl model, but they were still supposed to represent kaliri!

I'm crossing them for you, too. And because while I'm not the biggest bird fan, I still like the models, and would like to see them available.

On related but unrelated note as well: there are just some beasts that I'll keep fighting for: Dread Ravens, the reptilian Rylak, Kunchong, Mushan, now the Carrion Worm (as a full-bodied model), Pterodactyls. Thunder Isle Birds are included, but it's seeming like they might be a candidate for tameability.

I also would like to see, as mentioned before: an unarmored Stormcrow beast that is tameable, Elekks, Stags (we might have victory here!), Clefthooves, Beavers in the Riverbeast family, Sandreavers, and more.

Not disregarding how lucky (I hate to use the word "spoiled", feels so juvenile.) we've already been so far, with the new Ravagers, Riverbeasts, Hydras, Bats, possibly Serpents (I'm feeling that's intentional, hoping it's right), Rylaks, Hook Wasps, Wolves, Boars, Sporebats, Toucans, and possibly the Corehound (the new one), But I'm not gonna lie and act like I don't want the ones above to be tameable as well. I'm just gonna be frank about my greed. :P

Also, I'm probably gonna "nag" (not really, but I guess it's subjective. I could inadvertently be nagging them, but I wouldn't intentionally do it) Jeremy and Jonathan (@Muffinus, and @TheCrafticus) all throughout WoD, from release, and then every patch, suggesting, as Wain knows all too well now, centipede creatures. Like, actual centipedes. Moves like one, looks like one (although Warcraftified), etc. -- possibly as an enemy creature. Their plans are never set in stone, and if not for launch, suggesting it again and again (in moderation) might bring them to do it in patches later on, as they're not at all totally unfitting creatures. Let's just say Kilrogg Deadeye has to die, and he won't die in 6.0. That gives them a great chance to sic bloodthirsty, giant centipedes on us? Plus, as I mentioned before: centipedes are just about the greatest fit one can think of, when it comes to Tanaan Jungle, given its hellish "everything will kill you" jungle vibe.

Yeah, I seem to have become obsessed with centipedes. Nah, not really, though. I just think they're cool, and they would fit WoD so well that not making any of them would be a wasted opportunity. Plus, suggestions could never hurt.

But I digress. I'm very appreciative of the pets so far, but I hope to see more, and I'm glad Jeremy is on Twitter, and seems, aside from a few conservative design choices and ideas (Rylak family, but I won't repeat that stuff), very welcoming to ideas, and I really like that. We've never had this much of a voice when it comes to hunter pets, and it feels like we can actually influence what becomes a pet (to a certain extent. Sorry, no Garwal or Fire patches for you. >: P) by showing our support for it, and showing how much we would want it to be tameable. And that feels very.. right, and good.

I noticed today the crawlers in Gorgrond (the silithids? From Ahn'qiraj) have a diet. Not sure if that's been since vanilla or not, but they definitely would make great candidates for a new pet.

edit:

These things because I'm not sure what their official name is;

Edit2: Nevermind, sandreavers. Were just talked about.. stupid me xD
