It's a shame though because I don't know if I will even use it unless they fix that horrendous back leg, and I really don't care for the tail flying everywhere either. I understand the old models tail did the same but y'know, that worked when it didn't have a gigantic MLP style tail xD

I love the look of the talbuk but I just hope they fix these things...

I actually like the long tails. I just think they're about twice too bulky. x_x

The horns will probably clip through your face too, though Blizzard hasn't historically cared about that (see: every drake in the world ever).

someday I'll find someplace to host a sig that isn't stupid money-grubbing photobucket

No it's not that I mind the look of the tails themselves... just that when they run they look pretty.. comical xD The animation looked fine on the original model as it had a small tail, but with this model's big, poofy tail.. not so much.

I must be the only one who has no real love for the new Talbuks. They don't look graceful anymore, and those tails look absolutely hideous to me and don't fit the rest of the animal at all.

I can understand why people don't like them (and I admit to favoring the Outland version of them more), but considering this is a SAVAGE world with SAVAGE people with SAVAGE creatures...? Yeah, I can't say I'm all too surprised at the need to make everything and anything have spikes and beefy muscles. I think they're just trying to drive the point home that the transformative powers that mutated much of the flora and fauna on Outland was withering. Draenei became Broken and Lost Ones, Elekks lost a lot of their plating and horns, Talbuks became more willowy, etc...

Even so, I just consider these the Talbuk equivalent of draft horses. They're not as nimble and graceful as their Outland equivalent, but they're not without their charm. My one gripe with them is that their tails just move too high when they run. It's not fluid and natural looking, it's like they have their tails on a spring lever. It's the raccoon/red panda model all over again.

Think of the neck spikes as gear sticks.

Updated the OP with the new talbuks.

You've probably already seen the two new "Dread Raven Warbirds" on MMO-Champ. These look much like the Armored Dread Raven mount, but lack the crucial saddle.

Interestingly, however, the skins were also added to the mount folder and they DO have saddle textures.

Image Image

Click on the links to see full images. The orange ('Sun') one is just stunning! And the other is a gorgeous bronze.

One thing lacking is the fire effects, which are present on the Sun version of the Warbird, but obviously not present on the existing mount. Hopefully a new fiery version of the mount is in the works too!

I've added these to the OP, but listed them as speculation, since I'm still not sure if they're intended to be mounts. I really hope so though!

(They also look good on the wild model, which I'll add to the pet looks thread).

Just wanted to say that that most sun-y, fiery one is awesome, and seem kind of like an inadvertent, straight updated version of this guy:

Image

The Flametalon of Alysrazor. That makes it even cooler than it already was to me. It's like "I got the Flametalon of Alysrazor, but the graphics are quite.. y'know, old because of the Anzu model."

"NO PROBLEM. GET THE SUN RAVEN. It looks almost exactly like a no-nonsense updated version of the Flametalon!"

"Aww yis."

...

...

I'm strange, I know.

I want the fiery one so badly >< There's a boss in Skyreach with the duller model. Maybe one of them will drop there? I could dream.

Even if I have my preferences, one is better than none.

I like the bronze one, but I'm not a big fan of the chandelier on their heads.

Added the elekk mounts, finally.

Follow the links to WCM to view all the body/saddle combos. Since none of the saddles are particularly colour-matched to the bodies, we don't know which the designers may choose.

The final elekk in that panel uses the same skin as the Iron Horde Elekk. That skin has been made available to the wild model, so it's also a candidate.

Updated the image for the "Chromatic Chimaera", which has been toned down rather a lot...

I also added a new chimaera mount model which has appeared, which is named "taxi" and is presumably intended to be used for the flight paths of Draenor. It would make a great personal mount for those (like me) who prefer their mounts simpler as it only carries a saddle and a torch:

There are no new colours or skins for it, it simply makes use of the existing wild skins.

At least we know we're getting elekks and clefthoof mounts :D No clue whether they're horde/alli/neutral though.

I'd like to note that the reward mount for 'Glory of the Draenor Hero' is listed as 'Armored Bloodtusk'...so either an Elekk or Clefthoof is my guess there.

Hmm interesting. Normally these metas are flying mounts though aren't they? But I guess since this expansion isn't centered around flying as much, there's a first for everything. But considering how nearly everything has tusks or spikes or horns... it really could be anything xD
